We were in a realm where souls didn’t just dissipate—they lingered, as dictated by the realm’s rules. From the soul’s perspective, it felt like a long time had passed, but from my point veiw, it had only been a few years. This soul had lived for about 500 years before dying of old age, and it should retain some memories, but now it was going to be reborn as one of my race. As a progenitor, I had certain abilities that allowed me to create an egg and place the soul within it.
I returned home, entered my room, and grabbed blankets to create a makeshift nest for the egg. Wrapping my wings around it protectively, I noticed I was naked for some reason. Sophie approached the egg, but without thinking, I struck her. It must have been some kind of maternal instinct that I couldn’t control.
"Seriously," Sophie said, "you know it’ll take about a year for that egg to hatch, right?"
"Shut up. Don’t you think I know that? But my instincts are in full mom-mode, apparently," I snapped. "I’ve been feeding it my Mana. You know, if you overdo it, your Mana capacity will be permanently reduced."
"I’m well aware. I’m running low, but it’ll take another month before I’m completely drained. Someone else will have to take over feeding the egg soon. But unfortunately, this also slows down Mana recovery for whoever’s doing it. Sorry, but Alex will have to take my place."
Sophie nodded. "I’ve got something that might help with the whole Mana thing." She pulled out the artifact Mephisto once used, now drained of Hell energy. "I’m going to turn this into a power source and float it above the throne in the throne room."
"How?"
"Watch." Sophie created dice-shaped objects and placed one inside the artifact, which was a crystal orb. The black orb absorbed surrounding energy and stored it. Then, Sophie etched runes on it.
"This should keep it from overloading." She created two more dice-like devices that amplified the energy, doubling its amount by forcing it to collide with itself. The collision effectively recreated a version of your skill, though it wasn’t quite the same as Alex's. Still, it would give a near-endless supply of Mana.
"Of course, you can run out if you use more than it generates, but there’s an emergency cut-off if that happens," Sophie said, continuing to inscribe runes. "You’ll be able to draw energy from the dimension to replenish your Mana faster. After all, the Mana here comes from you, me, and Alex."
Sophie smiled. "Alex should be back soon. I sent her to another dimension to get nappies and other baby supplies. She’s probably goofing off on one of those Earths."
Almost a month had passed, and Alex finally took my place. I got up from the nest, stopped snuggling the egg, and walked outside—only to realize I forgot clothes. With a snap of my fingers, I dressed myself and began meditating on the grass, absorbing the surrounding energy. I filtered out the parts that weren’t mine—after all, the Mana here was a mix of Alex’s, Sophie’s, and mine.
Even though feeding the egg was slowing my Mana recovery, replenishing it from the realm helped speed things up. I hadn’t overdone it, so my Mana capacity wasn’t permanently weakened. Being weakened in this universe was dangerous, with so many gods ready to take advantage.
The process was slow, taking about a week. It would be faster if I didn’t need to filter out Sophie’s and Alex’s Mana. Though not poisonous, their Mana wasn’t ideal for me. While absorbing, I reviewed the memories copied from the soul. I hadn’t gone through all 500 years yet, but I had covered the first few decades. Lady Death could probably sort through that amount quickly, but I was far from her level.
"Okay, let’s see. So, the fountain was destroyed about a decade after I left, by the humans. It seems they started viewing both the Sages and the Majin as mutants. I understand about the Majin—they definitely fit the term, especially those with less human-like appearances. It’s quite a broad label. But I’m surprised about the Sages, who look just like regular humans. They should be able to use magic far better than most. Still, I suppose it’s not too surprising, considering humanity’s racist tendencies. They treated mutants horribly out of fear and jealousy.

It looks like they completely destroyed both the church and the fountain in their efforts. At that point, a significant number of Sages and Majin were created, though the human population remained high. The number of Sages and Majin was in the tens of thousands. It seems something like Genosha was created, similar to what happens in the comic books. The Sages and Majin were welcomed into the mutant nation, as they were seen as fellow mutants.
I see Magneto tried to prevent the destruction of the fountain, viewing it as a way to turn humans into mutants. That’s not surprising. Charles Xavier, of course, got in the way, as usual. That guy is a self-hating mutant. He could literally brainwash everyone into accepting mutants, which would be the easiest and most efficient solution. But no, he complains about ethics, as if results don’t matter. He wants to take the moral high ground and preaches equality, all while ignoring the atrocities right in front of him.
He fails to recognize that even among humans, some are born exceptional while others are mundane.
Reviewing the memories, it looks like she wasn’t entirely sure if she was turned into a succubus. She did have horns and a tail, but not the typical succubus appearance. The horns looked somewhat like demon horns. For the first 100 years of her life, she lived adventurously, and much of it involved her being, well… promiscuous. Eventually, she settled down with a human after living for 80 years. Is she an idiot? She had kids—two daughters.
Of course, her husband grew old while she stayed young. She’d already lived 80 years without aging a day. Her lifespan is much longer than a human’s, so why would she tie herself to an ordinary human? Not a mutant, not a Sage, not even a Majin. Predictably, he aged, and eventually, their relationship ended.
When her human daughters died of old age. she had all ready lost a lot of her strength since she’d reproduced. Rumor had it that someone—probably Rimuru—found a way to solve that issue. They created a magical tool that pulled energy from the atmosphere. As long as you had enough Mana and didn’t let it drop to zero, it wouldn’t reduce your capacity. In other words, as long as there was a stable Mana level, reproducing wouldn’t weaken you.
Looks like the world went to hell after that. Humans eventually started a war against mutants, but unlike in the comic books where it ended in mutual destruction because of the Sentinels, the presence of Sages and Majin greatly changed things. Magic could do things beyond even the craziest mutant abilities. Sure, mutants had powerful abilities, but magic was far more versatile. Nullifying a single mutant ability is one thing, but dealing with the wide array of magical powers was a whole other problem.
They tried creating Mystique-type Sentinels who could adapt to anything, but it didn’t help. Magic, with its ability to completely ignore the laws of physics, rendered robots useless. After about 50 years, humanity was wiped out by their own Sentinels, along with the mutants. The Sentinels themselves were eventually destroyed, with the X-Men focusing on taking out the factories and the last of the remaining Sentinels destroyed one by one.
The world went quiet for a while, but eventually, it began to rebuild."
After reviewing the memories, I switched out with Alex, naturally wrapping my wings around the egg. For some reason, I instinctively took off my clothes and began feeding it my Mana. Surprisingly, my Mana recovery rate actually increased. Normally, this process doesn’t just consume your Mana; it also reduces your mana recovery speed until you fully recover your mana. But instead of just returning to its normal level, my mana recovery speed seemed to improve slightly.
Once I was running low, I switched out with Alex. However, the Mana in the realm had greatly dropped. Suddenly, it spiked back up, and Sophie sent a telepathic message, saying she had taken care of it and took over from Alex. We continued switching out for an entire year, until the egg began to hatch.
I was so excited, since I was the one present when it started. I sent a telepathic message to everyone, and they all appeared in the room. We watched as the egg slowly cracked over the course of a few hours, and then our daughter finally emerged. She immediately ate her eggshell, as if it were the most natural thing to do.
Since she has memories from her previous life, I wasn’t sure if she was instinctively eating the eggshell or if she was doing it because she’d seen it in anime and thought that’s what she should do in this situation. Despite having her memories, she couldn’t speak yet because her vocal cords weren’t developed—after all, she’s still a baby.
I picked her up in my arms. Our daughter had two horns, one silver and one gold she also had one silver eye and one gold eye, as she is an Aragon. Without hesitation, she began breastfeeding, which surprised me, considering she still has all of her memories.
