Chapter 19:Honor belongs to the gods, and strength belongs to me

It was the winter of 1923, and the sea was calm. The clear sky and lazy sun made people want to sleep.

Chen Xu sat on the ship with slightly narrowed eyes, focusing his attention on the Sun Gold Sutra in front of him. Unlike the Necromancer's Black Scripture, the Sun Gold Sutra did not have much power, but it contained almost infinite knowledge.

If the Necromancer's Black Scripture contained power, then what was inside the Sun Gold Sutra was knowledge that controlled that power. Through these two books, Chen Xu had become more adept at controlling his own internal strength. He was no longer just an apprentice priest facing Imhotep; he was about to enter into "Black Iron" territory.

Every time he watched the Sun Gold Sutra, Chen Xu saw different content. Each time he watched it, he felt like his knowledge was expanding infinitely. Even with his brain resembling a computer due to crossing over from another world, he couldn't absorb all this knowledge at once. When he got tired or exhausted from watching it for too long without rest breaks in between sessions ,he would take a break; otherwise that unlimited amount of information would destroy everything.

"I establish my kingdom in emptiness and operate rules together with my god."

Suddenly a text appeared before Chen Xu's eyes out of nowhere causing him to feel immediately exhausted.

"I can't rest...I can't rest," he reminded himself.

Each time Chen Xu watched something new appeared within its pages which gave him a premonition: if he missed any part of it now then there might be no chance later on down-the-line when needed most!

"The kingdom of death is mine - our fantasy world will be our playground covering everything from past present future."

With a sudden burst of energy followed by laughter tinged with blood spilling forth from his mouth onto white skin ashen face looking back up at the sky, Chen Xu finally couldn't take it anymore.

"The kingdom of death should refer to the underworld, and my country is the one ruled by Ra," he said with a smile. "There was once a saying that all Egyptian gods were extensions of Ra; it seems this statement has some basis in fact."

"What does his next sentence mean? Could the fantasy world be referring to our own?" Chen Xu thought as he felt like his head was about to explode. His brain cells had been damaged due to exhaustion from overthinking things too much.

Rubbing his temples, Chen Xu decided to give up on trying to decipher what these words meant for now even though he had a premonition that they might have something important related directly back towards him personally later down-the-line.

The intuition of someone with power is different from that of an ordinary person - their intuition is almost always accurate and can predict future events with great precision.

"Teacher." Sulaiman looked worriedly at his teacher but didn't dare approach him any closer than three meters away since Chen Xu had previously warned him not do so while watching Sun Gold Sutra.

"I'm fine." Rubbing his temple with one hand while holding both books together (Sun Gold Sutra & Necromancer's Black Scripture) in another hand stacked atop each other vertically between fingers tips then thumb tip below them respectively before asking: "Where are we now?"

"We're in the East China Sea and will soon be landing in Shanghai," Sulaiman replied respectfully.

"Shanghai?" Chen Xu's gaze fell on the sea not far away, looking somewhat dazed. At this time in history, although Qing Dynasty rule had already fallen apart leaving behind remnants of its evil deeds yet unresolved still lingering around within society today; Sun Yat-sen may have risen up as leader but clearly did not know how best save China being influenced heavily by Japan instead who were already expanding their own ambitions.

"Since this world is a movie world, then the Tomb of the Dragon Emperor from The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor should also exist."

"It's time to awaken them. This country needs a new king, and I will awaken him."

Chen Xu's gaze became firm as he thought about his dream and ambition. He had to wake up the Dragon Emperor and use his army to sweep across China, wiping out all those with braids or white skin pigs along with Japanese people.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

"Haha... laughter echoed, along with some chattering voices that instantly dampened Chen Xu's mood.

"Go ask them what they're saying," Chen Xu whispered.

In this world, the benefits brought by crossing over required him to learn ancient Egyptian, French, German and other languages of mainstream countries in the future. However, he deliberately did not learn two languages: Japanese and Korean. The former was unnecessary in his eyes while the latter was also deemed unnecessary.

The chattering voices just now were indeed Japanese spoken by a group of ronin wearing hemp clothes and straw sandals.

"Yes, teacher." Sulaiman respectfully answered before strutting over - Chen Xu had told him to be humble when facing his teacher but proud when dealing with others as he should always remember that he was a noble priest among nobles.

