Haru here, her words hit my nerve as she smirked at me. Yes the boy reminded me of my naive self who was strung along by the people of that summoned world. To have my own allies killed and have fake friends travel with me all just to try to kill me. Sure I liked the other characters in the manga and the storyline. But the ones that don’t sit well with me was how Ava was sealed at the school and how many times his students almost died.

Whereas my hero adventures my allies died without me even knowing it. Because they humans showed no mercy to my nonhuman friends. The beastmen boy who was just 12 who traveled with me and the elf who was 30 years old but looked like she was 18 years old. The young witch girl of the harpy race who helped me along the journey and disappeared towards the middle of the journey. Seeing Sora’s enemies go easy on him angers me even more. All because for every moment they set a trap or kidnap his students it just goes to show how many times his students could’ve died by them.

“I’m not jealous.” (Haru)

“Oh come on, doesn’t he remind you of your past. I read your diary.” (Ava)

“Wait what? Haru has a diary.” (Nina)

“All in English about how your adventure as a hero went and how they killed off your friends at the end after you found out about it.” (Ava)

“You did not just go through it like I think you said.” (Haru)

“Well it was the only thing laying around in your lab out in the open.” (Ava)

I was angry at her but more at myself. For not putting it in a more better place.

“So you’re saying that our teacher is naive and Haru here was similar in that aspect before.” (Nina)

I walked back to the cave and closed my eyes for the night. Damn it she had to bring up one topic I dislike the most why does she even do that now. She could’ve done that in private instead of bringing it up in front of Nina and the other two. Well I can few three furry kittens curling up to me but even I’m annoyed at the moment. It doesn’t mean I’ll attack them though. Instead I silently fell into sleep from mental fatigue. Too much happened in these few days. Even if it wasn’t as bad as when I was a former hero.

As for why Jasmine paid me a visit in my dreams of the past it has been too long. Memories of the past there should stay where it was. My blond friend should stay on memories only I don’t want her haunting me over her killers. Whom I’ve never found since then, a trauma I wanted to avoid.

“Right, so as I said aura itself is another limb or part of your body that’s long unused. Most don’t even notice it being there, because they have zero memories of it. Well that being said my mother said I’m able to tap into it more so than her.” (Krow)

I nearly choked on my cocoa drink, that’s because it’s you’re foster mother. Well judging from what Iris told me.

“Well but that’s just me, my mother is just a normal human.” (Krow)

“So as you said they haven’t told her yet.” (Ava)

Ava was whispering to me when I nod since Iris is never wrong on plot or important characters. I mean she at least reminds me of the plotline when I forget minor details. Which I say to hell with it on minor details.

“Right, shall we get this lesson on with then. Try to sense the air around you. Feel the flow within the air of that invisible limb.” (Krow)

“Well makes zero sense still.” (Nina)

“At least we didn’t fail in most of our lessons.” (Ava)

“Hey I can pass, possibly if I tried.” (Nina)

“Master shall I go get some food for us.” (Ai)

“After lessons you can help us restock on some meat, I don’t exactly want to buy from the system with my points all the time. So restocking some meat isn’t the worst option there is.” (Haru)

Krow would probably get thirsty after talking for far too long anyway. And Nina probably burn herself out fast too. Though that’s just a feeling of mine.

“So sensing it is the first lesson after getting a feel. Being able to hear it won’t get you anywhere. But seeing it is special, unfortunately none of you are born with my eyesight for aura. Nor the weird second image behind you.” (Krow)

“She means seeing souls in their true form, that’s a Phoenix’s inborn sight after all.” (Iris)

I had my hands up as if to give up trying to reason with the facts. She can tell if we’re lying and see souls. So not funny. Instead it feels so wrong to keep things from her but it’s not in our right to tell her own birthright. That’s not for me but it’s annoying Ava too. We don’t want to tell Nina either because we don’t know when she’d slip up. I mean she did slip up to her roommate but this case is not my fault. Telling Krow that she’s not human isn’t what I’m supposed to be even spelling since her mother hid the fact from her. It must mean she too has her own circumstances and enemies.

“By mixing your senses with the wind is to get a flow of Aura first. Since I can’t exactly use it on your bodies. I kinda learned that the hard way with my guards.” (Krow)

“The key is sensing the aura instead of feeling the ripples and listening to it. Aura is much of our daily lives. It’s what makes nature tick or move. Rather it’s what helps us on a daily basis. All things are influenced by it just that no one sees it as much. To be exact it exists in all world. As a difference source of energy than Ki, Mana, Chi, Chakra, and Qi. Listening is but the first step. Sensing and feeling the flow is much harder. It won’t be right away. It took my mother 3 months to sense it.” (Krow)

“Meaning it depends on the individual got it.” (Haru)

“Sure, we’ll try our best.” (Ava)

“Why’d you look at me with pitying eyes Haru.” (Nina)

“It’s not my fault ok.” (Haru)

“Please remember I’m trying to teach you how to use and sense Aura.” (Krow)

“Understood.” (Ai)

“She’s recording just in case.” (Haru)

“Feel the difference in the wind, that cold wave in the middle that doesn’t feel like a breeze. Sense it and get a feel or proportion of how much Aura you can use.” (Krow)

I couldn’t help but frown when I can’t sense anything yet but a trickle of something similar to when a raindrop happens but it feels more off. The air is colder ice back on earth which shocks me.

“I see that someone paid attention.” (Krow)

Why does she look surprised but at same time doesn’t know what to say.

“It makes me jealous how you’re a genius to this compared to me. It took me 12 days to grasp it even if I can see it. So question is how much did you feel at first.” (Krow)

“A drop like a rain drop.” (Haru)

“Well that’s more than what an normal person would feel. Even if I’m a genius at this it makes me feel uncomfortable to see an monster that can grasp this so easily.” (Krow)

“Why’d you look at me like that Ava.”

“She called you a monster.” (Ava)

She’s joking at me because of my race, haha, very funny she does that now that she knows my race changed. But at least she doesn’t make it too serious since she’s been with me so long. Damn why does she look like she’s having a headache when she’s looking at me. Why is Ava smirking at me. Oh wait her personality changed a lot over the years spent with her. She’s not just genius in magic, she’s also martial arts genius and great at rune magic smithing. So not my fault I wanted her to perfect everything even when we were on the run.

“Ugh, this is hard, why do you have it so easy Haru.” (Nina)

“My race can learn all energy types easily without exploding from the load.” (Haru)

“At least you didn’t feel like a breeze but yes a wave of liquid in between is actually Aura itself.” (Krow)

“Just a question how do you see it.” (Nina)

“It wraps around in all things like a cocoon. But at the same time it doesn’t touch them completely, well except for plants. All around in the surrounding it’s like a saturated part of the air that coexist and is very thick. Just imagine it like mana but more thicker on its surrounding due to humans and many other beings forgetting how to use it.” (Krow)

To which she’d often remind us of it being not used often by other beings.
