Since the Warring States period, Beijing has had the atmosphere of a capital city. After experiencing the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as later periods, it is truly a capital city of six dynasties.
Chen Xu came to the capital for the first time. Unfortunately, at this time, there was no longer that kind of atmosphere in future generations. It felt desolate; in fact, not only in the capital but also anywhere he went except Shanghai.
"I am Paul."
As soon as Chen Xu entered the city, a German greeted him immediately.
"I am the curator of the German Museum. From today on you are our staff at The German Museum."
"Okay!" Chen Xu nodded. Paul was contacted by Schmidt to assist him in finding The Seal of State.
The Seal of State was carved from peerless jade "He Shi Bi" after Qin Shihuang unified six countries with eight characters written on it: "Receiving mandate from heaven and longevity". It is a symbol of legitimacy throughout history.
However few people know that this seal was also an artifact refined by Qin Shihuang using special treasures made from Daqin's national fortune with its original intention being used to suppress Daqin and make it last forever.
Unexpectedly just after its completion The Seal became cursed into terracotta warriors by Ziyuan's witchcraft curse.
"I have found out where The Seal Of State is located specifically; it is inside The Palace Museum." Paul said again.
"Okay!" Chen Xu nodded without saying much else.
Seeing that Chen Xu didn't want to talk anymore Paul did not continue discussing either but secretly speculated which warlord he might be in his heart instead.
In fact although Germany now approaches collapse they are still considered powerful country through Chinese eyes so Germans here have privileges and can only be commanded by those big warlords.
"Are you from The German Museum?" Three men in military uniforms walked towards them.
"Yes." Paul went up to negotiate. "We are from The German Museum and have come to visit China's Seal of State."
Three men in military uniforms, one of them took out a black and white photo from his bag and compared it to Paul. He nodded and said, "You are Mr. Paul, the curator of the German Museum. But who are these two with you?"
"They are staff members of the German Museum who came with me to visit the Imperial Seal," explained Paul.
"No, the order above is for you alone to visit the Imperial Seal. No other people are allowed," said one of the military men.
In this era of warlords, there were forces supported by Japan, Russia, and Britain but none by Germany.
Germany had already withdrawn its influence from China after losing World War I. In reality, it was unlikely for them to protect their interests.
These military men did not belong to any warlord faction and seemed to have no respect for Germans.
Normally Chen Xu would be pleased that there was such a fearless army towards foreigners but he wasn't happy now.
"We want to see the Imperial Seal," Chen Xu's eyes flashed red as he hypnotized them.
The three military men were dazed for a moment before nodding their heads saying: "Okay, please follow me."
"How did they suddenly change their minds?" asked Paul in surprise.
The military men who just refused entry now granted access; it was too sudden a change.
"Could it be that this person in front of us is someone important?" speculated Paul inwardly. In his mind only an important figure could make these soldiers change so quickly.
Under guidance from three military men they arrived at museum which Chen Xu knew nothing about what museums looked like in future times but he knew this museum was luxurious since it was located within palace grounds itself as an exhibit piece.
"The Imperial Seal is inside but Miss Xie is currently viewing it."
"Miss Xie?" Chen Xu vaguely guessed how they were stopped earlier on.
"Weren't others forbidden entry?" A pleasant female voice came from inside, getting closer.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
A woman in military uniform walked out followed by a burly man in black military uniform. She was an outstanding beauty and also a soldier.
Some people are naturally resistant to hypnosis due to their strong mental power, making it difficult for ordinary hypnotic methods to work on them. Others have a strong will and are simply not susceptible to hypnosis.
However, soldiers who have experienced the horrors of war possess an exceptional level of willpower. Having been through battles and baptized in blood, they not only possess unwavering determination but also carry a sense of killing intent. If an ordinary hypnotist were to attempt to hypnotize such individuals, not only would they fail but their own abilities would also decline.
But Chen Xu is different. With his combination of hypnosis and magic, he can easily overcome resistance from even regular soldiers. Only those who have fought countless battles and killed so many that they've become crazed demons cannot be hypnotized by him.
However, the burly man standing before him doesn't seem like someone who has gone mad from killing.
It's important to note that many soldiers who go overboard with killing on the battlefield end up suppressing their urge to kill after leaving it behind; however, some eventually lose control and become violent killers at any provocation - these types are truly terrifying.
"Hypnotize me?" Thunder's mouth twisted into a terrifying smile as he spoke: "Back when General brought in a master hypnotist for my treatment...he ended up going insane himself! Hahaha..."
