Chapter 05: The Instructor returns

While Neuron was watching TV, a light bulb appeared above his head, he jumped up and shouted

“Yes that’s what I`m going to do!”

And a really evil smile appeared on his face, luckily no one was in the room, and he not logged in, because then he might have gotten some Infamy, just because he was able to make such a evil expression.

Actually Alex is an only child, with his father far away, (think what you want), and his mother being a pilot, he was mostly alone at home, but that didn`t bother him much. He knew how to pass time.

As soon as the show finished he logged back in and went to ask the tailor a few questions.

Depending on the answer he would then perform his revenge.

“Do you know, that the normal way to acquire tailoring is sewing on some bottoms?”

“Yeah, I do, but my assistant ran away, leaving the work behind, and then you came in, perfect not?”

“Well yeah, but what would happen if I abandon the quest?”

“Oh, right, well I set it so, that you`d never be able to learn tailoring”

With this he expected the boy to give some reaction, but nothing came, he only went inside the room

“Well that’s it for ya, just so you know, you have to finish in a week time, if not, I`ll cancel the quest” he shouted through the door

*Have it your way, I’m having it my way*

With this he began to remove all the stitches, well he left the socks alone. It was good to see, that even with that activity he gained proficiency at tailoring.

Then he began to patch the clothes again, but this time not looking if the scraps he sewed on had the right pattern, actually he choose those who had the worst color, he also used different bottoms on each shirt, thus making the finished products looking hilarious.

*Looking good, although only a clown would dress up with them*

He didn`t care if this was childish, he had fun and that counted, and to boot he could increase his proficiency.

So night fell, but he never noticed, until the candle went out, there he was now in pitch black room searching for the door, when he found it he tumbled out, straining his eyes, so that he could see but nonetheless he couldn`t see his hand before his eyes, so while he tried to find the door he bumped into everything. Reducing his health quite a bit and leveling up endurance once, finally arriving at the door he pulled down the door handle, but couldn`t open the door.

*That does it, now I`m really pissed *

* New skill: Night vision

You are now able to see in the dark

Because you already have a vision skill,

this skill will be added to its list

“Show Hawk Eye”

* Hawk Eye: Passive

Enables you to see things that are far away more clearly

Because of your special eyes it will activate when you strain them

They will only be visible when activated

Contrary to their nature they allow you to see in the dark, costs 20mana per minute

Slightly increases critical hit chance.

Caution:

Because they look a lot like Demon eyes, NPC`s will be afraid of you, when they see them.

Neuron activated the night vision, and finally could see the path of carnage he had made

Then he tried to pick the lock, but to no avail

*Well I`m not gonna work through the night* With that thought he logged out.

As soon as it was day again in RR he logged back in.

The next day he put all those clothes in his inventory, and headed out of the shop, while the tailor asked him

“What already enough of my hospitality, you sure, that you don`t want to work inside my shop anymore?” Keukkeuk

Ignoring him Neuron went his ways

*He`s going to get some problems when I bring back the clothes.*

While walking to the archery a new pop up appeared

* Mana Connection has leveled up: Beginner Lv5

The thread has gotten stronger

It now costs 50 Mana per meter

Then he decided to ask Kyle something, to determine his course of action

“Kyle do you have a moment?”

“Yeah, just taking a break, What`s the matter?” Kyle thought it had to be something important, because he never heard Neuron being this serious

“Well how important are stats really in this game?”

“What?”

Neuron could actually hear Kyle`s mouth drop”

*Damn was this question really that stupid?*

“Why do you think I`m beating stupid scarecrows all day long?”

“Well…”

“It’s to gain stats!, in this game everything is counted using your stats and your level, if you have more stats you are more powerful, and have an easier time fighting”

At this answer Neuron let out a long sight

“What?”

“Well I just thought about what I have to do”

“and because that you sigh?”

“Well it involves a lot of work”

“Ah yeah…, I bet you thought you have to level your stats?”

“Yes, and that’s an unpleasant thought, oh I so don`t wanna do that…”

“Then don`t do it”

“Well I`ll have to”

At that they closed Neuron closed the whisper

Shaking his head Kyle got up, his break had ended

*Well I don`t want to do this either*

But what he didn`t tell Neuron was, that the Monsters outside where much tougher than the ones you find around normal city’s, his brother told him laughing, that if he didn`t train his stats even a single rabbit outside town could kill him, them being Lv5.

