Dear self,
The cheery moods emanating from Vamera were at odds with the dull surly one I entered the dream with. When she notices a change in your attitude she really does pester you incessantly, but she does eventually stop if she realises your mood is only worsening for being prodded and irritated. Somehow the silence she holds between lulls in her chatter feel more revealing about her than even her choice of words. She’s nothing but a expressionless sphere of radiance but I could tell she was giving me the look.
She also explained the little lightspawn that had appeared within the dream during her recovery. They were some product of her domain recovering, which is a very good thing. But the way it is recovering at present also means her domain will be a little too bound to the mindscape between me and Rahph, which has a little more permanence than either of our liking. It’s nothing that cannot be altered, but not without cost.
She doesn’t know why it happened. It would have required a large infusion of unstructured power that held no tether to any other entity. Free power like that does not come out of nowhere, at least anywhere outside of the Transcendent Planes it doesn’t. Her theory is that it might have come from some stroke of luck I had facing the Otherling being at the second Rift. It’s speculation but she has no other idea for where it might have come from. None at all. We really couldn’t think of any other reason for this to have happened.
It does mean she might begin acting within Materiality once more to a very minor degree. Preferably with a vessel to avoid exhausting herself, otherwise the benefits to doing so would have to be very clear and very probable beforehand.

A strong blizzard came in today. The now swirled into fantastical patterns upon the weather barrier. It made for an interesting sight within the cloudy gloom. I might have heard some laughter from somewhere in the storm. Frost spirits enjoying themselves no doubt. I just hope the storm giants aren’t having sport with ice boulders again.
I insisted on accompanying Anora to check up on her Quislings. For being trapped within the storm itself they were doing well for themselves. They had woven a frankly impressive tent with multiple rooms to house themselves in. The Simulacrum needed the most room, but he also had the least actual necessities. Being a construct of magic had its benefits on occasion. As for where they got all the supplies they seem to have used my money and might have stolen some of it as well. Seeing their skill with cloth also gave me some idea where Anora got those toys she took to the orphanage. They at least knew how to hunt the Jackalope in their dens between snowstorms, so they didn’t have to worry too much about survival. They weren’t exactly thriving, but that also wasn’t exactly a bad thing.
Ekelyn gave a ruling to the town constabulary regarding the issue with the adventurers. She clearly decided to stick within existing laws as she merely pointed out how they might be interpreted to apply to this case specifically.
As in nature itself, there are no rights especially given to living creatures. Members of society were only protected by rights because they were what society itself was, so such rights were merely society serving itself. The balance of life and ecology is also protected by law, and the Rangers Guild enforces such balance aggressively no matter local preferences, but in this case the local ecology has been placed under no threat. Wild creatures like pixies may be freely hunted unless stated specifically otherwise.
The law is very clear. Stealing the possessions of another is prohibited. The filigree cage was even damaged which is an added offense. The Dauthulscha woman would serve a night imprisoned and pay a small fine to the town for her crime.
As for the pixie itself, there are no laws allowing for the ownership of living being within Tintinnabulis. The pixie was not lawfully property of the other adventurer and so there was no protection for his capture of it and no compensation is required beyond returning the broken cage to him. Any further inquiries are the responsibility of the Rangers Guild, who have already received a report on the entire affair.
Ultimately, he left town after paying half the damages to Nyri’s Inn. She had banned him on account of the sprites harassing him being a bother to the other guests. The matter is officially closed.
Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.
