chapter 33

I headed to the teleportation hub, one of the benefits of nobility. It's that I can command military operations of a certain size, and I can also teleport myself directly onto the battlefield. I do whatever I want, even as a knight. I decided to teleport to the battlefield that seemed to be struggling the most. After all, the probing attacks mean we're being attacked on multiple fronts, so our forces are stretched thin.

As one of the 12 Demon Knights, guarding the hub during peacetime, the guards aren't really there to stop anyone; they're just there to collect payment for using the teleportation network. But during times of war, one of the 12 Demon Knights will be assigned to guard the hub, since they can take out an entire army by themselves. All the teleportation circles in the network lead to the teleportation hub, preventing direct teleportation. It provides a quick and convenient transportation network. Why not? Allowing the enemy to make use of it. As I teleported in, I summoned my staff and activated my unique Magic Rainbow flame transformation. My eyes turned rainbow, my hair turned rainbow-colored, and my wings also attained a rainbow color. My clothes burned and were replaced by a flame dress made out of solidified rainbow flames. Unfortunately, I couldn't use my storage ring because of the rainbow flames. Since these flames encompass every element of magic and distort space enough to prevent me from using my storage ring, I always lose an outfit when I use this magic. Spatial distortions surrounded my body. These spatial distortions are only strong enough to prevent the use of storage rings, and since they're concentrated around my body, they only affect me.

As I fly towards the battlefield, I naturally reach it at absurd speeds. It seems my staff's amplification also applies to my flight speed since my wings don't work like bird wings but are more like a form of flight magic. I simply channel my mana into them. However, for some reason, they allow me to fly much faster than typical flight magic. I suppose it's because I have wings; my aerial mobility is much greater than with a flight spell.

Once over the enemy's side of the battlefield, I launch a rainbow fireball. The moment it hits the ground, it explodes into a violent eruption of rainbow flames, engulfing the entire enemy side of the battlefield. With a snap of my fingers, the rainbow flames instantly disappear, leaving nothing but ash. All of the enemies, their weapons, and equipment have been incinerated in an instant, leaving only scorched earth as evidence they were ever there.

I continue my flight, returning to the teleportation circle, teleporting back to the hub, and heading to the next battlefield. I repeat the process of burning the enemies to death, bit by bit, with barely any effort.

Deciding to try something different, I begin creating tentacles of rainbow flames, picking up the enemies where they stand and incinerating them in an instant. This time, only the spot where the flame touches turns to ash, rather than the entire enemy side of the battlefield. I decide to continue using this method to cause less environmental destruction. Although it can be repaired, it's better not to destroy the environment in the first place.
