To obtain the other half of the FayOra, Bahyun must first find out where it is.
He hacked into the database of the Special Mage Armed Force using the supercomputer at his company, but only to insert a link there, avoiding involving his boss in the illegal activity. Later, back at home, he hacked through another three layers of passcodes when using his home network, but unfortunately found nothing. He suspected there were two more passcodes and a hidden firewall to breach if he wanted to access confidential information. He narrowly avoided being traced by their system, unplugging his internet connection just in time to stop the tracing process. It was a surprisingly how much effort that the authorities put into safeguarding this department compared to how easily he could access citizens’ data.
It seemed like they hidden the stone so deep that only a selected few could reach it. So, if he could find someone with authorization, he could learn where the stone was kept, right? Immediately, he thought about the Mages. Would he be able to convince a Mage to surrender their authorization?
If he targeted a Mage with a team like the Precaria Gem Squad, the other members would undoubtedly come to the rescue, and he wouldn’t stand a chance in a 1 vs 5 battle. But what if he targeted a weaker duo? He would have a higher success rate, and he could hypnotize the Mage to bring him the stone...In that way, the Mage would take all the blame, and he could remain hidden and escape...
No, this was his responsibility to bear, no one else should take the blame from the authorities. So his plan now was to target a weaker Mage, capture and hypnotize them to reveal the stone’s location, and then steal it for Almandine.
After ensuring there were no tracking system chasing after him, he began searching the activity records of all fifty-two Mages in this world.
No all Mages were as powerful as the Precaria Gem Squad; some were famous, but others were not. The Precaria Gem Squad was a prime example of a famous Mage team, with a wealth of easily accessible information. Finding a weaker, low-profile Mage among the sea of information proved to be quite difficult.

After three days of searching, Bahyun finally found a perfect target - a rarely encountered male Mage.
Among the fifty-two Mages, there were forty-eight MahoShojo (Magical girls) and only four MahoShonen (Magical boys) in total. Three of the boys formed a team, while one remained solo.
As the efficiency of FayOra stone worked best with girls, most people directly associated Mages with females. Male Mage were rare, and some generations didn’t even have one. Additionally, male Mages were considered weak since FayOra works favoured females. They rarely received the spotlight unless they achieved great success, a feat that had never been accomplished in history.
There wasn’t much information available about this teenage boy. The area under his charge was a small town near the Chro Forest, home to magical beasts. It was a quiet town, not even known as a tourist spot, with only two thousand inhabitants. It seemed natural to make assume that this boy was weak, as he could only manage such as small town, and he was rarely featured in local news.
Bahyun may have made a wrong guess, but he was desperate to find an easy target. After conducting a more detailed research, he decided to take a gamble and set up a trap specifically designed for this boy.
Strangely, Bahyun felt a sense of excitement after making this decision, to prospect of hunting down a Mage sparking a thrill within him. Perhaps it was because he, a self-taught wizard who was a nobody, was now challenging an educated magic user with law enforcement powers...Who was better? Him or the official Mage?
I never knew I was actually an adventurous person who longed for a battle. Perhaps it’s true that a man will always has a boy living within an adult body, and I thought I was mature enough with an additional life. Bahyun thought to himself while staring at the Magical boy on his screen.
“Earth Dragon”, the messenger of the earth. It was an old-fashioned name with a rather low-profile appearance, nothing like the flashy Precaria Gem Squad. The boy appeared young and non-threatening.
A trap that could attract the young boy in Mage form, capture him and hypnotize him...It would be much easier if I knew his true identity. Hypnotizing a normal person inadvertently would be simpler than hypnotizing a Mage. Bahyun pondered. Unfortunately for him, the Mage’s information was hidden in the database that he couldn’t access.
Well, I’ll have to start looking for the best place to set up the trap then! Hopefully, everything will go smoothly, and I can finally learn where the stone is hidden. Bahyun mused.
