Chapter 0016
[Party - Leviene]: We’re back.
[Party - Kaleseze]: Everything okay over there?
[Party - Leviene]: Yup Yup.
[Party - Kaleseze]: Anyone find anything?
[Party - Wraith]: None on Infernos
[Party - Sylphie]: None on Aerialis.
[Party - Kaleseze]: None on Landian.
[Party - Sylphie]: So we basically got nothing.
[Party - Leviene]: What about Aquarious?
[Party - Kaleseze]: What’s Aquarious?
[Party - Leviene]: The water element. Didn’t you guys see it on the character screen.
[Party - HotSauce]: Infernos was my only option.
[Party - Wraith]: I could’ve chosen Aquarious or Infernos. Didn’t know about the other races until I got in contact with John.
Hawkain: Only had Landian or Infernos here.
[Party - Sylphie]: Even if we have someone who is an Aquarious here, I don’t think it would help since the other got nothing either. So what do we do now?
[Party - Kaleseze]: We play the game. I know a group over here has started to grind. If we don’t head out soon, the other players will get ahead of us. Then they’ll come back to PK us.
[Party - HotSauce]: Or worst. Nothing stopping them from trying to rape or enslave us. They can’t do it in the city, but we’re targets when we get outside.
Hawkain: You read too much conspiracy theory Cary.
HotSauce real name is Cary Ansling, Leviene’s relative on her father side, though the are not related by blood. Jason Calbot was adopted because Grandpa and Grandma Calbot thought they couldn’t have children. Adoption was there only recourse at the time. In vitro fertilization wasn’t as mainstream back then as it is now.
Lo and behold, three years after the adoption, Grandma Calbot was able to conceive a baby girl, who they name Mireya Calbot, because she was the miracle baby they thought they could never have.
Many family members said Aunt Mireya is a warm, funny, charm woman but she possess unusual quirks. She like being in a loud crowded atmosphere, but she was the lonely girl in a room with a thousand people. She like to talk to people and was quite a chatterbox, but she can not connect to the people around her. She like to dance and won some award when she was younger for her ballet performances, yet she was clumsy in the house. She like…she was... Aunt Mireya was very a contradictory person, yet through it all she had Alexander Ansling.
That man was a god. How Aunt Mireya landed that hottie was a question in everyone’s mind. When Leviene was younger, she wanted to push her aunt out of the picture and take her place, he was that handsome.
Light blonde hair, dreamy blue eyes, the All American Next Door boy smile coupled with a quaint charm and body most male models work hard to get made Alexander Ansling the perfect husband.
They had two children together. Victoria Ansling is the eldest daughter. She is the perfect daughter, the perfect older sister, the perfect woman. Victoria is blonde, beautiful, vivacious and outgoing. She could have been the pretentious queen bee at school, the popular mean girls portrayed in movies, the head cheerleader everyone hate, but she isn’t. She is nice. Not the two faced nice girl that stabs you in the back when you aren’t looking nice, but a genuinely nice girl.
Leviene once describe Victoria as, “So sugary sweet, you want to puke.”
Now comes Cary, a lone survivor among triplets. The other two were stillborn while Cary came out a healthy 8 pound 3 ounce baby. She takes after Mireya with black hair and black eyes.
Many called Cary the jinx baby or the selfish baby because she took all the nutrient from her siblings. Her parents never blamed her by word or deed, however, it was clear to everyone Mireya has misgiving about her youngest daughter.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Maybe she was depressed losing her other two child, maybe because she had a perfect daughter that Cary can’t compare, maybe Mireya was crazy, who knows what goes on in that contradictory mind, but was obvious to a blind person she did not favor Cary.
Cary grew up lonely despite the effort of Alexander and Victoria. In spite of their attempt to get closer to the girl, the bond among was not as strong as they hoped. Frustrated over her youngest daughter’s distant demeanor, Mireya sent Cary to the Calbots for the summer.
Family members became puzzled over the four’s friendship. Reasons say when you put four maladjusted teenagers in a room, they’d try to avoid each other as much as possible. One person would be at one corner of the room, doing their own thing while keeping an eye on the other three.
