Nothinghall has made moat ever since the making of the walls. Their problem was to keep everything in same sizes. They couldn´t manage that. For that reason they hide it so enemy couldn´t predict how they would defend.

People could plan for years the best way to act but now Saisagus could not act the correct way. If they would have got enough time to think then those “mistakes” could made sense in the defence plan.

Nothinghill is only shooting into those places without much aiming. There is no reason to aim. Those arrows would hit either way. Those soldiers are all gathering to these places. So far no soldier has fallen or got injured. Although things weren´t going great at all by looks of outside eyes in truth thing were going better now than before.

“Keep on aiming shoot them all and make them retreat.” Marquis was ordering his men with full gears. Even for this moment non of the army flanks from Saisagus side had tried to attack them. For this reason commanders could see what was happening in vanguard. They all new they must make vanguard retreat before they make anymore mistakes. This wasn´t easy. All their voices were left behind Nothinghill´s voices.

Only thing they could do was sent messengers to commander before army losses their faces. Commander Edmond was well known to listen. He will call out retreat. This doesn´t mean we have lost.

Soon signs of retreat were obvious. Then we all saw after effects of our attack. There is huge towers of men death there. It was horrible sight. It was like embodiment of war hedgehog. No one could feal good from that sight. Smell is going to be horrible and no one wants to approact and clean battlefield up, obviously.

Suprisingly there wasn´t no happy victory shout or anything alike. Everyone knew this wasn´t over. One of these twogroup are going to experience this themselves and that isn´t going to be us. Both sides thought like that but it was way harder to Nothinghill. Enemy could escape without the problem but they don´t have that luxury. This collision ended as Nothinghill´s victory but this was only for small moment. Downhill is right in front of them and they can´t escape it. Night is going to be long one.

Camp fires were up and soldiers started to cook their food. This was happening in outside the fortress. In the fortress there wasn´t even tiny bit of fire. For some reason it was baned from using here. This made soldiers and people from Tetrao frustrated. For in case of high ranking people here it semmed as obvious. For this reason no one could disobeyed these orders.

“Do you have any idea why no one is using fire here?” Albert Rowan choosed to here others ideas about it. Answer were such as superstition, hiding mealtime, sleeping time, showing around there is hardly any people here or the most popular one. Hiding food resurces from both from allies and enemies. Non of these made any sense.

Starving soldiers can´t do anything properly. There is no existing reasopn to keep going like this. It was clear there was many foods here but no food which could be cooked would be given to anyone.

Even more suspicious was the fact no one was looking if everyone is following the order. Those trusted men were stationed elsewhere. The most likely those men are keeping the real secret and reason hidden, but we have no reason put our heads to their business. We have to trust them. Revolting would cause way more difficult problems. Enemy wouldn´t over look any signs of weakness.

Maybe plan is to confuse the enemy how is looking here. At least I would be scared to attack here after seeing something like this. I couldn´t take any clever ideas before I could figure out our commander´s reason. It seems like thoughts of both commanders and soldier ifrom different ranks differ hugely.

At least I should be glad about we can take a break here. I would have kept attacking with changing soldiers time to time. Maybe enemy isn´t in a hurry. That can´t be it. They must hurry up to go back to their main attack. They have no reason not to.

Meanwhile in Saisagus camp.

Message from main attack has arrived. It told them Polgon´s main army was stationed to capital defence. For this reason this main cavalry group could take their time. They don´t have to worry about surprise attacks and there is no purpose for cavalry back in capital.

“Is it wise to take such breaks? Even if we aren´t needed in main attack still this isn´t no reason to avoid attacking. Even if enemy doesn´t bring enforcements this kind of action makes no sense.”

High ranking officers were disapproving their commanders plans. They wanted to bring back the glory to Saisagus cavalry, but commanderEdmond was against this. He had clearly saw something that none of them could see. It looked like he was thinking would lossing be better option than winning.

