Nothinghill lost their will after suffering the defeat. Many blamed their own mistakes. Only common and Tetrao soldiers didn´t know anything what has happened. Enemy has gotten their hands on to gunpowder. History of war will change because of this. They can only keep it as secret and hope that Saisagus doesn´t find purpose for it.

Ballistas, battering rams and trebuchets were the most used on a large scale war heavy weight weapons but theip negative points over weighted their positive points. They could be only used when all standards were in places. For examble this war didn´t posess all of them. Which it why it takes time to take down Nothinghill.

Producing a new weapon among them will for sure take out balance. For this reason Nothinghill has took heavy importance that this invention won´t come out before it could be controlled. So far the only weaknesses would be water and long time to make it. But these both problems are showing change that they could be over come.

“I think the only thing that we can do right away is to set fire to the tunnels. We have to hope smoke will slow down enough so allies can come to help us.”

After long talk inside the walls conclusion was made but this was mainly to make soldiers to do something while they are in despair. Their minds have to be set to do something else entirely.

Every soldier was ordered either to rest or do some meaningless chores. People from Tetrao weren´t an exception. They had grown to each other so much that all of them agreed to stay with Albert for now if they manage to survive this. They were currently working on waste disposal. It might seem like they got the hardest part of all works but that wasn´t the case. Some people have to go down and work with the death bodies. Even if they somehow manage to survive this then deceases will kill us for sure.

Only thing which surprised all was the fact that enemy attacked in that morning. Not because of the timing or anything like it. They simply announced their attack. Their purpose was to make people think that they could surrender and survive this ordeal. This wasn´t wrong by itself but this meant that these troupes could arrive to strike back to their loved onces. The most here has family and friend all over the country.

Normally people wouldn´t travel outside their home village but Gauraus is different in this matter. This village is a new one without a history or cultural influences. The most people here are only at best at their second generation and their parents are all reconmented here by others. Their family has for sure escaped but they might be the once how get their enemies strikes the first.

“Enemy is attacking! Ready the arrows! Hurry!” Defence line was once more build up suddenly without any loss of time. It is clear these soldiers are rised and trained for war. There is big difference between both. For this reason south wall was filled with veteran soldiers how are know for both their talent and training. Two of those soldiers might even take on the lord of Nothinghill.

Enemy was back to their basic movement attacking and retreating but there was one way bigger difference this time. They are using shieldmen to build plank bridges over moats and not only in south wall. They are actually fighting in all walls and it isn´t no way small kind of battle. They are going to take these walls today.

They might have heard bad or good news from their main force. They might also try to take us down by their risen spirit. They might also be ordered to take us down by their superiors. No matter which is the reason it doesn´t change what we should do. Since we have no access to our country´s superior it give us free hands to move on. We could give them our walls.

This statement doesn´t mean that we would surrender. It is normal to have multible walls behind the first wall. Enemy can be trapped between both of walls. This allowed cross attacking or concentrated attack. Only problem there isn´t no such second walls in Nothinghill. Enemy knew this too but if enemy starts to retreat from the walls then even they would start to doubt their information.

Reason behing why there was no walls inside their walls was space. There wasn´t any room to make any new walls after building it. By many ways there was many problems with building this fortress here but good thing out weighted them all. For this reason Nothinghill had all the time in the world thought about solution to all problems. One for this case is underground bunkers. They were used as experimentation ground but after much suffering and harm they witnessed they became ideal defence fortress.

Largest problem with this place was water problems. Corrosion had taken effect in there and people could easily drown by flooding the place. Good thing enemy doesn´t have resurses to work with to deal with this.

In the truth this wasn´t marquis´ plan. He was suspicious how much they know about them. He was making test how enemy will act after he shows signs of retreat. If enemy commander knows about these preperations then he will surely not bring cavalry out. In all other cases enemy will for sure bring out cavalty and shows their strenght.

In the end there was no reason to prepare such plans. Nothinghill could see large dust cloud. It is either ally enforcements or enemy retreating force. It didn´t matter which of those it is to the Nothinghill. Both of them would bring huge positive news to everyone there.

