Record 038: King

As the "parade" continues, there wasn't any huge incident. Some people tried to get close to me, some throw their belonging at me (WTF?), etc... But most of them were easily stopped by the knights. Some people with high Speed managed to touch me and I simply ignored them because it was too fast to be a bother.

"Hmm, aren't there too many roasted-mushroom stall on this main road?" I lean down and whisper to the priest. Of course I'm not that stupid to not know why, but I'm hinting the priest to gather some mushroom for me.

"I'm not your personal servant." He says without even looking at me. Did he read my mind again?

"I don't want any more incident." I say with a voice implying a lot of things.

In the end, the priest orders a knight to buy some mushrooms for me. I understand that my scales are priceless so I don't even try to pay myself, but I still tell the knight that I don't want to get them for free.

Manifold. Material Realm. Northern Kingdom's Capital. Royal Castle.

The king is in the dressing room. His beard are trimmed nicely but not too short. His blond hair with hint of gray couldn't hide the gleaming golden crown on his head. Behind him, the two ministers are waiting.

A knock on the door. But instead of waiting for permission to come in, the messenger immediately reports from outside.

"Your Majesty, His Holiness will reach the castle's gate in fifteen minutes."

"His Holiness?" The Green clothed minister asks with a hoarse voice?

"Ah right, the Origin High Priest called the Origin Dragon like that. The civilian started calling Him like that too." The messenger says.

"He is but a dragon!"

"Ingen, you don't worship the Origin Dragon, but the civilian do." The blue clothed minister, Vafer, says in gentle voice.

Ingen, the military minister of Northern Kingdom, is one of the 1% of humanity who doesn't believe in Origin religion, or any other religion. In fact, he doesn't even believe that the so called Primal Gods exist. He, a short sighted [Lv40 Human], couldn't even imagine someone whose Level is higher than 40.

"I don't worship him." The king says, making Ingen show a smug expression. "But I'm still a believer of the Origin, so don't say such words in front of me again."

"My most sincere apologize, Your Majesty." Ingen immediately bows.

"Your Majesty. Will you come out and greet His.. the Origin Dragon?" The messenger asks from outside. "Do we need to prepare any ceremony?"

"What do you think, Vafer?" The king asks.

"Because we spreaded the news that the Origin Festival this year is also his birthday, of course we need a ceremony. After Your Majesty finish dressing, we should come and greet him too."

"Then we will do it." The king simply nods. Ingen has a very unsightly expression on his face.

"Yes, Your Majesty." The messenger says and soon footsteps can be heard running away. After he is gone, Vafer steps forward.

"Your Majesty..." Vafer says in a very low voice. The king nods, knowing that Vafer want to whisper. The diplomacy minister usually has some sly idea that he doesn't want anyone else to know. Vafer comes closer and whispers. "We won't let him wait for too long, but we don't wait for him either, to show that we still have our pride. And one more thing, about the Lv60 Holy Knight..."

I'm waiting outside the so called royal castle. My platform was lifted with wind magic so the knights couldn't have it float over the bridge of the castle. I could walk across it just fine but there is no way that I would squeeze myself through that tiny gate. And of course the priest wouldn't let me fly for obvious reason.

I have nothing against waiting. I'd rather not meeting the king than having him do fanatic action in front of me. 'A normal civilian doing it' was enough for me to feel nausea, if it was the King... this story would go into History! I restrain myself from puking as I don't want to waste these delicious mushrooms.

After carefully picking some roasted mushrooms from the basket onto my palm with my clumsy claws, I throw them into the sky and catch them with my maw. I wonder if this action would give me some DEX.

Looking up to catch the mushrooms, I could see the sky. It's is clear, the sun is shining brightly. The knights are waiting in the shade, looking cornered at how I turned into a red and white dragon. I'm not bothered by the sun light at all. If you think about it, I'm fueling that Sun myself...

After waiting for who knows how long, ignoring the crowds standing behind me under the Sunlight, some silhouettes appear at the castle's gate. Well, I didn't wait for that long, but I didn't know how to keep track of time. I haven't even asked about how human measure time in this world; all I know is this month is the Origin Month.

As the king's group reach half the bridge, I could see their figures. The crowned man which I assume as the king, a man in blue clothing, a scary looking man in green armor and a group of background characters.. I mean unimportant guards that I don't care about. Two guards are carrying a wide object to block the Sun, leaving the king in shade.

The man in green who has highest Level caught my attention. He is a [Lv40 Thunder]. I don't care about his level because I'm surrounded by Lv60 all the time. What made me think about is his element aptitude, Thunder. I wonder how "Thunder" works in this world. I'd complain if the deities were not creative and enabled Electric in this world. It'd ruin the Fantasy setting.