Well, it’s puzzling enough how the Calbots siblings got along given their unusual personality. Matthew is the responsible brother, somewhat friendly but keeps people at arm's length. His proud, aloof aura makes people shy away from him. Laurie is the nice girl but she quite blunt and tactless. Unless they were related and had to cope with her, most make up excuses to leave after three sentences. John is the quiet one. He is the true loner among the siblings. The Calbots siblings give off a ‘weird vibe’ deterring many people from befriending them. Cary have similar aura the Calbots siblings emits.
So, how did these four loners get along was a mystery.
They just did.
As to why Cary had a preoccupation with rape, it was because of her sister. A woman as kind as Mother Teresa, as gentle as a spring breeze and as beautiful as Cindy Crawford. The family was generous in their description of Victoria. Laurie call Victoria the the natural airhead. Who else but a stereotypical dumb blonde fall for those pathetic excuses?
Beauty on par with famous models attracts attention like a magnet attracts metal. Most of those attention are unsavory.
Victoria was lured into stranger home underneath the guise of ‘studying’ only to be attacked by a boy or in another case, a group of men lying in wait for her.
Among their circle of family, Cary is not the smartest person. The award goes to Jessica. Surprisingly for a loner who sucks at even the most basic human interaction, Cary is very good at reading people and if they have any ulterior motives, very good at finding it.
She knew those people approaching Victoria were bad. Cary called up Jessica, who ordered the private bodyguard station near the Calbot’s home to monitor Victoria’s movement and rescue her if the need arise.
The first time when Cary tried to rescue Victoria by herself, she end up in the hospital with a minor concussion, a broken arm and major headache caused by the lecture given to her by Matthew.
Laurie and John standing at the bedside nodding their head in agreement with Matthew’s point allowed no room for the sick patient to argue. Those damn bobble heads!
Afterwards, Cary left the rescuing to the professional, bodyguards hired by Jessica. They were originally used to spy on the Calbots family but since the siblings routine is wake up, go to school, come home, play game, eat, sleep, the bodyguards have been diverted to other useful endeavors.
Rinse repeat several times and bam, Cary jumps to a rape motive when someone act suspicious, although it is more like the pot calling the kettle black. Cary is a weird loner, but she can put up a facade like the best actress in Hollywood, that of a flirtatious slut.
How the two different personality converge and become the person known as Cary Ainsling is a mystery in itself. The Calbot siblings never inquired on Cary erratic behavior. They were family. A person can’t chose their family, though Leviene wish she could. Oh how she wished she could.
[Party - Sylphie]: No, she’s right. We don’t know what’s going on. Who know if we can be enslave or tortured. I say we travel in groups. It’s safer. Everyone has a partner right?
[Party - Wraith]: Mark and Cary is with me, you have Leviene. John the only loner here.
[Party - Sylphie]: He can take care of himself.
[Party - Leviene]: We should level up then head to the a neutral city and group up. Everyone keep each update on their progress.
[Party - Kaleseze]: We should look over the class description before we make a choice.
[Party - Sylphie]: Yes we should. The System, as Leviene name them, allows us to leave the city after three days.
[Party - Kaleseze]: Good. Everyone use the time well.
[Party - Leviene]: Wait! Did anyone find anything about alts or multiple characters?
Mark Deveraux was not close to the Calbots siblings, but he know about them through the family’s gossip grapevines and the regular reports submitted to Jessica by her private investigator. Most of the family members thought the reason the Calbots got along was because they were tied by blood.
Mark thought differently. Each members exposes their strength while covering for the weakness of the other. Laurie rushes into things while forgetting the minor details. She can be reckless because John watches her back.
John is known for his patience because he had to be patient or else he’d been driven insane by his older sister. It’s a defense mechanism John built against the carefree being known as Laurie.
He shows his patiences now when he explains the basic to his sister.
[Party - Kaleseze]: Read the introduction on classes then ask your questions.
[Party - Leviene]: Where is it again?
[Party - Kaleseze]: Main Menu, Introduction, Classes.
[Party - Leviene]: Thanks bro.
Hawkain wondered if it is better to strike out on his own. Between Leviene’s reckless, Sylphie’s scheming, Kaleseze careful observation, TresBelleSoliel’s nagging and HotSauce’s distrust and Wraith… whatever Wraith is, can he work with them without dying?
Why does he feel like an oddball among a group of oddballs? Worst yet, why does he feel like he’s cannon fodder?
