Chen Xu and Zi Yuan parted ways, but Chen Xu knew that they had an understanding between them. Their understanding would last until the resurrection of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. After his resurrection, their understanding would no longer exist.
"However, before that happens, I need to guard against Zi Yuan's assassination attempts," Chen Xu thought to himself.
He had watched the movie and knew that Zi Yuan had made a sword to kill Emperor Qin Shi Huang. She could use this sword to kill him and prevent his resurrection.
"But I won't let you kill Emperor Qin Shi Huang."
He needed to plan carefully before taking action. He reviewed the plot of "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" in his mind and narrowed his eyes.
Zi Yuan had a daughter who was also immortal after drinking from the Fountain of Youth. However, compared with her mother, she was clearly not a witch and was just an inexperienced young girl who hadn't gained any combat experience despite living for thousands of years - it was unbelievable.
"Xiao Lin is not a concern but we still need to be cautious and not give her any chance."
Countless scarab beetles emerged from underfoot through hidden drainage measures as they searched for Zi Yuan.
These scarab beetles were summoned by him naturally bearing his mark; he could easily attach his will onto them making them into extensions of himself acting as additional eyes on site monitoring every move made by Zi Yuan so as not give her or anyone else any opportunity to assassinate Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
Shanghai's sewers were dirty with numerous twists and turns which can confuse those unfamiliar with its layout; however there were many scarab beetles available at hand which allowed easy access throughout these sewers while extending their reach across various locations via underground tunnels without drawing attention from others since people often mistook these creatures for dung beetles due their similar appearance being part of same species. However, scarab beetles were carnivorous and their meat-eating habits were terrifying - even more so than African cannibal ants; they were one of the main tools used by priests in ancient Egypt and also a symbol of their power.
Most importantly, their mouths were very hard and could easily gnaw through wooden boards or similar materials when commanded to do so. Of course, they didn't like eating wood unless ordered to do so.
Soon enough, Chen Xu found Zi Yuan's location. They were in what appeared to be a large courtyard that was decorated with an antique style.
"You need to follow that person and watch him find Emperor Qin Shi Huang. When you have the chance, kill Emperor Qin Shi Huang for your father's revenge."
"But be careful; his heart is as hard as iron and he is an extreme Chinese nationalist who treats his own people kindly but cruelly towards foreigners."
"If necessary, you can beg for mercy. I believe he won't harm you."
"Mother, is he really that powerful?" Xiao Lin asked Zi Yuan - her daughter born from her relationship with the general who was also immortal after drinking from the Fountain of Youth.
Chen Xu attached his will onto the scarab beetle which allowed him to eavesdrop on all their conversations.
"This woman sees right through me," Chen Xu sneered coldly.
He treated foreigners like pigs or dogs while treating Japanese people worse than criminals; however, he treated his fellow countrymen equally regardless of status or background.
But Zi Yuan made a mistake in saying that he was merciful because instead he was strict just like how Buddha had both compassion and wrath within him; likewise Chen Xu possessed such qualities too.
Chinese people are kind-hearted individuals whom if left alone would not cause any trouble but if provoked then it would result in them fighting back without hesitation against those who oppress them unjustly.
Goodness versus evilness isn't independent but rather complementary to each other. Evil people can have good intentions while kind-hearted individuals also possess the means to kill just like how yin and yang complement each other.
"But do you think that this is enough for you to use me? Wrong, very wrong! I won't let myself be used by you; instead, it will be the opposite - you'll be used by me," Chen Xu muttered as he stopped monitoring Zi Yuan and focused on studying the Sun Golden Sutra.

He never misses any opportunity to improve his knowledge. His brain is like a pond, constantly absorbing drops of knowledge from the vast sea of information, strengthening himself. He firmly believes that one day he will uncover all secrets, but before that day comes, he needs diligence and good time management.
"Sacrifice is the only way to reach God. It's not about sacrificing for God, it's about sacrificing for oneself."
The Sun Gold Scripture always reveals secrets of the gods which makes Chen Xu less devout towards them even though he was not originally a faithful believer in Egyptian gods.
"When sacrifices disappear, so do the gods."
The inexplicable text describes bold facts that make Chen Xu feel suffocated.
He can almost feel a fierce god staring at him with an evil look and ready to slaughter him at any moment despite it being just an illusion.