The king's group stop right in front of me, separated by a line of Holy Knights. The wide clothing used to block the sun is moved back a bit, revealing the front group. My head is way higher than the knights, so both sides can see each other well. The problem is, what should we say to each other? The priest secretly gives me the signal to act "high and mighty", but I ignore him.

"Yo." I bluntly say while waving a hand.

"You..!" The scary man in green was about to say something but gets stopped by the man in blue. That make me wonder, why does he wear green?

The king in purple clothing has Dark element, the man in blue is Water but the man in green isn't Nature. Further more, a king with Dark element? Weird. Hmm, I assumed the one who wear crown as king; maybe my assumption was wrong.

The 'king' looks up at me, seemingly lost in words. He probably doesn't know how to talk to me, so I will start the conversation.

"Name's Origo. You don't have to say something you don't like. I know that being a king, you are used to look down on people." I casually say.

"That's not it.." The king says then frowns, staring at me. If I wasn't used to the stare of those fanatics, I'd think he is rude.

"I know you want to admire me, but can you do that later? It's getting hot here." Actually I'm more worried about my mushrooms being dried under the Sunlight.

"Your Majesty..." The man in blue says in a soft voice. Now that I notice it, only the king is looking at me. The other are slightly bowing while the man in green glared at me once then is now looking away.

"I saw you in your Temple before. However I didn't know your eyes were purple. I like this color, you see." The king explains.

The Holy Knights start making a small commotion among themselves. I've already guessed the reason, and the man in green confirms it.

"Your Majesty, it's probably your clothing's color reflect on his eyes. His eyes are obviously Yellow."

"Wait, isn't his eyes are white?" "Yeah, I see that too."

"I wonder what was it called?" I secretly give out hint. "The Artifact made of my tear, I meant."

"Ah!" The man in blue clothing suddenly looks up at me. He is probably checking my eyes.

"Blue, right?" I grin at him.

"His eyes reflect..." He suddenly looks at the king.

"Oh, I get it! You didn't know your true Element. Or are you hiding it?" I lower my head closer to them and speak in a mischievous tone without letting too many people hear it. After all, I don't want to make the crowd behind fall into chaos... yet.

"Your.. Your Holiness..." The king looks at the ground and mutter. Yes! I got his weakness!

"You probably didn't get the note. I don't like being worshiped. Call me Origo." I say without hiding my grin. Let's hope that the priest isn't reading my mind at the moment. Even if he does, he couldn't stop me now.

"Origo.. Sir... Please hide..." The king mutters with a miserable voice. Water looks at him worriedly while Thunder glares at me angrily.

"Of course I won't tell anyone.. However, I need a few things." I interlock my claws and use them to support my huge head from under my maw. I hope my business smile looks fine on a dragon face.

"What do you need, Sir?" The king humbly asks. To impose my superiority and have the best deal in this trade, I let him call me Sir.

"Let's come inside to talk." I say and lift my body from the platform, standing high on all four. Some metallic sound can be heard as my body reveal the unlocked cuff on the platform.

The knights frantically try to make me sit down, but a growl reminds them that they can't do whatever they want in front of the crowd. They helplessly looks at the high priest whose face is now red. Oh, I didn't know he has aptitude in Fire too. Sarcasm.

I flap my wings, causing a small wind and stir up a commotion from the crowd behind. I hope no one is going to die from looking at my flight. On a second thought, DIE YOU FANATICS!

After a dozen or so flap, my wings lift my huge figure into the air, then with my build-in ability to fly, I glide toward the castle, slowly gaining attitude with each flap of my wings.

Finally, I perch on the castle's outer walls, looking around, finding a spot to stay. The guards on the walls don't know how to react at first, some even point their weapons at me. But soon, they all drop their weapons and kneel down. Argggg, I hate this. If not for their high level, I'd have flicked them all down the walls.

I see a garden on my left. It has a yard that might be able to accommodate me. Looking back, the kings, his men and guards, the holy knights with the priest, and finally the crowd, all of them are looking at my hind.

"You have a nice garden. Let's talk in there. Bring my mushrooms too." I say then turn left, trotting along the walls. It's not that wide, but at least the walk-way on top of the wall could fit my four feet. Ah, it feels so good walking on my own again.

As I move toward the garden, ignoring the guards along with a single digit exp gain each time I place my claws down, I suddenly gain a level. Yay, I'm Lv7 now! Finally equal to that darn wolf! Anyway, let's check my Status for once.