In normal circumstances win would always be the best result but somehow Admond now was thinking how he could loss the most natural matter. None of the officers could ask his reasoning. They knew they wouldn´t get no clear answer.

In the history there has been many times when commander was trying to loss the conflict for greater reasons than victory. There has been times of great hunger when war was started for purpose to gain food and same time making soldiers die for lessening the eating mouths. Once there were people defending the enemy to get them to make peace talks which they ultimately will loss just to survive.

There have been many similar types over and over again. But all of these has been one thing a common, people in lossing side always gained more by lossing the war than winning it. No one here could see any reason why losing could give more provide than victory. Unless they were going to loss this war in the end. As for now all signs were telling their victory was about 60% change. This prosent figure might not seem like much but this is change to make Polgon kingdom disappear by that number.

There is actually about 90% change to make world see Saisagus cavalry´s strenght. How could they miss out such change? Not taking over Orseas, taking control over south or Nothinghill were their main plans. They wanted to show their military might to all. Saisagus rulers were hoping to get this revealed for purpose of their hidden plans. What ever they might be?

“Could you bring that new noble here? I would like to talk with him.” In the end Edmond called out for one of his new man. He was newly risen noble how inherited his deceased father´s lands. His purpose for coming here was to get even more land to him. This wasn´t anything strange at all.

Only thing which surprised everyone here was that noble was capable warrior so this means he is planning to win this still. This made people happy but also worried.

I can´t believe this. Commander Edmond has trusted me to take over the south wall. Some spy have found proves of powder which is highly in flammable. Commander wants be to dig in to the underground path to find left overs of such powder. I´m so happy that Edmond of all people could trust me on this.

Purpose of this mission is both to do this and keep it hidden from everyone except Edmond. There has to be reason for it. Anyway, I have no reason not to do it. Edmond looks no even more amazing than ever. How could have thought that he had plans going over winning this war. He is actually trusting me our country´s future. I might not become a part of that history but that doesn´t mean I wasn´t a part of it.

Plan is dig around fallen ground and find all barrels and such before enemy could take them back. If change present itself then we could dig into fortress. That would definitely bring chaos to enemy which they well deserve. How could they uses such trap against us?

Back in the evening when moat revealed itself many soldiers lost their lifes. Few of them were his childhood friends. They had already made plans for after war celebrations. How could they be killed so easily. Two how had died were even stronger than he is. He hasn´t won against them never before. He was sure they would have won without such trap.

That plan was shameful cowardly. These thoughts were all around in his mind. He was hungry for revenge. He couldn´t wait for give some harm to them. His men were as ready as he was. None of them were ready to let this end as failure.

Plan was made to stay hidden by nightraid. They were using the same plan as before to keep everything as natural as it can. Enemy can´t suspect anything. It would be easy to them counter that plan if they can find their attacks purpose.

Enemy has to keep attention on to the main army because of arrow. No ordinally arrow. Fire arrows. Of course we know that such a thing is impossible but here there isn´t any changes that Nothinghill´s soldiers would know this. Old forest, no water (ocean, river or leak) and such keep everyone from trying such a plan.

There was one time when plan was to set forest in fire but wind could easily bring that fire back to their country. For this reason plan was abandoned, but it doesn´t change it effectivity to enemies mind sets. How could they not use such a simple and easy to produce plan?

It came no surprise that panic arose in the walls when fire was clear tried to shoot at them.

“Hurry up and move! We have to move our barrels far away from the wall! Keep going! Don´t slow down!”

Everyone could see what was going on. Their panicing reaction was so strong that it gave no room to doubt. Soon everyone inside the walls knew that such panic made clear weakness revealed to the enemy. They just should have stayed calm but it was too late now.

It came to no surprise new noble´s group could secure their goal. All this happened in Tetrao village´s watch. They just couldn´t disobey their commanders order. Nightraid came to Saisagus´ victory and next day war ended as Polgon´s victory.