In Saisagus side this wasn´t noticed as quickly but when noticing Polgon´s army´s happy shouts they could avoid looking at their backs. South of them was hill which was even close as big as Nothinghill but before the war George made his scarecrow trap in there. It was also place where Nothinghill has always looked to the Gauraus village if anything was happening there.

Of course now that place is empty from ally soldiers. Saisagus has made it their headquarters. Currently it supposed to hold only look-out men how would call about all strange happening which isn´t happening in their commander´s sight. They have been strangely quiet for all morning while battle was going on.

Normally they would have called out all kinds of unnecessary. Such as groups escaping the village and such. They had even called about strange bridge which goes to the Saisagus. No one is going to believe such things. Just week ago I was next to cliff to see if anything which could harm the operation would be there. Back at that time there wasn´t anything like that at all. How could there be bridge now? No bridge could be build by less than week. It would take at least half a year in such place.

For this reason hill´s look-out men loyalty has been questioned various times. This time around there wasn´t a single soldier around to see. Did they desert us? Why now?

This thought came to pass quickly. There was large dust cloud approaching quickly. As dust lowered to our men´s level then our base revealed its true colors. Enemy forces have secretly taken control of the hill without us knowing about it. Army must have arrived here first to take over our retreat path.

If main army comes to know about this then chaos would rise to men. We would have to surrender and escape back to our home. one of the most basics of war is keep retreat path open and out of danger. This was especially true with border war. That war ended as our loss just because retreat path was taken control over. Same kind of thing can happen to us. No men wants to walk along uncertain path. Kirmishes, wolves, rapids and enemy attacks would become the least of our worries. Army deserters would become mayor problem which is difficult to control.

At least they aren´t going to attack without discrimination. They are willing to hear our terms. It doesn´t matter how bad terms are. Just by we can communicate makes thing way easier by many ways. Insane and brute enemies are the most difficult to handle. Some might disagree but this is true. Enemies like that can´t be dealt with reason. Even if by all logic enemy should retreat, they still keep oon going to the last men. These kinds of battle doesn´t give anything bact to neighter party.

Saisagus´ Edmond commander didn´t need to think over much what he should do. He ordered his army disengage combat. He also ordered one scout to question men in the hill. He also secretly ordered some scouts to look around how much enemy army has sent reinforcements.

Scouts arrived at first with gaining nothing. They all were noticed by enemy scouts in return. They must have started to investigate our troup too. For this reason all scouts were placed to look around to keep enemy scouts to see our forces.

Next one how returned was my negotiator. The very first thing surprised me the most. “It is Dialkas army leaded by Margaret.”

Margaret from the north. There is no way I don´t know her. Even more scare thing is what it meant. This force came from north and they are south from us. This meant they have most likely surrounded us, take over the main road to home, passed us without us noticing anything and they are willing to do this in their enemy´s lands.

This was impressive show casing of power and influence. I couldn´t do same no matter how much time came to pass. How could they arrived here this quickly? What is the reason they are here? Are these two countries allied with each other? This all came by just saying “it is dialkas army leaded by Margaret. These questions and many more rised with Edmond and many others.

This same was happening in Nothinghill´s walls. There is no way he didn´t know about Margaret. Tetrao village was owned by him, Margaret and Ben. He could easily see that the woman out there was Margaret. This made him question even more so what was happening out there. Sometimes by knowing it gives even more questions in return. This was for sure one of such moments to him. There is no telling is she an ally or enemy. Maybe this situation should be looked as buying time to us. We are up against 10000 men. It doesn´t matter how many more 10000 soldiers would come.

In the truth Albert was little hopeful that this was good thing. At least if she knows that I´m here then he would at least try to negotiate my and my men save passage to home. Problem is can I leave these men here to die.

Next thing I noticed some men were running to us with weapons in their hands. They were clearly hostile to us. Are they going to make surprise attack to us? No one but us in the tower s can see them because of tunnel fumigating.

For this reason I took crossbow with higher accuracy and shot their commander. Maybe this gives right message back to them.
