Chapter 26: Slaughter
I hope you like the chapter, just so you know, it describes a one sided Massacre :twisted:
KYLE PoV
While Neuron walked towards the bandits head he had tossed into a edge of the room, Kyle exited the building, and asked the first Bandit who he came across
“Hey, do you know where the captives from the village are?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“The leader send me, he wants a fine woman”
*Gosh, I can`t believe I had to say this*
“Ah, look over there, where those two guards are, in front of that ruin, do you see them?”
“Yeah, thanks for your help”
“No Problem” he said with a dirty grin
*I goddamn hate Bandits, oh, I will so enjoy slaughtering you!* Kyle thought, while he headed towards the building the bandit pointed to. To get a better look on the building he circled it once, but nothing caught his eye. It was just a brittle ruin that had no windows, and only one entrance, where the guards have positioned themselves. When Kyle finished his clockwise walk around the building he decided to take action because he heard Neuron beginning with his speech, and thus Kyle walked straight towards the guards.
Guard 1:”halt; no one can go inside, by order of our leader”
Kyle:”Pity”
Before the guard could even process what happened a War hammer imbedded itself in his thorax, which broke his ribs like twigs, and left him on the ground while spiting blood
Guard 2: “Alarm, Alarm, we have an intruder!” he shouted, while he charged towards Kyle at full speed his daggers held in the ready, but Kyle only moved his left food forwards, and when the bandit was at the right distance he performed a shield bash, which cleanly hit the Bandit on the head, Kyle expected to hear some metallic sound, but what he heard where Bandits shouting and running around while cursing and packing their things in a hurry. But there was a sound that didn`t mix well with the other, it was a squashing sound, like someone hit a melon, which popped open.
And then Kyle saw, while he lowered his shield, a figure that flew through the air while disintegrating. Then Kyle lowered his eyes to look at the guard he hit first. Apparently he was still spitting blood and gasping for air. But Kyle just stepped over him and headed towards the door, which was locked.
“You in there, please step away from the door!” he shouted through the door, because he had a hunch that the bandit that flew away had the keys. But unfazed he stepped again over the still living bandit, and brought a few meters between himself and the door.
Then when he thought that enough time for the captives to follow his order had passed. He then activated push and charged towards the door, while doing so he stepped on the bandit and he finally died

But he ignored the message and slammed into the door, which broke out of its angles and crashed on the floor, but inside there, was only an empty room.
*What the hell* he thought, till he saw a hatch on the ground *guess they are in there* he thought while he readied his hammer to smash the lock open. After two of his swings the lock broke and he could open the hatch. Then he shouted down the stairs that appeared before him:”Hello, don´t worry, I am here to free you!, so come out!”
After he shouted this, a few minutes passed till the first head appeared over the ground level and then steadily the others appeared and distributed themselves around the room, but far from Kyle, who stood near the entrance and watched it happen.
*Poor souls, they are frightened* But the reason they were frightened was mainly Kyle’s fault, because to them he looked hideous. On his legs where blood splashes he acquired, when he overrun one of the bandits, but then a fire began burning inside the Bandits Hideout.
*Who was the idiot, that set the whole place on fire?* and after pausing for a moment he added *I hope it wasn`t Neuron*
But because of the new light source the captives could now see Kyle better, and they could identify the pattern they once thought to be an emblem, or a crest.
It truly was, the bandits head, of course it wasn`t clear that it was a head, but the grey pieces that where still stuck on the shield, and the round form, that looked like someone threw a water balloon with red ink spoke their own language, and so the captives covered even more, Kyle who noticed it, said:”All of you, try to run into the crop fields, there you will be secure, all Bandits are trying to escape.” after saying that he rushed out of the room.
At this moment he could hear boulders crushing down, screams of terror and someone laughing like crazy, when he looked towards the origins of the sound he saw Neuron standing on the wall that closed the 20m broad cliff that leads towards the hideout.
*God has he finally become crazy?* he thought while shivering then he received a whisper
+“Hey Kyle, have you found the captives?”+
+“Yeah, I found them inside a cellar and freed them; they are now heading towards the fields to seek shelter.”+ *I sure hope so*
+“Good, you ready to kill some more bandits?”+
+“Of course!”+ He said while a demonic smile appeared on his face
*This is payback time!*
After the conversation was over Kyle charge towards the gate, while killing some Bandits on his way, till he noticed, that it was jammed, because many Bandits that were in a state of panic tried to go through it at the same time. After seeing that he thought to himself
*now is the right time to try something out* while he positioned himself behind the bandits that didn`t notice him, because all had their eyes pointing forwards.
After positioning himself he put his hammer away, concentrated and began to coat his leg and arm muscles with Mana, after he was finished his Mana drained at an astronomical pace, but he continued and activated push, while he placed the shield before him, sustaining it with his right arm. Then he charged towards the bandits at a speed that even shocked himself, the first he hit with his shield just flew around uncontrollable, but then he slowed down.
*Shit, this can`t be!*
While shouting “FOR THE GIRL!” he summoned all of his strength into his legs and accelerated once again. Then he was finally free, no bandits around him, and he was through the door.

