Chapter 0024
Leviene trained as an Assassin then went to the Guardian trainer, switch to Rayael, trained as a Guardian. Before the little Perrian Let assigned any talent or stat points, Sylphie hailed Leviene, looking amused
“Did you train as your priest yet?” She asked the short Perrian Let. The weird glint in her eyes gave Leviene a pause.
“Yes I did.” Leviene answered cautiously.
“Did you look at your talent trees yet?”
“I was going to do it before you came to bother me.”
“Take at look at the priest spiritual tree.”
Leviene pulled up her talent trees and did as Sylphie ordered. Priest spiritual tree has three subsection, calm, faith and… psychosis. The cautious player went to the psychosis tree first knowing her cousin would not point out something mundane as the calm and faith skill set.
Leviene hovered the virtual cursor over the spells. Addiction: transfer 5% of aggro to the designated person for every point spent. Duration 1 hour. Bipolar - Mania: Increase attack speed by 5% but reduce defense by 10% for 10 seconds. Delusion - Grandeur: Increase self importances of the mob, reducing the aggro radius by 1 meters.
What the hell? Sylphie stared at Leviene intensely when she was checking out the skill tree. She burst out laughing when Leviene realized most of the spells are named after mental illness.
“Ar..Are you go..going to start to psychoanalyzing us? Well Nurse Laurie?” she got out between fits and giggle.
“Shut up!” Leviene yelled at her cousin. It’s not funny. Just because she was studying to be a nurse in real life doesn’t mean Leviene wante to deal with it in virtual reality. The point of games was for people to relax, not become an extension of work!
Sylphie laugh harder. “Calm,” laughter, “Tree,” she got out.
“You have a raucous laugh. Like a hyena.” Leviene gritted out but she promptly change to the calm tree tab. Beside her incessant amusement at Leviene’s expense, she does notice things most do not.
In the second tier of the calm tree, there was a spell to silence other people. Temptation! The experienced glanced at Sylphie literally rolling on the floor laughing. “So interesting to silence her mid laugh. Hope she can’t breathe. Damn it, must resist temptation. Need healing spells.” Leviene reasoned in her mind. With each seconds of prolonged laughter from the idiot on the floor the temptation to put all her talents into the calm tree increase.
Ignoring the loon on the floor, the aggrieved player began to peruse the rest of the talent in the calm tree. Tier one has a sleep and lethargy. Sleep works well as a crowd control spell and it can be used to knock out the moron on the floor. Only down side was the 20 second cast time. Lethargy slows the mob movement speed by 10% for five seconds. Not much but it can be upgraded. For 14 points, the cap it seems, Priest can slow a mob down by 80% of its movement speed for 5 seconds. The duration of the spell can be for 1 second per every point added but the is in second tier.
The priest spiritual faith tree has personal buff, group buff and shield. The Holy tree has a healing subsection, an incursion section and an amplification subsection. “Magic multiplier, stat to spell power conversion, sweet personal buffs. So many choices. I want! I want! I want!” A greedy little Perrian Let began to fantasize about the scenarios where she can lord over or kill anyone who gets in her way.
Not really, but it is a fantasy for a reason. As previously mentioned, Leviene dies to other players a lot, then begs her guild for help.
Sylphie, who finally finished her boisterous amusement at Leviene’s expense, came to look over her cousin’s shoulder. Upon seeing all the bells and whistle a priest can use and the needy greedy look in on Leviene’s face, she whacked the perverted Perrian Let upside the head.
It’s a cousin’s duty to prevent silly relatives from sinking into depravity. Besides, the obscene expression on Leviene’s face was horrifying to the Tajin Nost. It’s worse than crazy teenagers girls at a boy band concert.
“Get the healing spells before you go for the other stuff.” Sylphie said, “You only have 10 points.”
“Did you go for the healing spells on your druid yet?” Leviene snapped back at her cousin while thinking, “She pointed out the spiritual tree, she dangle the beef jerky in front of me, now she’s leading me to the puke me green pea soup. If I’m not getting what I want, she’s not getting it either. I know it’s childish of me but, but, I want Intellectual Pursuit: Increase spell power by 1% of intellect per point, Holy Intelligence: Increase holy spell power by 2% of intellect per point added, sleep, lethargy and shield spells damn it. I want to silence her when she laugh, or make her so confused she’d attack the NPC guard and get her butt thrown in jail, if there is one. I want.”
“Yes I did.” Oh the experience player believed her, but the short Perrian Let also knew that’s not all she got. Leviene was willing to bet her monthly salary Sylphie got the minimum healing spells, then stash some in utility.
“What else did you get?” Leviene pressed. If she was willing to gamble, then she better see the results.
“I got Ayerez to be a Stancer.” Sylphie evaded Leviene’s questions so skillfully the experienced player envied her. Even knowing it was an evasion, Leviene allowed her to change the topic of the conversation.
“What’s a Stancer?”
“Stancer similar to an Auralist in that they use auras to augments their attacks. Both has aura which acts like a buff or debuff. The main difference between a Stancer and an Auralist is that Auralist uses magical attacks while stancers used physical attacks. Oh and Auralist are plate wearing leech healers/mana regenerators while Stancers are chainmail wears with better debuffing skills.”
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
“Shoulda gone for the Auralist then,” The experienced player sniped. Leviene was still unhappy (read pissed off) about the mental illness joke and dangle beef jerky needy wanty deny thingy Sylphie set her up for. Ummmm beef jerky. She could go for some right now.
