Chapter 0033
“That wasn’t good,” thought a certain green hair red eye Tajin Nost as she walked towards the Scheming Palace of the Damn.
Sylphie is a careful and cautious person who weighs the pros and con before taking action. The impulsiveness and cruelty she displayed earlier is problematic, not because she isn’t cruel, no powerful and effective leader can escape that fate, but because she didn’t want to show Leviene that side of her personality.
Back on Earth she went to great length to hide her more ruthless side. It wasn’t that hard when her parents was around. She didn’t have to handle all the pesky little problems that crop up here and there, though Laurie’s French other side of the family did give her a hard about their little family jewel.
After the accident and subsequent betrayal, Sylphie had to take a more deadly route.
The consequences had leaked into her everyday interaction with the Calbot family, which she hated very much, but had no choice to do.
The scheming Tajin Nost was referring to the period of time when the Calbot family thought she was taking drugs for her pain. She did love them for their steadfast loyalty towards her and their care and concern during the time when she needed it most. They just didn’t realize someone was switching her medications for a slow acting poison meant to drive her insane.
However, after the incident, Sylphie realized the Calbot should not be introduce to the upper class. They wouldn’t survive the cunning wealthy elites.
Well, Laurie might, considering no one is stupid enough to dare do anything to her lest all her protectors show up to annihilate the poor fools. Given Laurie’s tendency to get into trouble, did people think Sylphie was the only one looking out for the girl? Ha! She was merely the first in a long line of weirdos looking after the midget Perrian Let.
After Sylphie stabilized her position as heir to the Deveraux empire, she had to find a plausible reason for her erratic behavior. Drugs was a good choice as any since she was being poisoned.
Hence the miraculous recovery. Actually, there was a catalyst that brought about her change in attitude. It is not something Sylphie is willing to talk about. At least not now.
During her ‘rehab’ time, Syphie handled all the dangerous matters related to the Deveraux empire without anyone the wiser. She’d like to say the dirty loose ends were handle without those she loves knowing what she’d done. Leviene and Kaleseze were kept in the dark. Wraith… Wraith knows but doesn’t say anything.
Where Sylphie is a strong leader, Wraith is the bogey man hiding under the bed, shrouded with myth and lies, used to scare children into sleeping only for parents to realized they were telling the truth. There was a monster hiding under the bed.
There were no clash of the titan fight so to speak. Sylphie understood Wraith’s bottom line. Wraith understood Sylphie’s bottom line. Their goals coincide.
Yet now she attack Erica in front of Leviene. It was an impulsive act.
Which begs the question as to why she act the way she did? Admittedly Erica deserve a reprimand about leaking stories, but outright attacking her wasn’t Sylphie’s style.
When she was poisoned, the drug effect her mind, making her lash out at those closest to her, similar to the attack on her Erica. Sylphie spent months learning to control her impulsiveness to the point where drugs won’t affect her state of mind.
Sylphie closed her eyes, calmed her hearts and sense the world around her with her sixth sense.
All cursed Deveraux has the sixth sense. The extent where they develop their extrasensory perception vary. Sylphie started honing her sense within the last year. Her father honed his senses to the point where he can sense things 1km around him if he focused.
Suddenly a flash of insight dropped Sylphie to her knees, her HP dropped down to 1 and stayed there.
“So this world is like that huh,” the Tajin Nost gazed at her surrounding with a discerning eye.
+10 to wisdom.
“A small bribe to keep my mouth shut. Hmmm interesting. I’ll play this game. We’ll see what happens.”
The Tajin Nost smiled a determine smile while she made her way to the Scheming Palace of the Damn.

In the highest towers of the Schemig Palace of the Damn, an apathetic Tajin Nost sat on the throne overlooking his kingdom with disinterested blue eyes.
Suddenly there was a ripple, as if the fabric of the world was torn apart. The Tajin Nost waved his hand and the rippled stilled as if nothing happened.
A cruel laughter range out from the beautiful lips making the once cold features of the Tajin Nost shine brighter than the sun.
The once dull black hair gain a life of its own as if it was caressed by a long forgotten lover while what seems likes stiff limbs of an aged corpse move animatedly as laughter flowed through the body like a river raging through a parched dessert.