+”On the top of the boulders, hindering them to escape”+
+”On my way, ah, Neuron, just injure them, so they will become a hindrance to the others, and so you can focus on more at the same time!”+

And unbeknownst to each other a grin appeared on their face that would even scare a demon. After their talk Kyle slowly began to move towards Neuron, slowly, because he had to liberate his way from all bandits, for that he used shield bash quite often till
* Shield bash has now leveled up to beginner Lv8
The hitting force has increased
After getting this message Kyle performed the shield bash once again to see what has changed, this time three bandits flew away simultaneously instead of the usual one, or occasional two, and Kyle had a little bit more room to move, and so he bent his knees, twirled around to give his war hammer more hitting force, when he brought it at knee level and swept through three legs.
The bandits that were their owners just landed flat on the ground with their faces first, and then all held their feet that where of course broken, some even had bone fragments sticking out of their skin, but Kyle and the others didn`t care, Kyle because he was busy killing bandits, and the bandits because they were busy escaping, and thus trampling them down.
+”Kyle, attention, I am going to use shower, ready your shield!”+
Immediately after Neuron send the message Kyle covered under his shield and just to be positive that his shield wouldn`t lose too much Durability he activated mana coating.
Then the arrows came raining down, when they hit his shield, it felt like a downpour of rain In a summer tempest, and it even sounded like one, but the bandits that were screaming all around him, clutching their hands on those arrows that pierced them, while falling down and dying, or to be overrun by those that came behind them, making the ground slippery with the spilled blood, which caused some more to lose footing and be again trampled to death, while screaming, to sum it up, it was pure mayhem.
While he tried to move towards Neurons position, the sound of screams around him suddenly changed, before it were only screams of terror, but now he could clearly hear screams of pain.
*Neuron must do his work too*
Then it finally happened, Kyle was out of Mana, even though all those he hurt and left dying activated his sadism and provided him with a Mana recovery boost, to boot he was encased by bandits that noticed, that he should be their first priority, and thus hitting him as hard as they could with all attacks they had to their disposal.
+”Neuron, some help would be appreciated!”+
+”Where are you?”+
+”There were a bandit will soon fly into the air!”+ He said, while swinging his Hammer around once and then Kyle smashed it right on the chin of the bandit that stood before him, lifting the bandit up into the air while blood and cracked teeth flew out from his mouth.
+”Ah, there you are, I’m on my way!”+
Soon after Neuron landed before Kyle, but instead of helping him kill the bandits he touched his shield and jumped away
+”Kyle, grab your shield with all you have!”+
*Oh God, not again* he thought while doing as told, but it was in vain, because the air before him began to glimmer, and two threads appeared, that where cleanly attached to his shield, and then he took off.
“Neuron you bastard!” he shouted, while he got accelerated at an astronomical pace, cleaving through the bandits like a boat does with the water of a lake. It was to debate if those that stood in his way were worse of, or those that had the Rubber Band going through their bodies or stood in its way.
The first group got flung into the air, their limbs moving like those of ragdolls, to smash into the cliffs on both sides or into their comrades, only to leave some blood stains behind, that many people will look at and ask themselves:”What in the world can smash its enemies 20 meter high into the air?”
Then there was the other group, when the rubber band tightened itself It cut right through their abdomen, letting their innards fall out, while they were howling.
Lucky for Kyle all those bandits that where in his way slowed him down, and even provided a cushion for him when his journey ended at the rocks that Neuron let fall down.
But while smashing into them he got covered by all sorts of body fluids, because he literally flattened them.
While he pulled himself together Neuron appeared by his side
“That was great!”
“Please don`t do that again!”
“No time to argue, look, it seems they acknowledged us as enemies!”
And indeed, the expression the bandits gave changed, but it wasn`t because of anger, it was because they felt fear facing those two demons, that just toyed with them, and where covered with the blood of their comrades. So they just charged ahead, not caring for their lives, the only thing that filled their minds was: *I have to get out of here!*
Then Neuron mumbled something and threads appeared before him going through many bandits and hindering their charging, then Neuron said to Kyle:”Attention, I will use jump on your back, use the momentum to charge into those bandits”

