Dear self,

I got Vamera to begin squeaking in what were almost words. She seems to learn quickly but as of now she still sounds like someone who barely knew every fifth word in a new language. I suspect she was a full sapient being that was crippled heavily somehow, since a simple process of recovery would explain how she is developing her communication so fast. She must have been a kind of spiritual being to have taken refuge within the Illusory Realm, considering she seems heavily reliant on the dreams of Rahph and me. The only things I could get out of her last night was that she wanted me to help her, and that she would need it to fully recover. That’s all I got from her pleading aura and her repetitions of “me” and “helping”.

Those two guys who bought rings from the shop yesterday brought in an interesting artefact. It’s a compass that appears to direct you on the best path towards reaching a location or object it is attuned to. The divination construct guiding it is incredible powerful, so it can tap into Fate itself to find the most fortuitous path not only in terms of direction, but the things you would encounter along the way if you started walking right then and there. Tis also means that the path it directs you to changes actively as circumstance change.

It is limited to attuned objects with a second interwoven attunement with the one who attuned with those objects. This means I cannot personally use it to find any of the objects it has been attuned to, but it might easily be attuned to willing subjects so that you can find individuals using it.

The other item was a much simpler ethereal sack that could contain heavy weights with ease, and without burdening the carrier. It uses a little bit of planar phasing to allow a greater volume to be contained as well but no where near what a bad with dimensional alterations is capable of. It’s quite an understandable limitation as it is exceedingly difficult to create permanent dimensional spaces while avoiding making them vulnerable to Voidbringers and other Outer beings.

The cloak I am making is faring well. I can sense it’s magic growing. Wondrous magic has the great advantage of growing in power over time. I just need to guide the Opus into developing into effective functions and useful abilities. It will be done by next month, and I might even incorporate it into my Nightgloom ritual during the New Moon. When I showed Tori after we brought him home he said he could already feel it making my aura more mysterious and subduing my presence passively. The displacement glamour is working but is only projecting its image of me a span away, and it doesn’t avoid projecting into other objects and furniture yet.

Tori said he had fun with the Whirlstorms, and he said he wanted a Teetotum like I had make for little Erelise and Selthen. Our house was too filled with magical items for such an overburdened enchantment to survive, so I would have to disappoint him. He said the toy kept spinning towards someone and the falling onto one of its sides when it reached them. It was likely the magic struggling to function properly, but the kids supposedly enjoyed it. They would run away and let it chase them to keep it spinning for longer. The little squeaks it makes seems to have endeared it to them, and made Tori tell the other children of how he had a bird voice, which they apparently refused to believe, having not heard of it from the other townsfolk somehow.

We’re not sure how to find the other eldritch creature that seems to be nearby. We all jointly confirmed that the Nightgloom essence from the ritual Mother performed should have dissipated if there hadn’t been another one, but that does not mean we know how to find it. Our current plan is to create a divination for the second rift as well as the eldritch creature to empower the evocation with multiple targets and hope those two are in the same place. If they are not in the same place the divinations will actually be less powerful than a singular one but our assumption is that the entity would be drawn by the rift.
