17th Light beneath the eleventh Moon

3761 Cycles beyond the Dark

722 Years after the Repentance

Entry: 1/035

Dear self,

I had that weird dream again. The sun was definitely just hovering slightly above the big rock in the circle of charred grass. I tried to get to it but when I got close the rock seemed to enlarge into a hill and grow into a mountain as I tried to climb it. What was a rock ideal for lounging in the sunlight turned into a sheer cliffside with treacherous handholds.

I gave up after I climbed higher than the clouds; whimsical dream logic somehow translated in the arduous climb up and down still feeling like an eternity in my memory even though I would never have so much willpower to pursue a Sisyphean task.

Rahph was in the blackened clearing as always. It took a while to find him because his obsidian scales made him blend in with the charred grass and he was sitting as still as only a lizard can. Only his head was poking out of the hole he was lying in. He gave me a bird-like stare from the side when I came closer.

With nothing interesting around my mind wandered out of the clearing into the surrounding trees. The plants were mostly bushes and the short thin branched trees every now and then. They reached low and got in the way but they were very spread out most of the time. There were a lot of thorny plants. I woke up just after a memory of slight pain in my leg and then looking down to see a tuft of prickly looking grass reaching my ankle. The grass had these seeds that dislodged to be carried away by passing animals, the issue was that they were basically thorns and hooked into my pants as I walked by, stabbing through the fabric into my flesh. There were thorn-like seeds in my soles as well when I lifted my foot for inspection.

I did not feel rested at all in the morning. I kept losing focus on controlling my disruption ability, but oddly it became easier to use with a few hours of my unfocused state. I must have circumvented some sort of mental block in controlling it.

The magical hat went right off the shelf as a couple people entered the shop. I didn’t get to see who it was that made the commission, but it was some woman from another town. I made another batch of Daylight potions for Nyri, but my stash of Noonsheen is running low so I think I’ll stop making more for in case I need the essence for something more urgent.

Two people came in with more items I was responsible for. If I can get the last of these refund items sorted out and get my suspension lifted it would definitely help with making the evasion cloak I have planned. Working enchantments with a restricted manifold is a pain.

The first artefact was a statue that might take me a few days to analyze, but the second item was a masterwork knife that had a newer working added to it to keep it pristine. From what I can see there had been a previous enchantment that had faded and the new one had been added over. The working is not entirely as integrated with the physical object as it should be and the older working is interfering with the anchor. I could perhaps use the Dawdlium we gathered recently to help with removing the faded enchantment without seriously disrupting the newer one.

With my Incuria less controlled than usual I couldn’t risk starting on the wondrous item formation for the evasion cloak today. I instead started by drawing a grounding circle to help concentrate the magic and keep anything from leaking out, or in. I also prepared a potion using Blitterleaf and Nightgloom and infused it into a gem of Amberglass. I used a lot of Nightgloom since I have so much of it from this month alone and it is a perfect essence for use in an evasion cloak even just for clarifying the intent. The Blitterleaf will help with the glamour component of the eventual cloak and might even complement the Nightgloom enough to allow both shadow and light manipulation for added potency with illusions.

Hope we fare well.

Regards,

Me.
