“Bro! Why are you sleeping in the living room?!”Exclaimed my little sister, Bahryn.
Sensing to immediate danger, I grabbed a pillow from beside me and covered my ears, seeking a moment of peace and silence. Nice, soft, fluffy, and comfort pillow…zzZ
“Hey!” someone pulled me off the couch. I blinked my tired, gum-filled eyes, let out a yawn, and tried to go back to sleep. However, that someone continued to hold my shoulder and shook me vigorously, forcing me to push those hands away and fully wake up.
“Why did you wake me up? I went to sleep after midnight. Can’t you just leave me alone? You’re the one who needs to go to school, not me…”I rubbed my eyes and let out another sleepy yawn.
My sister shot me a serious look. She pointed toward the doorsteps and exclaimed, “Are those extra shoes? Did you bring someone home after we went to sleep?”
“Well, I came across a girl drenched in the rain by the roadside. It seemed like she had lost her way, so I brought her back before we could figure out what to do.”
“What a disgrace! Instead of having her sleep in your stinky room, you could have woken me up and let her stay with me! I hope she’s still alive after suffocating in your room reeking of odors.”
“Hey, I swear to God that my room doesn’t smell at all! Neither do I!”
By the time I presented my defense, she was already stomping her noisy dinosaur-like footsteps through our slightly old house towards my bedroom, probably to welcome our unexpected guest. After rubbing my eyes and letting out a yawn, I squinted and made my way to the washroom to start my morning routine while scratching my back.
My sister finally emerged when I almost finished with breakfast in the dining room. She quickly explained the situation to the tall girl who had accompanied me home late at night, grabbed her breakfast, hurriedly packed her bag and rushed off to her class. She was so fast that I couldn’t even respond. But she had to run anyway if she wanted to make it to her class before the bell rang. Her chances of being on time were slim unless she managed to run even faster.
Finally, I have the opportunity to observe the girl I brought home. Today, she is wearing my sister’s clothes and seems to be in better shape.

Judging by her height and figure, I would estimate her age to be around 25. However, there’s something odd about her that gives off a peculiar aura, unlike anyone I’ve encounter before. This is the first time I’ve came across a person with such an intriguing presence.
As I mentioned before, this is a world where MahoShojos fight off dark forces. These girls are not simply defined by magic (Maho) and young girls (Shojo). There are more details I can think of. Let’s take their hair, for example. It’s a miraculous sight that their hair never looks messy during or after battles, and it never hinders them in melee combat. Not only is their hair long, thick and glossy, but it’s also adorned with various colors radiate light, glory, happiness and joy - every positive image you can imagine. Even the solitary black hair, typically associated with darkness, somehow manages to shimmer and gleam. Their appearance is so natural, unlike the artificially colored hair I recall from my previous life.
And yes, their hair actually glows, emitting a faint glows in dark environments. But it doesn’t stop there – their skin and clothes also emit a subtle glow. That’s why they appear so radiant and brilliant during the daytime. Though people may not consciously notice the faint glowing light emanating from their bodies due to the presence of natural light, it certainly adds to their overall allure.
In stark contrast to these pastel colors representing all things positive and virtuous, dark tones become the signature hues for the villains, much like I remember from the J-anime MahoShojos. Dark red, dark pink, dark yellow, dark orange - each dark shade foreshadows a menacing encounter. The monsters or villains adorned in these color become the prime targets for the magical girls, who serve as the armed forces ready to vanquish them.
These facts have become deeply ingrained in the minds of the people in this world. It’s almost like a common knowledge for them.
The girl I brought home with me has hair that faintly glows, just like MahoShojos. I confirmed that last night. However, she herself is not a MahoShojo. Her beautiful, long hair is a dark-pink color, almost black but with a hint of pink. It’s a shade that printers can’t reproduce, yet it stands out remarkably to the naked eyes. It’s on the opposite end of the spectrum, contrasting the light and brilliant pink that symbolizes the forces of justice. This color complements her sharp eyes and her facial expression, which seems to look down on everyone in front of her. It create an aura of pressure that people can feel when they meet her, making her appear unapproachable.
To be honest, no many people in this world would have hair as long as hers. Their hair would pale in comparison to that of the MahoShojos. No hair dye could make their hair as beautiful as that of the magical girls, and managing long, thick hair would make life difficult. Normal-length hair is still the mainstream in this world. However, the girl standing before me has hair that reaches her knees, which is too long for an ordinary girl to easily manage. Furthermore, her hair flows even when there’s no breeze, and despite its thickness, it doesn’t seem heavy at all. It’s as if it has been enchanted by magic.
She’s not a MahoShojo, yet she bears a striking resemblance to one…It piques my curiosity to find out exactly “what” she is.