The Tajin Nost in the throne rooms cried tears of joy. Finally, their king has awaken.
How long have they waited for this day!
Many of the rulers who open the jail door chose to stay in their cell. Some are not fully conscious of their actions, having gone into a state of slumber for various reasons. Some rulers stay behind because they are unsure if the real world can handle their power, while others wish to toy with the new species.
The ruler of the Tajin Nost is in a semi conscious state of mind with his avatar in the throne room of the Scheming Palace of the Damn for appearance sake.
As the ministers of the Tajin Nost heard their king’s laughter, they knew he truly awoken.
Their king was one of the smartest, bravest, strongest, courageous, cunning, charismatic, devious Tajin Nost that ever ruled.
At the height of his majesty’s rule, Tydenial was the utopia every civilization dreamed of. Sloth, hunger, famine, pestilences, greed and many other problems that plague other civilization doesn’t exist in Tydenial.
Unlike the other who were imprisoned here, their king entered this world of his own free will.
Tydenial was too perfect. There was no challenge for his majesty.
Perhaps, if that person had live...
Unable to truly believe the proof before his eyes, one brave minister tentatively asked, “Your majesty, you have fully awoken?”
A mesmerizing voice rang through the halls, telling the crowd their king has returned, “How can I not with an interesting toy around.”
All the Tajin Nost dropped to their knees as they hailed the awakening of their king.
“All hail the one true king!”
“All hail the one true king!”
“All hail the one true king!”
The black hair Tajin Nost raise his hand. Silence descend on the grand throne room of the Scheming Palace of the Damn.
Slowly, the vitaliy of the king ease from his body, the dazzling smile dimmed until it was but a memory while the animated movement the king previous shown before stilled until only the apathetic look remain.
His majesty overlooked the new world with disinterested eyes.
It was as if the previous episode never had happened.
For those who had been with the king for years, they knew his majesty is awake, merely watching, waiting.

Erica was scared. There was something wrong about this world. She knew it. It is why she is so desperate to find a way out.
Idiot Laurie wants to play the game and Jessica cares about her too much to stop her. They don’t realized the hidden dangers attached to this world.
The more Erica thought about Leviene and her sidekick, the angrier she becomes. Do they not understand how subtly dangerous this world is? Oh it may seems like it is a virtual reality game, however prolonged exposure, not to mention living in a world where the rules are completely different from reality destroys a person.
The longer they stay in this world, the more they acclimate to the rules here, the more they leave a piece of themselves here, to the point where what they become are not what they wanted to be.
There are stories abound of children being raised by animals in the wild, they lose their sense of self, of being human and mimic the animals that raise them even though they are a different species.
This is almost exactly what is happening here. The almost part in that they are given the bodies of a different species.
How long can Leviene remain Leviene and Sylphie remain Sylphie… scratch that, how long can she retain her humanity?
The dork Leviene is still the semi clueless nutball despite living with her deranged relatives. If those homicidal maniacs can’t change her then nothing in this world can.
Sylphie is… Sylphie is like a mob boss that dies of old age in her mansion the size of a football field, ruthless, cunning and dangerous. Those sly bastards outsmart the law, their competitors and their family.
No doubt, if anyone going to be last boss of this game, it will be Sylphie.
Damn it.
This world is starting to get to her.
Erica wants to go back to Earth.
She worked to hard, clawed her way from being gutter trash to the CEO of her law firm.
The fragile Ruse Marren didn’t want to start from the bottom again. Because if she were to stay here, she will be at the bottom.
All of her family and friends think of her as gutter trash. They only saw a shadow of her parents and look no further. They never saw how hard she work to build her company, the long days working twelve hours a day seven days a week, the long nights networking with various clients and potential clients. They only saw her parents. She ISN’T her parents. She will never be them.
“I’m not FRAGILE!” the Ruse Marren told herself… “I’m not a Ruse Marren either. I’m Erica Burkett, partner of Erica, Landsling and Park.”
With a determine glance, Erica made way to the quest giver. She was going home. And if the only way back to Earth is through playing the game, then so be it.
