Once I was done, I snapped my fingers to change into some proper clothing, and then I smiled at Sophie. “Do you mind opening a portal to Rimuru's office? I still need to sell him the timtam recipes so we can go on a shopping spree. Plus, I need a lot of new clothes, so it’s going to be fun for you because you get to see me try on all the outfits.” Sophie blinked, and we were suddenly in Rimuru's office.
Of course, he was there—perfect timing as always. I said, “I’m here to give you the recipes in exchange for a ton of gold, so I can go on a shopping spree. I need a ton of new clothes. After that, I’m going to check out the dungeons. Oh, and by the way, how do you get the water in your hot springs like that? Of course, you have to take some things with a grain of salt—after all, these stories are designed to be entertaining, not historical retellings.”
I telepathically transferred the tim tam recipes to Rimuru, who then placed a bunch of gold coins on the table. I snapped my fingers and gold coins disappeared, “Okay, let’s go.” Sophie opened a portal, and we stepped through.
We spent the day trying different foods, including that demon rice. Goddammit, it was incredible! Sure, white rice has a slightly better texture, but only someone with enhanced senses or who’s very picky would notice. And yes, demon rice didn’t look as appetizing, but it was absolutely delicious. Even if I drowned white rice in soy sauce, it couldn’t compare to the taste of demon rice. I started thinking about getting my own rice plants since I have a feeling we won’t be in this universe forever. But then I realized there’s a problem: even if we have our own rice plants, it’s not like I can actually cultivate them. Putting them inside the realm is fine, but I don’t think I have the proper space. Even if the realm was bigger, I’d need some kind of golems to do the actual work. I shrugged it off as a problem for future me.

We headed to one of the clothing shops, and after asking if they could make enchanted clothes, we were redirected to another shop. This one seemed to have the expertise I was looking for. I asked for a black kimono with rainbow feathers and a red one with the same design. I wanted them enchanted with auto-cleaning, self-repair, and resizing. However, they had never heard of resizing enchantments. I explained how you could sew runes onto clothing to enchant them, and it was not uncommon to place the runes on the inside so they wouldn’t be visible. The resizing enchantment required the object to be much larger than necessary because it wouldn’t allow the object to exceed its original size or weight. So, if it weighed 10 kilos and was a kilometer in size, it could only ever be 10 kilos and a kilometer in size at most. I ordered about five sets, and then I decided to get a crimson red kung fu outfit with rainbow feathers and a black one with the same design. I also got a bunch of casual clothing. Sophie was just as relentless as me, even though she already had tons of clothes. I looked at her and said, “What other clothes do we need to get?”
“Well, we obviously need some sexy underwear,” Sophie said, looking very serious. I snapped my fingers and handed the goblin at the counter the money. Surprisingly, she counted it quickly and confirmed the payment. I told her, “Send me a thought communication when you’re done making the outfits.” Before I could leave the store, they pulled me back in to take my measurements. They also took Sophie’s measurements.
After we were done, they assured us that the clothes would be enchanted with auto-cleaning and self-repair. They were also curious about creating resizing enchantments using their skills. After that, we headed to the underwear store, which is always my least favorite thing. I sighed heavily as they measured us for the panties and bra. Sophie looked at me and said, “Not everyone has perky tits that don’t need bra.”
I looked at her and replied, “You’re one to talk! You’ve got the same perk I do as a devil species. Well, I guess you’re just a demon’s peer now.”
After we were done, I decided to teleport back to my room. I wondered what Alex was up to since I hadn’t seen her all day. I noticed something—this mansion is really starting to get dusty. It’s odd that we never set up enchantments for self-cleaning. My mother didn’t do that either. Using magic to examine the runes, I realized why. There isn’t any room for those types of enchantments. She’s placed so many defensive magics and teleportation countermeasures that it’s insane. This isn’t a simple warding system; it’s filled with various traps designed to thwart anyone trying to bypass the teleportation restrictions. The complexity of these teleportation defenses is impressive. Additionally, the spatial element is fascinating. I know the house is much bigger on the inside, but it seems that the hallways are enchanted with spatial magic specifically designed to lead you directly to the room you wish to go to. That also takes up a lot of space for enchantments. With so many defensive countermeasures in place, there simply isn’t enough capacity in the materials of the house to facilitate any other enchantments, like self-cleaning.
