Chapter 02: The rip off Quest

Without bothering he turned his attention towards the longbows, having in mind, that using a bow that had a much higher drawing force would increase strength faster, so Neuron shuffled through the longbows, and stretching the bow-string towards his cheek, until he was sure, that the bow he had now in his hand was the hardest to draw.

While shooting at the nearest Target to get accustomed to the bow two messages appeared before him:

* You have gained the skill: Bow Mastery

* You have gained the skill: Shooting Posture: Passive

While being surprised that the message came so fast, because he heard, that you have to shoot at the same target for over an hour to get this skill, and he never heard of the second, so he decided to look at them.

* Bow Mastery

Increases attack power with Bows (+10 % Attack Damage)

Increases Accuracy with Bows (+3 % Accuracy)

Raised by Shooting arrows.

* Shooting Posture: Passive

By shooting with the right posture accuracy and critical chance improve

+10% Accuracy

+3% critical hit chance

Lowers the restriction of bows by 5%

His fast acquisition of Bow Mastery was because he had RL experience with bows, if you are already able to do something, it would be unthinkable to learn it from scratch in the game, because of that the skill acquisition and leveling of them becomes a little bit easier, but this goes only to a limited point, if you learned something in RR that you couldn`t perform outside beforehand you will struggle and have your difficulty with it, because of that most players get the short end of the stick, because in the training hall, the players there are just beating the scarecrows instead of using proper techniques, it wouldn`t matter if they were given a baseball bat, or a wooden sword.

And adding to his RL experience was, that he shot with many different bows to decide which bow to use in the future, because it would be deadly if you use a bow who you weren`t accustomed with. And having shown a mediocre to good performance with them

What he didn`t know, was that the Long Bow he chose had a drawing power of 50 kg, fortunately for him he found a shelf with finger protectors, if not, so much force would have cut deep into his fingers. But unfortunately, there were no armguards, because of all the players taking them with them, who experienced the most painful thing you can while shooting with a bow. And this is getting hit by the Bow-string on the forearm. Because of that many Archers have acquired the skill endurance.

After getting the feeling for the longbow he decided to shoot at the target furthest into the back at 70m. Just to see if he could hit and if he missed he could retrieve the arrows easier because the target is standing near the wall.

He took his stance, both his feet about a shoulder length apart with the left foot in front facing the target, and the right at a 90° degree angle to it. Then he nocked an arrow on the string bringing the bow upwards inhaling, and then exhaling while putting it down and drawing the arrow to his cheek using only his shoulder muscles. Then he holds his breath while aiming.

Activating Hawk eyes he saw the target as if he was standing in front of it, but he soon had to cancel it, because he only saw the target, and not the arrowhead which is used to aim.

So he remained a longer time in the ready position until…

* Strength: +1

He let out a grunt, and the arrow lose

The “instructor” being curious if the boy would hit the target at which he aimed, just shook his head, because he saw him twitching at the moment of release and the arrow flying way past the target

*That surprised me!*

Neuron shot arrows for approximately one hour only increasing his skill proficiency by 10%, because he now used more time for aiming but with no results so far.

Due to nothing happening anymore he soon became annoyed, contributing to that was that he had to always to gather the arrows which reminded him of one of the reasons he quit archery, another reason he quit was, that he sometimes hit himself with the bowstring, while letting the arrow loose, thus making his left forearm all red and swollen, and each time losing 10Hp

*Why the fuck are there no Armguards around, is this is supposed to be an archery, or not?*

With that he now started another plan he had in his mind before playing.

If only he had found more information about the tailoring skill, this whole Episode wouldn`t have happened.

He went outside searching for a Blacksmith, seeing the advertising shield right next door. As he went near the shop he saw a sign

* I`m away tending for a Friend

After reading it Neuron turned his head and asked the next person which came across: “Sorry are there other Blacksmiths in town?”

Passerby: “Why”

*Oh, come on use your head a little*

While putting up a smile he said: “to learn the skill.”

The Passerby replied while shuddering at the sight of that smile: “Well that is literally impossible”

Now it was his time to ask: “Why”

“Because the other is a dwarf and dwarfs only teach dwarfs.”

*Well maybe I can talk him to teaching me the skill*

Looking at him the passerby somehow knew what this man was thinking and added:”dwarfs aren`t susceptible for bribery or flattery, they`ll only think of it being some sort of insult when they’re coming from a human.”

“Ah, thanks for the info”

*Just how is he able to read what I was thinking*

The passerby thought while turning around and going his ways, *poor guy, thinks he can deceive someone with his poor acting skills ^^*

Now with this minor (major) setback he asked the next passerby where the nearest tailoring shop is located, and soon after Neuron stood before the shop, inside the windows he saw well fabricated clothes, dresses and a leather armor, as advertisement for the adventurers.

While entering the Shopkeeper welcomed Neuron and asked what he could do for him.

“I`m here to learn the art of tailoring”

This is good, I need work to be done, and my assistant run away, if you do the work for me, I’ll teach you tailoring.

“I accept!” he replied immediately even before the quest window with the details showed up

* You have accepted the quest

* New Skill: Tailoring

Then the shopkeeper accompanied him to a small windowless Backroom who was lacking furniture, well it was really small, so only a Table and a Chair could be fit inside facing to the right, and pointed at a large pile of clothes who were dumped on the table.

“There patch them all up”

[i]*Oh gawd, how long will it take, till I finish?*

At this time he noticed that the pile had many socks in it, so he asked the the tailor for a wooden egg, who was surprised at the fact that Neuron knew about this little tool.

It was thanks to his Grandma who he watched sewing when he was little. While mending socks she put a wooden egg to make the sewing process easier.

“Look inside the drawers of this table, there should be everything that you need, and if not come to me and I`ll give it to you.”

Then Neuron shouted “Show Quest Window!” Because he had accepted the quest, before it could pop up.

* Quest:

4 days, additional rewards will be given to you.

While exiting the room the Tailor heard something that made him grin, it was Neuron, who cursed through his teeth.
