Thirteenth day of Origin Month.
After having breakfast with Rector and Argon, Glutton returns to Ethereal Realm. Brown doesn't want to see his master anyway, while Red grumbles about how his body-mate is too lazy.
"How is it going?" Atrament asks at the first second Glutton wakes up.
"He is busy playing in the human's castle."
"Then we will have to deal with Cruris on our own?" The snake's hissing voice also carries disappointment. Fighting a Lv45 might not be too bad, but he wants to see the Mana Dragon.
"Should we tell Cruris about Lord Glutton's identity?" A nymph nervously asks.
"No, not yet. I want to grind some of his solider." Brown grins creepily.
"If you want to do that, we need to strengthen you a bit." Atrament says then turns to ask the nymph. "How is the enemy's movement?"
"They has started amassing their army north of our domain... However, there are a bit too many of them." The nymph reports.
"Why do they send so much spirits at us? We only have 6!" Another nymph complains. There is only two nymphs here as the third one is spying on the enemy.
"Cruris has around 50 spirits under his command..." The timid Selachian says.
"The more, the merrier!" Brown says, making Red sighs.
"We still have time." Atrament turns back to look at Glutton...
----------------------------------------
For the rest of the day, Atrament has his servant go around searching for any kind of spirits in their domain. They dig the ground, dive the lake, shake the tree; catching even the low level spirit that they saved for when it would reach higher level.
Spirits, in exchange for longevity, are hard to level up. After the whole day of stuffing themselves with pitiful spirits, Glutton only gain 2 Level, gaining 2 points in STR and AGI. Although that might be a lot for normal Trainer, if Origo was here, he would point out that Glutton has only used 40% of a Transcended's Stat Limit.
While they wait for their next meal, Glutton would be taught magic by Atrament. Although the snake only knows Dark-element Runes, having Glutton to cast Earth and Fire magic by Chanting wouldn't be too bad.
The day flies by, the fourteenth day of Origin Month arrives...
----------------------------------------
"Lord! The enemy has started moving toward us in a mass!" A nymph's alerted voice break the calm atmosphere of the morning.
"How many of them?"
"F..fifty..." The reporting nymph even finds her word unbelievable.
"Cruris brings everyone from his domain?" The Selachian says with fear in his tone.
"And he is in the back too..." The reporting nymph says.
Before anyone could show their shock, a loud voice echoes in the air above the domain.
["Atrament! You asked me to come! Now I have come! Would you dare to come fight me directly?"]
"This..." Atrament doesn't know what to say. He only thinks of his words earlier as an insult to the Kraken; but he never expects the Kraken would come because of that.
Their group of 6 slowly floats into the sky, looking toward the north. This is the first time Glutton see how Ethereal Realm looks like. A painting made by splashing eight different colors on a black canvas. Their domain is where purple color dominates other colors, forming a floating island in the middle of the void.
Of course Glutton doesn't know what a painting is, and they don't have the leisure to care about scenery at the moment. In front of them, fifty spirits are floating.
Fifty spirit clustered together can't make an impressive sight in a huge space like this. However, the huge Kraken does make up for it. A huge octopus-like spirit. His head alone dwarfed his own army, not to mention the uncountable amount of waving tentacles, each are as twice as long as his head. Horror struck Atrament's side as they realizes that each of the enemy solider is as big as Glutton.
"Cruris! You has been growing a lot lately, right? Why don't you just sink to death under your own weight?" Atrament is the first to say.
["Don't waste your word! No22 to No30, Support Spell! No31 to No52, Charge! Crush them entirely for me!"]
Without wasting anytime, colorful rays of light shine on the front line of Cruris's army before over twenty of them charge forward.
Seeing the scene, the Selachian immediately floats down, trying to avoid the battle but Atrament's tentacle keeps him in place. Red starts chanting; that annoys Brown as Brown just wants to maul the enemies.
"Oh? A bunch of low level charging at us?" One of the nymph snickers and floats forward, drawing purple runes in the air. Glutton expect a chant, but the nymph finishes her spell without speaking even a single word. The runes form a small circle in mid-air, but when she pushes its center forward, the entire magic circle swiftly flies forward, growing and only stops when it encompasses a large area.
The charging spirits charges into the magic circle without hesitation. However, when the first group goes pass the circle, their blue-glowing body suddenly turn purple and explode. The explosion is somehow directed at one direction, pushing the majority of the spirits to behind the circle. A few of them actually dissipates into blue particles after the explosion.
The charging spirits fall back, and without the need to turn their heads, they know very well that behind them, the higher level spirits are casting a spell to dispose of the circle.
Very quickly, three blue magic circles appear above their head, each of them are as large as the shielding purple circle. They fly in a circle around the Charge team, soon forming a fourth circle that is much bigger than the first three. In the center of the circle, the Charge team glows in a deep shade of blue. Soon, each of them is covered in a layer of Water.
They charge through the purple circle again. Explosion does happen, but it only strip off a part of their water armor.
Everything happen so fast that only now Glutton finish his chant. They miss their speed back when they were mortal.
"I am Glutton, servant of Origo the Mana Dragon..."
"I am Glutton, the Ceberus Spirit..."
Brown doesn't like using his master's name.
"I seek help from the fiery element of Fire..."
"I command the power of the Earth..."
Red and brown Elemental particles appear around their respective head.

"Be a swirling flame that burn my enemies to ash!"
"Crush them with your rocky power!"
