Snowmay Frost felt the pedant of her necklace emit a vibration that only she could sense. Immediately, she knew a dark beast had emerged in the area she was in charge of, and base on the intensity of the vibration, it was definitely a strong one. She opened her phone, intending to inform Headquarters to send her the exact location. Though she could vaguely detect the invasion spot, and the sense would grew stronger as she got closer, it would be much faster if Headquarters could send her the location through their satellite monitor.
Just as she was about to press the number, her phone rang, and the incoming call was from Headquarters.
“Sixteen dark beasts attacking the River Bank Plaza in Triblossom City. Please get to the scene immediately!”
“Roger, Triblossom city River Bank Plaza. Morganite is on the way.” Snowmay heard her team member reply simultaneously with similar words. She realized that this was a simultaneous notice, which rarely occurred these few years as invasion incidents had dropped yearly. It had been a while since all five members were required at the scene; usually, two to three members were enough to ensure everything was under control.
“Things are going to be tough this time.” Snowmay muttered softly as she finally reached an alley with nobody around. Without pausing for a second, she activated a spell that sparked under her tongue, “O FayOra, who shines in the dark, please lend your power to your admirer and fulfill her desires!”
As the final word hung in the air, the pendant of her necklace glowed in bright pink color, so intense that no one could look at her directly with naked eyes. The color soon enveloped her entire body, as she leaped onto the rooftop. When the bright pink glow finally faded, she had transformed into Morganite the Mage, clad in fluffy and cute battle gear.
The force that had assisted her in leaping onto the rooftop did not cease but continued to propel her into midair, where she summoned the force of the wind to drive her towards the scene.

She was fast. Within half a minute, the dark aura emitted by the dark beasts came into her view, and she anticipated reaching the scene in less than 10 seconds. Calculating her timing, she began gathering spells and mana, preparing to strike the moment a dark beast entered her range. She also planned to erect a force barrier to limit their movement and prevent further destruction.
However, the power she had gathered dissipated 5 seconds later when she had a clearer view of the scene.
She was shocked, “What…what’s going on?”
Now able to see the types of dark beasts, she came to a halt and stood at the edge of the battlefield. Her brain automatically analyzed the strength and weakness of these types of darks beast. She even knew the most efficient way to defeat them, as she was now a mature Mage who had handled hundreds of battle. Though she still appeared young and innocently naïve after transforming into a Mage, she was, in fact, a 25-year-old adult with a soul that sounded like a 35-year-old woman. Each and very near-death battle had been enough to force maturity upon every single Mage.
But this was the first time she had seen this kind of scene.
The FayOra stone granted her a special magic attack. When she cast the spell, pink and sharp gemstones would pierce from the ground and form a tough barrier under her control. She usually used this feat to corner her opponent and terminate it. This was a spell that only she could cast in this world.
And here she stood at the edge of the battlefield, the spell that only she would cast was being utilized by another person with similar skills and preferences, the only difference being in color. Hers was bright and warm pink, but the gem shards in the field were very dark and cold pink, a color she was somehow very familiar with.
She saw a few dark beasts struggling hard within the gemstone barrier, all tied and caged by strings of black chains. The person who had supposedly cast her spell leaped in between the dark beasts attacking them with the same moves and spells she would have used many years ago when she was still a newbie. Now, she had faster and more efficient ways to achieve the same result.
Every scene she observed reminded her of something that had happened long ago, something she still regretted and felt upset about whenever she recalled then moment. She floated in the air, watching the figure that looked exactly like her battling with full strength, thanking the heavens for everything she saw now.
She’s alive! Her chest tightened with emotions, but she was triumph with the realization, she’s alive!
