One could see an unsurprising scene playing out on the fields. Our hero, tired from his hard working ways, laying about, our dear ghost cultivator sitting cross legged on a stone, trying to forget his miserable existence, a bound cat girl hanging out on a tree while crying to herself, and the newcomer demon laughing at her.
"Can someone please shut her up already. I can't concentrate on my cultivation."
*Loud crying noises*
Said the ghost, knowing the process of cultivation as a ghost is a magnitude more harder, even for talented geniuses unfortunate enough to find themselves in a ghostly body, not even mentioning his atrociously bad talent at it.
"...I really should have just let myself get reborn as the heaves would have wanted to. I wonder if this is my karma from the way I lead my life..."
"Than you must have had really great karma, like triple super duper mega karma or something."
"That is not how karma works. And if it does, I am officially converting to the guys who worship dirt."
*Even louder crying noises*
"Well, whatever… for gods sake Timmy, please shut her up already. Some people just can’t control their emotions, jeez."
"Yes, lord."
"Considering she is now hanging there for two days and no one else is coming anymore, you can't really blame her for crying all that much, can you?"
"But there has to be an end already! Always with the "My family has abandoned me" and "I thought I was his favorite" and bla bla bla. I mean, I get it, you family sucks. Welcome to the club, it’s called literally everyone. You know my parents grounded me once for MONTHS, just because I sold fake weed to some random kids? How was I supposed to know the plants grandpa had in his garden where tobacco plants...at least I had finally found out why they kept on buying my fake weed."
"...So you don’t feel sorry for her at all?"
"Of course I do, I mean how can anyone live with themselves without hearing the beautiful sound of my voice...at least you are all able to see my handsomeness."
"Did you ever actually see your own face?"
"Of course, just last time I was in my bathroom before the whole reincarnation stuff."
"Okay, let me rephrase my question, so that you can understand it: Did you ever see the face of your sloth self, you know, the guy who is, in fact, not a human? The person, no, not a person, but a hairy black ball of hate that sadly exists on this world?"
…
"You know, that girl has a backpack with her, considering she is apparently of some kind of noble blood, you can be sure she has a mirror in there. Why not get it out and...appreciate the sight."
"...I don't have to."
"What?"
"I am not some kind of narcissist, I already know that I am handsome beyond belief so why would I need to look at my Adonis-like face? Yes, to be fair, considering it’s my face, even I sometimes have a hard time not looking at it. It’s the cross I must bear."
"...I think this question doesn’t really need to be answered, but you didn’t have many friends in you last life, did you?"
"Friends? Friends are for losers, all the most rich, genius and famous people are loners."
"Oh, so where you rich and-or famous? I don’t think we need to ask about the genius part."

"…I-"
"What are you talking about you worm? Of course he was! How many useless people would get thrown into such a vicious world and instead of dying, rise to such a high level in such a short time? If he where just some average good for nothing, that would mean he just got where he is by pure luck alone, and that’s just practically impossible considering the amount of luck involved."
"...What Timmy said."
"But- "You know, I haven’t eaten in ages, let’s go find some food for me."
"As you command."
And so they began their journey once again, hoping to find the most scarcest resource on this planet...food.
…
…
…
"Lord?"
"What is it Jimmy-
"Timmy, my lord."
"What? No my name isn’t Timmy, Jimmy. Now ask your question already you jokester."
"...Yes my lord. I think we might have forgotten something."
"That can't be, you have to know, I have never in my lifetime forgotten something."
"Like, this lifetime or your old one?"
"...No you see that one doesn't count-"
"My lord, we may have forgotten the cat girl."
"...Oh….shi-no….WE didn't forget it, YOU did, it’s your job as the intern to make up your superiors faults, isn't that obvious? I'll have you know a lot of people want your job. "
"Literally. None."
"I-I am deeply sorry my lord, please forgive this lowly one. I must be some kind of complete utter idiot to forget something like that. The most worthless moron wouldn't have forgotten her-"
"I get it, you can stop now."
"Truly only a useless incompetent maggot would-"
"PLEASE stop already, I have decided to give you another choice."
"Y-yes my lord."
"So, we have forgotten her there huh...how long ago was it since you last fed her Jimmy?"
"...about two days ago my lord."
"Well, that's nothing, I had hamsters that survived longer than that. They did eat their children, but really, these little shits probably weren't all that nutritious anyway."
And so they continued to walk along.
"...Shouldn’t we go back to get her now?"
"...Nah, what could possibly happen? Either she dies, in which case, meh, or she gets freed by some random. And I think at that point anyone would be more concerned with the whole “my family left me to die” thing than about some random monsters."
"Fair point. Any fate is better than ending up with you."
…
...
...
On a field one could see an unknown, aged helm-less knight on a horse, looking in the direction of a tree with relief in his eyes. Of course, he wasn't relieved because he really liked trees, he was relieved because he saw his daughter, once again asleep and hanging out without him knowing like the rebellious rascal she is.
"Honey, wake up you foolish girl, what are you doing?"
"Huh-uh what, who, I didn’t to it?"
"What did you not do, dear? Did you not go out with your friends again without telling your parents, once again needing to be rescued by your dear old father?"
He said in a teasing tone while shaking his finger at her with a smile on his face.
"...Da-Daddy? Daddy! You didn't abandoned me!"
"Of course I didn't what are you talking about? Now tell me what happened, and where is your weird little friend?"
And then she began to cry, once again.
"….You always liked to cry. Just like your mother always did. Now let us get you down there alright? And for gods sake, who made these horrible trap holes? Not even a horned rabbit would fall for them. Ha, fall, get it?"
"Daddy, no…"
…
After freeing her and her telling him about her little adventure, they both sat on a pair of rocks, while she was still crying.
"Well, don't worry, sweetheart. The reason you had to wait so long was that I finally had a breakthrough in my class. Daddy is now a grand knight! Now your daddy is confident in fighting every monster in the ranks C, even if they are about to evolve into the famous B rank."
*Sniff*
"What if that scary monster is already in B rank?"
"Oh, my stupid little thing, if it where B rank you wouldn't be alive right now. You would be very, very dead."
He said, apparently trying to comfort his daughter. He was failing.
"Oh…I-I Waaahh-
And, just as her tears where lessening, she started to cry louder again.
"...I always was bad at the whole consolation part...how about after I kill these monster we make a nice little grave for your friend? You where very close after all, almost like siblings. You always wanted a brother didn't you, shame he was rammed from behind by some monster. Ha, context...at least I hope."
He said, hopefully realizing that he shouldn't ever try to console anyone ever again.