“Auralist sees the aura while Stancers affect their aura through stances. I don’t want to mess up my vision.” Syphie replied. “Okay enough about me, go get the healing spells, Homer Simpson.”
“Then go away. Better yet, go help Erica. I can’t do things with you hovering over my back.” Leviene pushed Sylphie towards Erica sitting in the corner, staring intently at her skill tree with an indecisive expression. How much teasing can a person take? For Leviene, a great deal considering how easily she forgives her friends and family because she understood they were only trying to cheer her up as well as her mental blinders blotting out most of the experiences so she forgets most of it. Also, she get tease so much she got used to it. It doesn’t make it any less annoying.
“Okay.” Sylphie headed towards Erica.
Priest Holy - Healing Tree has Triage and Recovery on the first tier. Triage heal for 75 hp with a 3 seconds cast time costing 25 mana. Recovery is a HOT or healing over times spells. It is an instant cast spell, shorten instacast spell, that heals for 100 hp over 10 seconds and ticks every 2 seconds with a 10 mana cost. The second tier has Recuperation which heals for 300 hp, 7 second cast time 75 mana, but in order for a player to access the second tier, they need to spend 10 points into the subtree.
For example, in order for Leviene to get Recuperation, she needs to put 10 points into the Holy - Healing tree. Points into the Holy - Incursion or Holy - Amplification does not count.
Here goes.
Triage: Heals the target for 75 hp
Cast time: 3 seconds
Range: 20 meters
Cost: 25 mana
Please visit the priest trainer to purchase the next rank of the spell
Recovery: Heals the target for 200 hp over 10 seconds
Cast time: Instant
Range: 20 meters
Cost: 10 mana
Please visit the priest trainer to purchase the next rank of the spell
Interesting. Some spells can scales through tomes purchased from the trainers, while other must be scaled through talent points. It’s good for healers the administrators put in a buy it rank systems. Healers, more than most classes, need different ranks of their healing spells. When Leviene play a healing class, she tends to stack spell power or a healing modifier to increase the amount of healing done per second or hps, then put different ranks of healing spell on her bar and heal depending on the situation. The experienced player can conserve mana, prevent over healing and reduce down time.
Don’t think these little trick are unnecessary for healers. Those raid leaders have a mod checking for damage done, dps, threat, healing done, healing per second and all the other stuff. They spam the results in chat sometimes. Leviene can’t slack off.
She blamed the damage dealers. It was all their fault. It started when they were fighting against Fury of the Ages Duranix, a black dragon the destroyed the Antelia Kingdom in the Eastern Lands.
Duranix was not a particularly hard fight. In fact he’s pretty easy. Duranix is a regular tank and spank fight with one gimmick, every three minutes he drops aggro.
Aggro is the threat a mob feels towards certain players. The mobs will attack the player highest on their threat list. Tanks abilities have built in threat generators or they have what players term a snap aggro ability, a skill that puts the player on top of the mobs threat list. Damage dealers have abilities to cause lower threat per damage dealt to the mobs or an abilities to wipe their threat completely. Healers….pray/run/scream at the tanks to grab the mobs.
A tank and spank fight is the easiest types of fight out there. The tank grabs the mob’s attention, dps deals damage and healer heal then viola free loot.
Duranix is an easy fight if the damage dealers know when to stop their damage and wait for the tanks to grab the aggro. It was not pretty. Dead bodies litter the ground so much players can’t recognize their corpse from the first death to the ten death.
In short, the dps was ordered to install a threat meter. If they go above the tank at any time, Sylphie will emo rage on them until they wish they were dead.
The threat meters installed not only records threat, it also records damage done, damage per second, healing done, healing per second and all other stuff Leviene never looked into due to lack of interest.
Whelp, suffice to say, Leviene’s day of slacking off was over.
Looking at the tree, Leviene need to at least get to tier 4 of the Holy tree to get Revive, a skill which brings dead players back to life. It’s a must have for all healers.
Should she put all 10 points into the holy tree and expect her cousins to deal damage for her or should she shift some points into the dark tree for damage?
Sylphie went more utility or damage than healing, but as a hybrid class, Sylphie’s damage isn’t high enough to justify Leviene dedicated healing her. Leviene heal while Sylphie’s alt, Ayerez does the damage and Sylphie could heal while Leviene’s alt, Altreyes, does damage. Erica is pure damage. In any situation, she’s completely useless. She doesn’t know how to dps.
Put points into the dark tree it is. The experienced player studied the dark tree. There’s three subset: Shadow, Void and Abyss. Leviene is starting to see a pattern here. Shadow consist of channeling spells with some extra utilities. Void are direct damage and Abyss has area of effect spells, shorten aoes spells.
Dark Reach: Send a shadow out to drain 20 HP over 10 seconds
Cast time: Channel 10 seconds
Range: 20 meters
Cost: 10 mana
Void Ball: Blast the target with a concentrated force of dark attributes damaging them for 10 HP.
Cast time: 2 seconds
Range: 10 meters
Cost: 7 mana
Void Blast: Instantly strike the target with dark forces damaging them for 10 HP.
Cast time: Instant
Range: 10 meters
Cost: 25 MP
Cool Down: 20 seconds
Abyssal Gravitation: Create a vortex in the area, pulling all mobs towards it.
Cast time: Instant
Range: 10 meters
Area: 1 meter

Cool Down: 5 minutes
Black Hole: A ball extends and does an 25 HP to each mob in the area.
Cast time: 3 seconds
Range: 10 meters
Area: 1 meter

Damn it all!