Chen Xu closed his eyes to let his brain rest temporarily for better recovery of strength. He didn't know how long it took until he was awakened by more chattering sounds. When he looked up, Sulaiman was arguing with two Japanese people which caused the commotion earlier.

"Sulaiman," Chen Xu called out.

Sulaiman immediately left the two Japanese people behind and ran over to stand beside Chen Xu obediently while those two laughed at their victory.

"What's going on?" Chen Xu narrowed his eyes at the two Japanese people who showed no remorse despite being guilty according to history since they would launch brutal invasions against China soon enough causing various horrific massacres events.

He couldn't tell which one participated in which war or massacre so all he could do is destroy their country and eradicate their race if necessary.

"They said Chinese are all sick men from East Asia and we Egyptians are slaves too so I..."

"Shut up!" Chen Xu suddenly shouted causing Sulaiman to tremble where he stood waiting for punishment from his teacher while those two became even more pleased. They continued to speak in Japanese that Chen Xu couldn't understand while laughing non-stop.

"Remember, when someone insults you, your response should not be argument but..." Black mist emerged from under Chen Xu's feet and beetles crawled out of it towards the two Japanese people.

Summoning sacred beetles was a low-level magic that could summon carnivorous scarabs to devour all living creatures seen leaving only bones behind.

"Kill them."

The sacred beetles gradually engulfed the two Japanese people who screamed before suddenly disappearing leaving behind piles of bones.

Hearing their screams, people on deck rushed over to see what happened and were frightened by the still present sacred beetles screaming one after another.

"Remember, you are a priest. Insulting you is equivalent to insulting the gods which makes those who insult them heretics. Heretics need to be devoured by sacred beetles with their souls sent into eternal torment in hell."

Chen Xu waved his hand causing the sacred beetles to disperse while a cold wind blew past them.

"In the name of Anubis, sacrifice these souls before us for power from beyond."

A faint red light slowly covered the bones of both Japanese people as an unknown force flowed through Chen Xu's body then subsided back into silence.

"Sulaiman, you have disappointed me."

"Yes, teacher, I was wrong." Sulaiman lowered his head and waited for the punishment that Chen Xu was about to give.

"Do you know where you went wrong?" Chen Xu didn't lay a hand on him, just stood there looking at him. "I have high expectations of you. You are my first disciple. In the future, you will inherit my power and knowledge and continue the responsibility of passing down the priesthood of ancient Egypt."

"Teacher," Sulaiman's head hung low with tears rolling down his face.

"Tell me where you went wrong!" Chen Xu suddenly shouted.

"I was wrong not to take action against them," Sulaiman said loudly. "They insulted my glory as a priest, but as a priest myself, I did not punish them. This is blasphemy."

"That's right," Chen Xu said sternly. "Priests represent the gods; we are their spokespersons in this world. Insulting us is insulting the gods themselves, so we must punish anyone who dares to insult them."

"Even if that person is a pharaoh or even someone from the most noble bloodline, they must be punished."

"This is our pride as priests."

"I understand." Chen Xu's expression softened slightly. "You have a kind nature and don't like to use violence easily, but you should know that this world doesn't only exist for kindness alone. If no one protects those who are kind-hearted, they too will fall into corruption."

"And we priests should replace the gods in nurturing all living beings by protecting good people and punishing evil ones. The Japanese people - this foolish race - naturally carry genes of sin within their blood; they shouldn't exist in this world."

Sulaiman felt chills run through him as he firmly remembered his teacher's words.

"So we should eliminate them and clear out all trash from this world."

"Yes teacher! I understand now. From now on, when I see Japanese people, I will sacrifice them to the god of death Anubis," Sulaiman vowed.

"That's right. As cleaners of trash, we should also receive offerings." Chen Xu smiled slightly.

As a priest, his connection with the gods was very close. It was almost impossible for him to advance through his own strength alone; therefore sacrificing others was a good choice.

But sacrifices required dead bodies. If he were to massacre other people on a large scale in this world, he would inevitably become an enemy of the entire world and some hidden old monsters might not sit idly by - he didn't believe that there was only one remaining power like ancient Egypt in this world. Not to mention that woman who protected the tomb of the Dragon Emperor; she was definitely still alive and probably a monster herself.

Relying on war as a means of sacrifice was undoubtedly an excellent solution. The Second World War and massacring Japanese people were all ways to gain power. He suddenly remembered a saying: "Glory belongs to the gods while power belongs to me."
