One guy on the ship has a bow with aimbot-type magic. This spell locks onto targets, making it impossible to dodge. It's easy to counter by launching a counterattack or using defensive magic, however on closer inspection. What he’s doing is manipulating probability, which is dangerous because the luckier you make yourself, the less lucky you'll be later. This magic changes the probability of hitting the target based on the archer’s skills, making them more likely to hit their target.
The problem is, since this magic manipulates probability, even if you put up defensive magic or launch a counterattack against the arrows, there's a good chance those arrows will still hit. Especially since the guy firing the arrows like a machine gun seems to have enough skill to make his shots nearly 100% accurate. The arrows are made of magic and seem to explode on contact. He is killing space centipedes left and right with terrifying explosions that are equivalent to nuclear bombs.
I use my telepathy earring to tell some of the airships to back off as they're getting too close to the battlefield. These guys seem to be too overeager and have gotten way too close to the action. I then instruct some of the other airships to go support the ones fighting at close range, as they are about to be surrounded by a horde of space centipedes. It looks like some space mantises have joined. These things look like regular mantises but are gigantic. The mantises are actually starting to cause losses on our side. Those damn things are pretty fast.
I create a bolt of lightning and throw it. The bolt splits into thousands of smaller bolts, each hitting one of the space mantises. The moment it hits, the entire body of the mantis is violently electrocuted and fried. Anyone for cooked mantis? I continue bombarding the mantises. They're not particularly strong; however, they are relatively fast in comparison to the centipedes. I instruct the airships to keep maintaining their distance and attacking from range while swapping out the support ships that are aiding the close-range fighters.
I charge up a lightning hammer and unleash it, incinerating massive numbers of bugs. As the number of insects increases, we may be overwhelmed by their numbers. They seem to be increasing quite a bit. The ones that were hanging back are now engaging. So far, we have only encountered mantises and centipedes. As far as I can tell, the centipedes are around the same strength level as the mantises, with the mantises just having higher speed. This means the stronger insects, probably more intelligent ones, are gauging our levels of strength.
The characteristics of space dungeon monsters are to consume everything. There's no way they would ignore living creatures. That's how the space station would enable a combat situation. If they chose to ignore us and go directly to Earth, it would be problematic.
No matter how intelligent they are, they are still governed by the instinct to devour and consume everything. They won't go to Earth until they've wiped out everyone on the space station. Of course, this was taken into account with the construction of the space station. Battling on Earth would be disadvantageous, although Australia might be fine. It's possible the Earth would be destroyed due to the incompetence of other countries, especially the United States, with everyone arguing about who's going to defend against space bugs. Hopefully, no one tries to invade Australia during this time, though I believe it's unlikely that would happen.
Stolen novel; please report.
The moment I sensed the demon knights, I knew they were strong enough to wipe out a country and chose not to. So I have no doubt one of them would be sent to perch whoever was stupid enough to invade Australia during this time.
Suddenly, a jellyfish-looking monster appeared. It was a giant jellyfish, probably the size of a whale. However, this jellyfish was distinct as it had a giant brain poking out of its head. Suddenly, I felt my mind being attacked. Of course, it couldn't penetrate my mental defenses. However, I felt more and more attacks concentrating on my mind, multiple brain jellyfish attacking my mind simultaneously. After a fierce mental battle, I could feel my mental defenses slipping. Finally, I lost; my mental defenses broke.
However, I smiled your fucked now. The jellyfish were in my mind, thinking they could control me or learn all of my secrets. Laughing, I unleashed massive amounts of information about the most random crap, flooding the jellyfishes' minds. The pure nonsensical nonsense that existed in my mind caused the jellyfishes' brains to explode one after another.
I had released a chaotic storm of information. This was another type of mental defense: overload your opponents mind by flooding them with so much information at once that it causes them to stop being able to process anything else and causes a very painful death, making their heads explode from information overload.
After killing all the jellyfish, there seemed to be an influx of more of them. I quickly repaired my mental defenses. Defending one's mind was easy; you just needed to picture something your mind considered a defensive structure, like a bank vault or a wall. After all, the mind was very much about mental representations—like a bank vault would be a mental representation of something that was hard to break into. It was very easy to restore my mental defenses. Hell, I even strengthened them.
I used the telepathic earring to transmit my memories to all of the people, even the ones back at base, warning them about the jellyfish. This, of course, was another thing that was easy to do. Contrary to the most common interpretation of telepathy being something equivalent to a mobile phone for your brain, it was more like a mental internet or a brain internet. Basically, you were capable of sending your memories or massive amounts of information like transferring files from one computer to another. The scary part is, along with one's memories, you could transfer the emotions and experiences. For example, let's say you learned how to do something. You could not only transfer your memories of how you learned it, but also the emotions and experiences. This would enable someone who received this information to learn the same thing without actually having to do it themselves. They would have your memories and experiences of what you did to achieve the results. Telepathy truly was a lot more powerful than people realized.
