Chapter 0037

Chapter 0037

After doing a silent jig in her heart, Leviene got back to the important question: Is the crazy lady going to allow her to turn in her quest?

Leviene is afterall a person who knows her priorities.

First will always be her man. She’s going to hold on tightly to any man who can survive her crazy family and love her as much as she will love him. The odds of her finding someone that fits her criteria are slim to none, but hey, a girl gotta have hope. The alternative is too terrifying to think of.

Second is her family.

Third is money. At times, when those crazy bastard drive her up the wall, money is second and family becomes a distant third. Looking at Leviene’s action towards money and her impressive background, no one can understand why she desire money as she does. Leviene doesn’t understand it either, but her ghost does. They later told Leviene reincarnation is real and 98 out of 100 times, she’s born poor and 9 out of the 99 times she’s born poor, she stays poor.

Finally, any goals she set that directly benefit her is her fourth priority.

“Ahem. Dearest Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar, I was given a quest to find you and have done so. Please certify that my quest has been complete.” Leviene doesn’t know how to turn in a quest so she might as well toss the ball to Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar.

Maybe it was because she was punished by the System or maybe because just wanted to get it over with, Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar allowed Leviene to complete her quest.

[System]: Quest - In search of Honor: Complete

[System]: Player Leviene gain 10 experience point.

What? Only 10 experience points. Leviene looked like she was about to cry.

When Leviene acts like herself, she is perceived as a book worm - intelligent yet lacking in social etiquette or streets smarts. When she goes a begging, she look like a sad puppy abandoned in the rain. When she is about to cry, she is plain ugly.

Few people are immune to Leviene’s tears. Not only do they have to witness the most adorable baby turn into the possessed girl from the Exorcist, they have to avoid fat tears and chunks of snot flying left and right.

Luckily, Leviene held back her disappointment and consoled herself with, “Easy come, easy go.” She didn’t put much effort into the quest, therefore she didn’t get a big reward in return. It’s just that.. It’s just that Leviene has to postpone her grinding effort for the quest.

Oh hell.

Dignity be damn.

Leviene was getting ready for a bawl fest complete with temper tantrum, tears and the ugly crying face when Honor Lady Valdis of Tainsoar said, “Congratulation on completing your quest. I acknowledge your luck is quite good when you bumped into me earlier. Perhaps your luck is what I need.”

[System]: Quest - Remnants of a Great House.

The once Great House of Tainsoar fell into ruin when the 22nd Duke of Tainsoar rebelled against the Emperor and was sentenced to death. The once grand estate of the Duke of Tainsoar was looted and the land was reclaimed by the crown.

Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar request you search for the Amulet of Endless Love, a necklace the first Duke of Tainsoar gave to his wife on their first anniversary.

Do you accept: [Yes] [No]

Leviene sniffled when she saw the quest objective. The short Perrian Let sneaked a peek at Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar then glance back at her quest then back at Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar then back at her quest.

Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar couldn’t stand the pathetic woe-is-me look the child is giving her. Remnants of a Great House was the easiest quest she could hand out. She was already generous with the child and yet the child looks at her as if she was the most cruel woman alive, making her choose between the life of her dog or the life her cat!

“Speak up child!”

“Is...is there a time limit on the quest?” Leviene mumbled her question with an embarrassed face.

“No.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar spit out with impatience. What is wrong with this child? Was the window she was pushed out of when she learned how to fly too low that she bashed her head and lost all sense of logic? The large Perrian Let vowed to give a proper scolding to the child’s mother later.

A child.

A child of her own. How good will it be to have a child of her own.

Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar silently wince. It’ll never happen.

But she can always pretend. Pretend this miniature look a like is her daughter. Their wings look alike. The short Perrian Let’s wing is a miniature version of Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar splendid beauties.

“You… um… you won’t make it hard on me right?” Leviene persisted with her questioning although the hint of happiness in her blue eyes were unmistakable.

Exasperated, Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar gritted out, “I have better things to do than to humiliate a child.”

The duo stared at each other, one waiting for the other to accept the quest, the other waiting for other shoe to fall on her head.

1 minute later, the duo still stares at each other.

10 minutes later, the due still stares at each other.

15 minutes later a “What is wrong with you?” can be heard from a frustrated Perrian Let as she had a stared down with a miniature version of herself, albeit with purple hair instead of black.

Leviene sniffled as if Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar was bullying her. Tears appeared at the corner of her blue eyes, protesting the act of oppression, yet unwilling to show her ignominy by falling.

Standing beside the frail child crying silently, the beautiful Perrian Let felt like an ogre attempting to destroy an innocent child in the middle of the road. She didn’t even do anything beside trying to hurry the little brat along by giving her the easiest quest available. How can the sniveling brat look as if she was being degraded by receiving a quest?

“Spit it out!” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar has lost all patience with the short Perrian Let and her evasiveness.

“I can never find anything I’m looking for unless there is a step by step instruction and even then I’m a failure.” Leviene wailed out her flaws. As if a burden has been lifted off her shoulders, the directionally challenged Perrian Let continued with her experiences, “Once, I went whale watching with my relatives. They pointed out a whale for me to see and I leaned over the side of the boat because I couldn’t see what they were pointing to. Do you know what a whale is? No? Whales are a diverse group of aquatic mammals with the Blue Whale holding the title as the largest mammal on Earth. They are like 60 feet long. AND. I. CAN’T. SEE. IT. 3. FEET. IN. FRONT. OF. ME!”

“You have problems with your sight?”

“Have you been listening?” Leviene berated Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar like a teenager crying to their parents when they notice the parents aren’t listening to their angst.

“I have. Who can’t hear you when you’re yelling like a Wailing Rooster at the crack of dawn?”

“Then you understand why I’ll never be able to complete your quest no matter how hard I try.” Leviene finally got to the crux of her problem. It is truly the greatest shame of her life.