"Only now do you look like a madman." Chen Xu also smiled, but unlike the terrifying smile of thunder, his smile was gentle and refreshing. "Come on, let me touch you."
Chen Xu's voice was like a spell that penetrated Thunder's mind without regard for Thunder's own will and directly pierced his soul.
In an instant, Chen Xu suffered a backlash from the evil spirit, with endless illusions enveloping him.
This is slaughter; this is the slaughter of the battlefield. Blood and fire raged while shells flew everywhere. If an ordinary person were caught in such a situation, they would probably be scared out of their wits.
The hypnotist back then accidentally suffered from these evil spirits during hypnosis and went crazy thinking he was still on the battlefield.
"Small illusions can't harm me," Chen Xu sneered. However, he did not rush to dispel the illusion but instead strolled around on the battlefield.
This is an illusion as well as Thunder's spiritual projection. It represents what he has experienced before. Through these illusions, Chen Xu can understand his soul better and find opportunities to subdue him.
Yes, Chen Xu had taken notice of him - this man who could punch through thin air with just one fist possessed terrifying strength that allowed him to reach such heights through regular training alone; he was truly a genius among geniuses!
Those special forces soldiers in later generations would probably be killed within seconds if they fought against him!
Shells hit his body but passed right through it; knives stabbed into his body but also passed right through it; people collided with him but again passed right through it - everything that touched him simply passed straight through!
This is just an illusion - unreal things cannot attack reality at least not for Thunder anyway.
The scene changed from bloody battlefields to laboratories: white walls surrounded by white iron cages where dozens of military personnel attacked each other like madmen, having killed many people on the battlefield and driven themselves insane. Now they were gathered together in a cage like gladiators.
A man in a white coat recorded data while several men in military uniforms stood outside looking imposing.
"Kill each other; whoever wins gets to leave."
With this command, the Shura killing field was opened: roars of anger, sounds of fists hitting flesh, coughing up blood - these elite killing machines from the military began to slaughter each other.
After who knows how long, almost everyone inside had died except for two people still fighting with their bare fists without any defense.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Two burly soldiers collided with each other fiercely, and one of them fell to the ground with a loud bang. The winner was Thunder.
"It's like raising gu, the winner is the Gu King, and this Gu King is Thunder!"
The scene changed again. Thunder raised his fist, blood splattered everywhere, and there were corpses lying on the ground including soldiers in military uniforms and white coats as well as those dignified men in uniform.
The scene disappeared, and Chen Xu returned to reality.
"What happened to you?" The woman in military uniform asked coldly.
"You actually hypnotized me." Thunder's face changed suddenly. "You are more powerful than those hypnotists."
After coming down from the battlefield, he had sought many hypnotists for treatment but they all failed miserably. They either became insane or suffered from mental illness which made no one dare to help him treat himself anymore.
"Your mind is sick." Chen Xu smiled slightly.
"You know it!"
If it were an ordinary person who was told by Chen Xu like that would definitely get angry but Thunder knew himself very well; he really had a problem with his mind just like other crazy soldiers who couldn't adapt to such life after retiring from service. He always lost control of his anger easily and killed people at any slight dissatisfaction - slapping over or punching through someone until death occurred frequently.
So he became a bodyguard killing anyone who dissatisfied him so as to vent out his anger inside him.
"You should control yourself." Chen Xu's voice carried magic power while continuing hypnosis on Thunder: "If you can't control your heart then you will become evil."
"Come on look at my hand." Chen Xu shook her hand in front of thunder’s eyes
"Do you want to hypnotize me? It's not that easy!" A terrifying smile appeared on Thunder’s face; he wanted to kill someone.
"Why do you always succumb to the desires in your heart?" Chen Xu sighed and withdrew her hand, shouting loudly: "Zha!"
Thunder was shocked by the sudden thunderbolt that exploded beside him. Although Chen Xu didn't intend to use violence at first, Thunder's non-cooperation forced her to use extreme means.
"Come on follow my rhythm." She clapped her hands rhythmically.
Thunder was stunned by Chen Xu’s ‘zha’ sound and then followed his teacher's rhythm instinctively.
"What are you doing?" The woman in military uniform saw something wrong and also took action.
"Don't interfere with my teacher." Suleiman blocked the way of the woman in military uniform, chanting spells. Black mist rose up from it, densely packed sacred beetles crawled out of it which were similar to what Chen Xu had done.