“Say when you are ready”
After a moment:” Now!”
Kyle performed push once again and charged right into the part where the most threads where located, ripping it out of some bodies, or pulling those in which it got stuck with him, but he didn´t come far even with the acceleration Neuron provided him, because soon the maximum of pushable enemies was reached, and so he had to stop, while those he pulled with him slithered on the ground, because of their momentum, completely tangling Kyle up.
+”Hey Neuron, could you cancel your threads?”+
+”Why, aren`t they of help?”+
+”They are, but I got entangled somehow”+ he said while looking at those bandits that where still stuck on the thread laying around beside him.
While Neuron canceled the threads Kyle began to kill all those bandits around him, then he turned around, only to see that none were left, some tried to climb over the boulders, but they were felled by Neurons arrows. And only a few managed to escape.
And then it became quiet, while somewhere some bandits where laying on the ground moaning and awaiting their death, while the sky that could be seen from their position changed color
While the sun rose over the horizon, shining into the valley and illuminating what they have done
“Phew, Neuron we have done an awful work” Kyle said while looking at the battlefield before them which was still covered by cut off body parts, intestines, brain pieces, and of course Blood, Blood in quantities never known to them. While they looked over the battlefield they noticed that some bodies, although covered in blood weren`t disintegrating, and so they also had to do the dirty work of cleaning up, but while fighting their anger subsided, and thus they gave the bandits that played dead a quick death.
Neuron PoV
While Neuron walked towards the bandits head he had tossed into a edge of the room, Kyle exited the building, when he lifted the head up Neuron thought
*That’s just eerie, holding that severed head, I don`t wanna hold it for too long!*
After thinking that he attached a mana thread on it, and began to climb the house, luckily it only had one floor, and sow Neuron was able to jump on it, using a house in the vicinity as stepping stone, now on the roof he pulled the head up, inhaled some air and began shouting.
“ATTENTION; OUR LEADER WAS KILLED BY AN ASSASIN!; I HEARD HIM SAYING WHILE KILLING HIM LEADER, THAT SOON WE WILL BE RAIDED BY AN ARMY!”
Then one shouted, “How shall we know that it wasn`t you that killed him!?”
“If I did that I wouldn`t stand up here alerting you all, anyway, I’m out of here, if you believe me or not is your problem!!!!”
What also helped him out was the shout of one guard: “Alarm, Alarm, we have an intruder!”
And after he heard that Neuron vanished from the roof not before tossing the head down, so that they could check if it really was their leader
What they heard was given along between the bandits; till one sounded the alarm bell and everyone dashed outside and tried to escape. Some idiot also set the whole place on fire.
Now Neuron was hurrying towards the 20m broad valley that connected this town to the outside world and which was blocked by a wall on which he stopped, looking at the bandits that rushed through the gate into liberty.
*Not when I’m here* he thought while he canceled the treads, that held the trigger of those traps together, letting the boulders rain down.
At this moment he thought *this is for you, little girl* and then he began to laugh insanely while the boulders crushed the screaming bandits, because he was again consumed by rage.
Had Neuron noticed the situation he would have feared himself, because the fire that lighted the scenery behind him made him look like he was not from this world. But his anger was also somewhat understandable, because he blamed himself, had he just found her faster, this turd wouldn’t have been able to hurt her, like he did.
While the bandits still screamed out of fear for the unknown, Neuron jumped off the wall and headed towards the location where the boulders crashed on the ground, before the dust cloud even lifted itself. While he ran towards his destination he sent Kyle a whisper
+“Hey Kyle, have you found the captives?”+
+“Yeah, I found them inside a cellar and freed them; they are now heading towards the fields to seek shelter.”+
+“Good, you ready to kill some more bandits?”+
+“Of course!”+ Kyle answered, and then Neurons mouth formed itself into a smile that even his mother would have feared.
Before the bandits could regroup themselves Neuron jumped towards some boulders and touched them with his hands to form some connections, as preemptive measures. Then he positioned himself on top of the pile of boulders and began shooting arrows into the bandits that charged at him, killing a few of them.
Then, he heard a loud shout that sounded like “For the Girl!” in Kyle’s voice.
Because of that he looked into the direction it came from while activating his Hawkeyes, to see every detail. And what he saw he couldn`t believe.
At the part where the door is located many bandits tried to go through, but thy where stuck, then Neuron saw a figure glowing with a purple light, that left a bluish trail behind itself, while charging through the bandits that blocked its way, then something astonishing happened. Neuron assumed it to be because of the pressure that Kyle exerted to the stuck bandits, which succeeded a certain amount. But this idea came to him only afterwards.
Because for the moment the view he saw completely cancelled all of his thinking processes, making him look idiotic with his jaw dropped and drool coming out. But it was understandable, because Kyle somehow managed to go through those bandits which somehow just got flung into the air, circling around and crashing into walls and their comrades. Then he looked towards Kyle *Has he really anticipated this outcome, no, he looks stunned to*, he thought before he sent Kyle a whisper.
+”hey Kyle, that was nicely done!”+

