Chapter 3 : Yuri-chan is torturing bunnies!
I didn’t even get to see what killed me.
That’s pretty insulting, but I’m an untrained lvl 1 who doesn’t intend to specialize in combat, so that end is pretty logical.
I’m even more afraid to move now, because of that Rotten ‘Luck’ skill.
It says I have a lot of luck, but I won’t be fooled! There is a thing such as bad luck out there!
Humph, priorities, priorities.
As a [Diplomat], I have a 20 slots feather backpack and five gold pieces.
As a beginner character, I have 10 units of plain bread, a water skin, and 2 Silver.
The peculiar thing is, since this game is supposed to be very realistic, not only the basic needs must be covered, but you have to carry your items on you.
The gold I got might seem outrageous, but the other starts got stat inflating potions. In this game where your statistics don’t increase automatically when you level up, they are very sought out. And as one might have guessed, the backpack is worth another 5 gold, because it reduces the weight of the things I carry by 50%.
This money isn’t enough for me to be attacked, when all the other newbies got those potions, or a lot more money than me. Diplomacy is good indeed.
Hum. What should I do now again? The library is surely packed, so I should avoid it, what a bummer…
Well, I guess I should acquire some skills for now.
Survival skills seem to be the best for now, since I can’t afford to stay in the city early on. Since I am a Nordic, I’ve got the [Hunting] Skill, which means that I can see what kind of creatures live around and can build and put basic traps.
Well, for the creatures of my level.
Low level skills suck. This is totally going to be a pain to level them…
I guess I’ll go buy some basic gear, that miniskirt is really short, and the weather is cold. Perverts.
With ten silver pieces, I bought a basic pair of pants, a big leather jacket, a knife, a pot, a tailor kit, a map, a tourist’s book , a book on the local flaura, and a Beginner spear. Bargaining was tough, but I managed to get a bandana for free since I was buying in bulk in the general store!
Player mark successfully hidden!
I equipped myself quickly and looked at the quests on the notice board before sighing and going to what was the beginner’s playground.
There were a lot of rabbits and squirrels frolicking around. I avoided the squirrels, not wanting a reminder of the time my class was left stranded on an island and an idiot tried to go and hunt one, and decided to train on the rabbits. I approached one slowly, and it ran away when I entered a certain range. I threw a stone at another, and it escaped when it touched.
“Umu, they didn’t really work the AI for the lowest mobs, I see.”
One of the advantages of the spears is that there is quite the range between you and the enemy.
Another advantage is that you can throw it.
In other words, it’s target practice time!
The hunt, if I can call it that, went okay, I guess, save for the last one, where a gust of wind blew my spear in mid air, and I ended up aggroing a feral wolf that had mysteriously appeared when it was supposed to live miles away !
The beast being level ten, I died.
Obviously.
My luck sucks.
Since I have the hunting skill, instead of drops, I got the rabbits’ carcasses, except each of one took an inventory place, so I decided to skin them there.
Except skinning isn’t as easy as I thought, and before long, my hands were bloodied and there were several bunny pieces all around me.
Oooh ? I finally got it right ! And it was the only white bunny too !
Hunting LV.2You can now track down creatures of your level.
A skill up !
Skills don’t up like your level. Yes, you have to do do things related to it, but to prevent mindless grinding, doing the same thing consecutively give less and less experience. Also, they don’t show the experience gauge for the skill, to keep it a bit surprising.
Those with real life experience have an advantage, because if they act without the help of the system, they may get some bonuses, for an example, a swordsman in real life might acquire a secret attack in game.
But more importantly.
Isn’t this fur, like, super fluffy ?!
Uoh this fluffiness is so relaxing !
I must acquire more ! Fluffiness is justice !
Ah, it looks like the skinned rabbit limbs can be stacked, since they count as ingredients.
Hm, it seems that I should kill some more of them, my French blood is boiling, come here Civet de lièvre ! I’m buying the remaining ingredients right away!
Hm, how many rabbits has it been, I wonder? My hunting skill didn’t level up again, and neither did I. I got loads of rabbit parts and some good pelts, all white. Except that I should really go and learn tanning before they rot away.
I suppose I can go and use the racks near the Blacksmith’s.
Boooring !
“ Lookin’ motivated, girlie.”
Ugh, social interactions …
The old man, obviously the blacksmith, looked at the pelts approvingly.
“Good quality, hunt’em yerself ?