With dropped shoulders Neuron walked around town to find a somewhat large stone he could take with him, finding one, he brought it to the archery, not minding the looks and pointing fingers he got

*Luckily those are all NPC`s so no one will film me*

When he arrived at the archery he took out a empty cotton reel and wrapped his mana string around.

As soon as his mana had recovered a bit he wrapped more thread around.

Then he reeled everything back in. To do that, he just had to imagine himself as a reel that, well, reeled the thread back in, it looked really cross seeing the thread being reeled in through his navel, but with that he could store a tremendous amount of mana, even if only for 5min.

Now he went to the boulder, and connected himself to it. Then he touched the stone with both hands, creating two connections and thus two mana threats.

*Now back to shoot*

He began with the well trained process of shooting at each target from where he stood, having finished his arrows he went to dash two the nearest target, dragging the stone behind him.

He arrived at the first target panting heavily

*This is harder than I thought*

He then went to gather all arrows dragging the boulder behind him

But then he heard a sound like a tree branch breaking, after that he became disoriented, because the world turned upside down, when he got his sense s back, he found himself lying headfirst on the ground with his butt sticking out and pointing to heaven.

* Due to a strong impact you have lost 50Hp

* Endurance: +1

Then Neuron heard a loud laughter from the entrance

“Who thought that when I finally got my health back and returned to my archery the first thing I’d see is a butt!”

Standing in the entrance was a old man with long white hair, that touched his shoulders, but despite him being old, he hasn`t lost a single strand of hair, he looked really unassuming, just like any old man, but it wasn`t a coincidence that he was the Instructor of this hall, when he held a bow his demeanor totally changed, at this moment he sent of an aura of danger, but without a bow in his hands he was a playful character,

After hearing that the “instructor” came out of his office and after seeing the person shouted

“Well look whose back from the deathbed”

“Glad to see you too, anything happen while I was away”

“Nothing much, just some freedman who went to our village and tried to learn archery, but gave up”

“What about him” he said, while pointing towards neuron who finally got into a sitting position, holding his head, hoping it would soon stop spinning

“Well that’s an odd one, he browsed through all bows, testing some of them out, and only choosing a bow to shoot with, after one hour”

“Heh” was the only sound the old man made

“Well so now I´m going back to my shop”

Neuron understanding something rose up and asked: “Does that mean you aren`t the instructor?”

“Well yeah, I`m a Blacksmith”

“What a blacksmith, then is the shop right next to this archery yours?”

“Yup”

Kyle just wanted to say something, but was interrupted by the old man

“Do you even know this kids name?”

“No, we had something of a rough start, and then with mutual understanding we never bothered with each other, him coming and going how he pleased, and me tending to this archery, although nothing ever happens!”

“Well do I have to remind you of your debt?”

“No, of course not” he said trying to make a smile.

“So now it`s introduction time, I`m Brairan the Archery instructor, who fell ill and came back”

*has this old man some screws loose?*

“Hello my name is Neuron, and I`m here for training”

“Well, anyone can find out, from you being here” was the Blacksmiths reply

“What he meant was probably that he wanted to stick to his training till he has completed it, right?”

The last part was aimed at Neuron, so he answered “Well yes, I heard it will help you in the long run”

“Ya see” Brairan said nodding towards the temporary instructor

“OK ok, I understand, so hello my name is Warnton, and finally I can go to my shop, the business stagnation wasn`t good for my shop”

“although I don`t have any business right now, but everything is better than tending to this archery” the last part was mumbled, while he went towards the exit, so no one could understand him

“Now Neuron, let’s talk”

“Ähm ok.”

“So I heard you didn`t choose a bow right off the bat and tried shooting, why”

“That’s because i had to find a bow that suited me”

“And which bow did you choose?

“This” he said while handing it to Brairan

“Well, well”, he said while examining the bow, “so why did you choose this particular bow?”

“Hmm, because it has the biggest drawing strength of all the bows in here”

“Yeah” Brairan said, while waving him to continue

“Well if the drawing strength is greater, aiming becomes more difficult, and I thought, if I can master this bow, I won`t have problems with the others”

“Good, and what does it have to do with that stone you dragged behind you like a madman till you kissed the ground”

Neuron opened his mouth to give a retort, but then saw the old man smiling

“It was to train”

“Training dragging a boulder behind you, now that’s something for a martial artist, but not for an archer”

“No, it was to raise stamina and vitality, a archer also has to learn close combat, because it will not always be possible to wipe out the enemy before they reach you”

“True, true, well I think we will have quite a fun time together”
