Chapter 427: Stratofortress

Chapter 427: Stratofortress

Sally climbed into the cockpit of the Stratofortress. Ever since she was a girl, she had hung pictures of various aircraft in her bedroom. The B-52 was her favorite. She never could have imagined that she’d be piloting her dream craft.

“Are you ready, dear?” Damien asked.

Sally nodded. She was too anxious to say anything. Moments later, she held her breath as her father got the B-52 airborne.

“It seemed like a long way off to manufacture the green gas,” Sally said.

“It makes sense to manufacture such a toxin outside the city limits. People might ask questions if the gas leaked and people started dying.”

“How credible is the information?”

“Very! I trust Norris with my life.”

“Something seems off. I get that the mad doctor doesn’t want to manufacture a deadly chemical in the city, but why is he going it hundreds of miles to the north?” Sally asked.

Damien rubbed his unshaven beard.

“This job will not only set us up for years to come, but we do some real good for the victims. Get the people some justice,” Damien said.

Sally stared out the cockpit window. The bomber was so high up and she couldn’t see much detail on the ground. She couldn’t believe she was taking part in her first real Dark Angels mission. No more hiding and hacking in the dark. That life had not worked so well. She got caught and spent the better part of her eighteenth year in prison.

If I can stop that crazy bastard for deploying anymore neurotoxin. I don’t want anyone else to get hurt.

“I hope so, but won’t they see us coming?” Sally asked.

“They will more than likely hear us before this beast is visible. We will fire our missiles before they see the Stratofortress. We have the element of surprise.”
