He filled it pensively, before answering, putting back the coffee pot on the table and sitting.

The teenager eyed me contemplatively, before speaking up.

"Why are you so invested in it anyways? You heard the heroine, it's only a game world."

Oh my, Nagito-kun is worried? How cute.

I finish drinking, and I formulate my answer carefully. Miscommunication would be troublesome.

"Nee, Nagito-kun, ever heard of the multiverse theory ? What allows you to tell what world is true and what world is fake ? Until the heroine appeared, didn't you think this world as real ? Do you think of yourself as real ? Since we both appear in the game anyways, doesn't that mean we're fakes too ? Doesn't that mean everything we did and will do is meaningless anyways ?"

I smiled derisively.

"She doesn't even look sad about it. You should be worried though."

I added, looking at the couple that was starting to go away, speaking intimately.

"W-Why would you say that?"

I beamed at her.

"You're not pregnant yet , right ? If another woman gives birth to the prince's child before you and that the prince dies , that child will inherit everything. And it just so happens that the duchess led your husband to a private place, for a private talk."

The redheaded girl gasped, connecting some dots the way I wanted them to be, and she looked at me, panicked.

"You should be able to see them by the northern tower, try to go to the third floor, it will make spying easier, if you don't believe me. Though, do be careful..."

I started walking away, saying my last words to her airily.

"If you're not careful around that woman, you'll lose e-very-thing~"

Welp, that should be all here, if I can't act alone, then why not as my dear fellow rivals for help ?

Ah, Nagito-kun should be by the rose garden for our coffee party ! He went to mingle with the servants to get some info on what exactly's going on there. The first duke's death is indeed suspicious, but I don't think it's the heroine's doing, she doesn't seem smart enough for that.

I was currently very comfortably set, taking in the sunlight, when I saw the heroine and the prince guy. I smiled at her to mess with her mind, then I saw something surprising.

A bit ahead of them , a big statue was moving, and then falling. The heroine saw it too, but too late, and both the heroine and the prince went squish.

Ah, it was Rival-san who pushed it, I recognize the red hair. Well, it was a pretty radical way to get rid of the heroine...

And then, everything went black, and we found ourselves in our chambers, sitting at the table. Nagito-kun jumped in surprise and I looked at the calendar.

September 15th hadn't been crossed.