"The path from man to god has never been smooth sailing. Blasphemy is only primitive - Moses."
Moses! Chen Xu's heart beats faster as he wonders who Moses is - a great sage who led slaves out of Egypt in "Exodus" and was considered its protagonist.
He was the first person to sense and believe in God and spread His name while performing miracles such as parting the Red Sea through divine intervention.
In Eastern novels, the first pope often represents God Himself whether by divine manifestation or transformation from human form into deity. Moses could be called the first pope because he spread God's name, radiance and brought believers along with Him.
"Why does The Sun Gold Scripture record Moses' quotes? And why are they so blasphemous?"
Chen Xu feels his speculation may be wrong or perhaps mythological legends have misled him; however, as he gets closer to truth danger looms ahead since armed conflict marks only beginning whereas slaughtering by deities signifies finality.
Closing The Sun Gold Scripture book causes sweat on his forehead. He realizes he has been sweating profusely without noticing.
"Teacher, are you okay?" Solomon looks at his teacher with concern.
Chen Xu's face was covered in sweat just now and the drops fell on the bed, soaking it which made him worried and scared.
"I'm fine." Chen Xu waves his hand while looking at The Sun Gold Scripture book feeling a mixture of fear and hope that he cannot explain.
"Sacrifice? Sacrificing oneself to become a god? What kind of nonsense is this?"
"But if Moses said this quote, then why not give it a try?"
A thought pops up in Chen Xu's mind which scares him even more. Although he does not believe in Egyptian gods nor have necessary faith towards them, reverence always exists within him for all deities and great powers. However, such awe never stops him from moving forward; instead, it motivates him to surpass himself.
"Moses? I'll walk your path too and see if what you said is true. Ha ha! I've never been a coward."
Chen Xu opens The Sun Gold Scripture book again but this time sees new knowledge:
"The gods are fragile beings who remain trapped by powerful pursuers on their plane of existence unable to break free or create kingdoms in voids."
"This is their decline but our fortune as successors who will join us on the road to slay these gods."
"No need for reverence or fear since the gods are not omnipotent."
Looking at The Sun Gold Scripture book causes an enormous wave inside Chen Xu's heart.
"Could it be that this isn't written by the gods themselves but rather by those who killed them?"
According to Egyptian mythology, the Book of the Dead should consist of both the Golden Sun Book and the Black Book of the Dead. They contain spells, incantations, and true names and words of gods. However, it seems that only the Black Book is accurate as it contains a large number of ancient Egyptian spells and incantations. On the other hand, contrary to its description, the Golden Sun Book does not record true names and words of gods but instead instigates those who hold it to walk on a path towards deicide.
"Weakness is original sin; strength is glory; deicide is greatness. Come on newcomers! Let's embark together on this great and glorious path."
Chen Xu closed then reopened The Golden Sun Book again. As expected, its contents changed once more.
"I am Moses. Those who believe in me, love me and follow my path will receive my protection. You and I have agreed upon ten commandments which we must abide by."
Ten Commandments! Chen Xu's heart was like a stormy sea that could not be calmed.
The Ten Commandments were an agreement between God and man - an agreement shared by both God himself as well as Western ancestors - where they promised never to abandon each other: people would trust in God while He would protect them forevermore.
Even The Ten Commandments appeared here! My guess was right yet wrong at the same time.
God left Egypt but Moses wasn't just His messenger; he was God Himself - high priest, deicide perpetrator- someone who wanted to become a god by killing one!
He stole faith for himself; he sacrificed himself; he led slaves out from Egypt seeking new land where they could rest easy with their covenant together.
Thinking about how many people believed in Him later made Chen Xu wipe his sweat away.
It was clear that all Egyptian gods had disappeared while God prospered under Moses' leadership. So, would he still let newcomers walk the same path as him?
Cutting off the road ahead and leaving no way out for others was something Chen Xu never minded doing with his malicious speculations about people. And this Moses - or God Himself - was within that range of suspicion.
What puzzled him though was if Moses was God, then who is Jesus? Historically speaking, this guy stole God's faith! Before Jesus appeared, there wasn't even a symbol for God but after He came along, it became equivalent to hanging a cross with His image on it. No matter how you look at it, this is not an ingenious theft.
"Could it be that like me he too is a newcomer and deicide perpetrator? Moreover, did he kill God and replace Moses?"