After this was finished Neuron looked towards Kyle, and saw that he began moving into his direction, although slowly, but with powerful hits he managed to free himself from the bandits that where in his way, he even managed to fling them up into the air, and out of his way.
*oh, Kyle, I am not going to lose* he thought, and then he sent him a whisper
+”Kyle, attention, I am going to use shower, ready your shield!”+ he said while he readied his bow, nocked an arrow on the string, and shot the arrow high up into the air while thinking *Till this comes down Kyle will have enough time to shield himself* and because it was at beginner level 9 every arrow he shot in rapid succession, got cloned into 10, producing a shower of 100 Arrows, but then a bandit managed to climb to where Neuron was, so he had to stop shooting and to focus on him.
Which he did, but not in the way the bandit thought of, Neuron just charged towards the bandit, and evaded his horizontal slash at the last second with a jump, while Neuron flew over the bandit he touched his armor on the shoulder and when this was done he connected him to one of those boulders and activated Rubber band, and thus letting the bandit smash into the others that tried to climb over that obstacle.
But the cruelty of this method let the bandits back off from those boulders but they couldn´t go far, because those behind them hindered their backward movements.
Seeing that they couldn’t move Neuron jumped in the middle of a neatly arranged pack of bandits and turned around, while hacking off arms and legs, when he finished the circle he just jumped away to perform the same routine on others. While he did so his Sadism leveled up twice, and his armor got covered by the blood that splattered out of the cut off limbs.
While the bandits shouted like crazy, clutching their severed limbs, to prevent dying from blood loss. Those that saw that massacre put even more distance between themselves and Neuron, completely blocking of the guys that came from behind, and thus making it impossible to move forwards or backwards. Then he received a whisper from Kyle
+”Neuron, some help would be appreciated!”+
+”Where are you?”+
+”There were a bandit will soon fly into the air!”+
*huh, what does that mean?* Neuron thought, then he saw a bandit taking off from the ground and flying high up into the air, while apparently blood gushed out from his mouth and teeth flew around.
+”Ah, there you are, I’m on my way!”+
Soon after saying that Neuron landed before Kyle, but instead of helping him kill the bandits he touched his shield and jumped away
”Kyle, grab your shield with all you have!” he shouted, while jumping away and thinking *I wonder what will happen next* before he activated Rubber band on those two connections he made with Kyle’s shield and two of boulders. The result was just breathtaking. Kyle shot through those bandits while shouting “Neuron you bastard!”, and leaving a wake of destruction behind him.
His acceleration was indeed so fast, and the bandits so close together, that it appeared, as if Kyle was a ship that cleaved through those bandits, like it does with the water surface. Smashing many bandits into the wall, or lifting them high up in the air, were they spun around uncontrolled till they either slammed into the walls, into their own comrades, or onto the floor, leaving only a trail of blood behind.
But the Rubber Band itself also caused some deaths, either by going through them when manifested, or while tightening itself. Some bandits even laid there dying with their abdomen cleanly cut apart, and their innards gushing out, while howling like crazy.
When Kyle stopped Neuron again went near him and said
“That was great!”
“Please don`t do that again!”
“No time to argue, look, it seems they acknowledged us as enemies!”

After seeing that Neuron remembered his Gold coins he threw over the cliff and mumbled while activating Mana thread to no one in particular “I want to have my cash back, so if you would be so kind” and that caused the bandits to stop, because many threads formed themselves going through their bodies. When they noticed them they of course tried to get free, by either cutting them, or just pulling on them, hurting whoever was before or after tem in the line.
After that Neuron added looking towards Kyle:”I will use jump on your back, use the momentum to charge into those bandits”
“Say when you are ready”
Neuron positioned himself behind Kyle and when he shouted “now” he jumped up, put his feet on Kyle’s back and jumped off, giving Kyle a mighty push, while he himself flew over the boulders”
While Neuron had to pull himself together, because he landed awkwardly on a stone which he didn`t anticipate laying there, a whisper came from Kyle
+”Hey Neuron, could you cancel your threads?”+

*How did he manage that?* Neuron thought, and while canceling them he jumped over the boulders to help Kyle who already finished of the Bandits around him. Because of that Neuron looked around, to locate any that are still moving. And truly he spotted some that tried to escape, but he quickly took care of them with his arrows, and only very few managed to escape.
And then it became quiet, somewhere some bandits where laying on the ground moaning and awaiting their death, while the sky that could be seen from their position changed its color.