I nodded, scratching at the skin to get rid of the rest of the meat.
The process was simplified: the moment the pelt was meat and fat free, it was usable.

I needed to hurry, people were coming. There was even a guy using the rack next to her.
“Ye know, tha’s remindin’ me of…”
Nope.
I shoot up, took my pelts and walked away, nodding my farewells to the flabbergasted old man.
The guy next to me started talking to him and I only heard the beginning
“..tell me more of that cave…”
Well, good for him, she wasn’t risking freezing to death in some old cave!
As she was going to the tailor’s, she heard noise. A very familiar and annoying type of noise.
“Kyaaaaaaa~Arthur-samaaaaa!”
Oh god no.
A flock of girls was crowding the place, and a super pretty, super shiny young man was walking like he was the only one on this planet.
It was a shoujo setting, and I started looking frantically around, knowing what was going to happen next. Escape way located. The blonde fairy guy started walking my way, and I found the sacrif... erm, a candidate in a nearby alley. Yeah, let’s go with that. Good facial structure, hidden by glasses and braids. I caught her, and dragged her away from prying eyes, despite her protests.
“You better be honored. Today, I’ll be your personal Cupid.”
I distracted her with a silver coin, took her glasses, yanked out the ribbons of her braids, and pushed her towards the approaching footsteps, before diving in an empty barrel. I was closing the barrel when I saw the ’prince’ dramatically helping up the girl, that was completely red and had a dopey look on her face.
I even got glasses for my troubles!
Acquired skill : Pickpocketing LV.1
Useful skill ! Yummy !
I feel incredibly satisfied right now !
Then, the barrel moved. I couldn’t make a sound, because this would be hard to explain , and soon I heard water, felt a flotting sensation, felt th barrel touch earth, before rolling increasingly fast. A long time later, I was seriously feeling seasick when it stopped. I pushed with all my strength and opened the lid, to find out… Nature. Nature everywhere, and no water around to boot!
I was completely lost.
Out of range : respawn point modified.
Uwaaa, that sounds troublesome! Ah well, I see a rabbit ! Come here come here little bunny ~
-End-
My name is Hanako Sakura and today is my first day of playing the game that is super popular at school, except that I don’t have any experience in gaming, so I ended up spending all my money on clothes, accessories and skills, and forgot to buy a weapon.
I heard that the school prince, Arthur Lancaster (Shut up, I didn’t have any other british sounding name right here), a quarter british ( but that looks entirely European mind you), and son of th CIO of a very influential company ( Yup, and he's been sent to your normal, boring school instead of an elite one, lucky you...).
The other girls fawn over him a lot, he must feel pretty alone. ( Right, I’d think he’d be sick of people, but whatever floats your boat.)
He was followed by his admirers (apparently, that includes you), when I got dragged by an alley. I heard a melodious voice and looked up.
Golden hair and bright blue eyes, ivory skin, long lashes and full, pink lips. ( Yes, yes, praise her more, come on ~)
She looked like a goddess. (Uh-oh… Is that a Yuri flag rising? Because that would be creepy to develop a lesbian crush on your abductor)
That woman, who was obviously a NPC (huh ? She's hiding her forehead, come on) , made me very self conscious about how I looked. If I looked only half as good as her, I’d definitely have chances with the prince…
“You better be honored. Today, I’ll be your personal Cupid.”
The words coming out of her mouth were incomprehensible to the plain me. ( glasses and braids, so you’re plain? Shoujo logic. Don’t understand.) She gave me a silver coin, I felt some pulling, and the next thing I knew, I was against the prince…
After a few minutes, some of my class finally recognized me and were amazed at the change.
“Sakura?! What happened to you?”
“I met a goddess and she cast a spell on me, he-he”
“ What ? you must tell me about that …” (Oh god….)
One day later…
Back to our favorite MC-Chan, she was happily dismembering a hare when she heard a notification.
Due to your rising notoriety, you gain the title : Cupid
Due to your rising notoriety, you gain the title: Guide to legend
( Oh, come ON, you’re just being a troll there!)
Never let it be said that the administrators don’t pay attention to gossip.
Yuri-chan’s scream made every bird in a mile fly away, panicked.
( Poor MC-Chan)

I did say that the other wasn't really a chapter, so yeah, I posted this one too.
Slowly but surely, things are starting to pick up.
Feel free to admire her capacity to think quickly !
And squirrels are just evil.
Is it just me or the chapter are getting longer o_o" ?