Swirling flame and rocks are formed from the particles, waiting for the last part: the spell's name. However Glutton suddenly flinch, not because of the enemies charging pass the purple shield, but rather, the spell's name.
They only hesitate for a moment before shouting the spell's name.
""Dual Cast: Fiery Rock of Annihilation!""
This is their first time casting spell together, so they couldn't know that their spell can be merged like this. Further more, Fire and Earth would annihilate each other, so no one would have both Earth and Fire aptitude to Dual Cast something like this. The spell drains 40 MP from them (20 MP for each spell), leaving them with 7 MP left. However, its power was...
Some of the charging spirits unhesitatingly charge through the small vortex of fire. Their water armor do a good job blocking the damage. However, the moment they touch those unstable rock in the vortex, an explosion echoes across the area.
Rock being burnt doesn't turn into Lava. The Magic rock is filled with 28 MAtk worth of Earth element while the Magic Fire is also filled with 28 MAtk worth of Fire element. The moment those two energies contact, they both turn into pure Mana.
However, due to receiving orders by the same Soul, the rock and fire in the vortex tries to simply resist contacting each other, staying in their own "domain" of the vortex, forming an unstable mixture. The moment the rocks get pushed a millimeters out of their "domain", a chain reaction of element-annihilation happens. The rocks turn into pure Mana along with the Fire around it, unleashing the power calculated by Origo's equation when he created Matter. Long story short, a NUKE.
Using only 40 MP, Glutton can only summon a small vortex. But the amount of Mana unleashed was far more than 40. A single explosion in the center of the charging spirit, fire and rock that were spared from annihilation being carried by the invisible Mana, erases everything in a spherical area. Spirits, Elemental Energies, the Purple Shield... Everything. It leaves a void in the middle of the colorful painting. At the rim of the sphere, floating countless blue particles.
The entire charging team, destroyed by a simple spell. Although they were a group of Lv10 to Lv20, it's still shocking as Glutton is only Lv12. Too bad, the Ceberus gets no Exp from this...
Silence. On both sides. No one understand what they just saw. In their mind, the explosion is still echoing. They stare at it as the element energies from around start filling up the void. Finally, commotion starts breaking out.
"They... died?" The nymph, ignoring her broken shielding spell, mutters.
"What was that spell?" Atrament stares in disbelieve at Glutton.
He was the one teaching them magic, but he has never seen such power from them. The duo can barely cast 2 x MAtk spells. In his eyes, Glutton's 14 MAtk (12 SPI and 2 DEX) wouldn't bring much damages to the enemies. However, the result was far from what a 2 x MAtk spell could bring. Unless Origo was here, no one could give them the exact formula for what just happened.
On the other side, it's even more noisy.
"Who is that two-headed wolf?" "I can do this much destruction but..." "He is.. just Lv12?!" "What is this madness?"
Finally, Cruris's voice silents them.
["As expected from an Ascended Spirit. That must be a Strategic Tier spell. Too bad, you are just Lv12. Nonetheless, it proved that you are really good food."]
"Ascended Spirit? That wolf is..." "So this is why our Lord had to personally come!"
["I doubt a Lv12 could cast a Strategic Tier spell twice. No6 to No30, Charge!"]
The new charging team hesitates for a moment before moving forward. Some of them are higher than Lv30 while the rest are Lv20 plus.
Seeing this, the nymphs waste no time to layer two more shields than the last one, blocking their path. The third nymph casts a different spell, gathering the blue particles nearby. Even though they were annihilated, some exp can still be extracted from their remnant. After all, low rank spirits are formed from elemental energies like these.
On the other side, the high level spirits casts more spell to cover themselves, forming dozens of small magic circles around their body and also in the air. Some of those circles shoot water torrent at the purple shield. Those lower level spirits chant their spell in unison, shooting water balls. The water forces the shields to explode useless material and dismissing their power. Soon, some of the charging spirits get pass the shields unharmed and continue shooting at the nymphs.
Before the projectile hits the nymphs, purple tentacles suddenly shoot forward and cover them like a material shield... Well, not really material as they are all spirits. The water spirits quickly find the gap in the shield to shoot through. Some of them manage to get behind the shield. However, meeting them isn't Atrament or the nymph... but the seem-to-be Strategic Tier Magic, Fiery Rock of Annihilation.
----------------------------------------
In this world, in order to train SPI stat, there are various way. Casting complex spell would only raises DEX, but if the spell deals damage or heals, it would benefits the caster's SPI on their next level.
Glutton's previous spell dealt a tremendous amount of AoE damage. Although it didn't give them any exp, it was enough to give them 8 whole points to SPI as they level up. As to why they level up, the scattered blue particles were barely enough to bring Glutton to Lv13.
"More! I want more!" Brown said that greedily.
Although 8 SPI are a lot, with Glutton's low level, it only raises their Max MP by 7. Their current MP was also recovered a bit by the particles. With [26/54 MP] at the corner of their vision, they didn't expect the next spell to be as destructive as before... However, 8 SPI means 8 additional MAtk. Calculating back and forth, the damage of the non merged spells would be a tiny bit stronger than before: 28.6 each instead of 28 each.
----------------------------------------
The result:
Glutton faints due to the complete depletion of MP.
Atrament quickly retreats, carrying his team backward.
The charging spirits frantically try to avoid the vortex.
However, the moment the water accidentally hits the vortex, the "nuke" is triggered.
