Chapter 22 Race
“Damn, I’m almost out of arrows, hey wait, what’s that?” Activating his Hawkeyes, he saw at the foot of the giant mountain before them who was nearly fully covered in snow and looked like the highest around, something, that he had missed, well he didn`t know that he missed it, till he saw it.
*Wow, never thought that I would miss trees*
Actually wandering around in grassland without any trees makes you miss them.
“What did you see?”
“A forest”
“Great, I`d like to have some protection of this shitty wind that is blowing here since a while.”
As they neared this particular mountain that appeared to be the highest in their whole vicinity a strong cold wind blew, giving both of them a cold. So Neuron had to use his less than good tailor skill to make them some protection out of Troll fur. While wearing that they looked really hideous, but it served its purpose, although every city guard that performed their job well would have attacked them upon seeing.
But when they entered the forest, they were heavily disappointed; the forest was really thin, and thus not managing to stop the wind.
“Hey Neuron, I have an idea for your arrows!”
“Really?”
“Yeah, just give me some time, ah, and leave me alone, I want to surprise you”
“Ok” And while wandering away he thought while looking up at the mountain
*Hmmm, what can I do, while he is busy*

After two hours were long past, Neuron finally got the message that Kyle was done. So he hurried towards were Kyle was when he left him.
“Hey Kyle, what do you have for me?”
“Here” and with that he tossed him an arrow, after catching it Neuron observed it, it didn`t look that much different, only the tip was really thin and long, like a needle

“Well, I thought, that those would pierce armor more easily, well just try”

“Well, I pocketed also a armor which I wanted to give to you, when you met the requirements, but I totally forgot about it, after we received this new gear” While saying that he pulled out a really shiny armor
“Boah, and this armor is really weaker than that I`m wearing right now?”
“Yup” And with that he fastened the armor to a tree and after distancing himself from it he shot the Bodkin at it.
“See I told you it would work!”
“Yeah, seems like it”
The arrow penetrated the arrow completely, half of it sticking out the other side
“Now let’s test it again”
“Again?, you clearly saw the result”
“True, but I want you to use your mana coating on it”
“Nice idea”

The Bodkin he shot at the arrow again penetrated it, but the only difference was, that it didn’t penetrate all the way through.

After Neuron received the bar he took a normal arrow out of his inventory, the he put both materials in front of him.
*Good, I hope it works*
“Arrow Creation Bodkin” he said, and then a yellow light appeared, when it disappeared before him laied a new Bodkin arrow. The arrow he put there was gone, and the iron bar had a hole inside equal to the arrow head of the bodkin
“Boah, so that’s how this skill works!”
Then Neuron tried it again, only this time he put more arrows on the ground and said
“Arrow creation Bodkin Times 5” But nothing happened
“hey, what`s happening before it worked just fine?”
“I guess it means that I have to make every arrow separately, damn what a pain in the ass”
“hey, maybe you can mass-produce them when the skill is at a sufficient level”
“I hope so, I hope so, ähm Kyle?”
“Yeah” he answered worriedly
“Do you want to go mountain climbing?”
“Why?”
“Just look at the mountain behind you, doesn`t it seem to be the highest around here?”
“Yeah, but I don`t think climbing it will be easy, look at all that snow, and would climbing it even profit us?”

“Good, so when are you suggesting going up there?”
“Well as soon as possible would be good, but I still have to prepare, mainly we need good clothes to protect us from the wind and snow.
“hmm, so what about in two days in game, I have to get some sleep”
“Sounds good, but be here at daybreak”
“Right, see you.”

“Hey Kyle ready to go mountain climbing?” Neuron asked as soon as kyle appeared, “Here I have something for you, this will protect you from the cold much better than my previous work, and also while going up remove your armor, don`t worry, i looked out for monsters, and i didn`t spot any”
“Hey thanks” And with that Kyle started his way up but he soon stopped “hey Neuron you`re not coming?”
“I have some more work to do, but don`t worry I will watch you from here and warn you if some monsters are around you.”
“I hope so, but I must say those Hawkeyes are really convenient”
“Hmmm, but I wanted them for another purpose”
“I think one time you will be able to use them for this purpose, so see ya I have a mountain to conquer!”
“Right and don`t worry, I will catch up with ya”

Sometime later, Kyle just managed to get over the snowline, and soon felt climbing become harder because of the snow.
“Hey Kyle, I see you are over the Snowline”
“Boah, those Hawkeyes are truly accurate, do you see this?” And with that he made the piece sign with both his hand
“Jup, but why the Peace sign?”
“Nope, that was the victory sign, cause you will never be able to catch up to me, and boah, you can actually see it?”
“Nice, ain`t it? But why won`t I be able to catch up?”
“Without armor, climbing is really easy, I literally run up this mountain and I ain`t even out of breath”
“See, I told ya before to just take of that heavy armor, but anyways, wanna make a bet?”
*Wow, he really is sure about himself, so shall I, but the snow will constrict his movements more, cause he has less strength*
“What do you suggest we bet?”
“hmm, How about the looser has to dress like a girl and walk through a city full of Players?”
“Hey, were we are going there ain`t any Players!”
“Just see it as a long term bet”
“Alright I accept but so that you know the snow will be a much bigger obstacle for you, than it is for me, ”
“Why?”
“Cause you need strength to climb a mountain full of snow”
“Don`t worry, I`ll catch up with you”
“Not if I won`t let you”
“Wow, now you’re really sprinting up the mountain”
“Jup, I don`t want to dress as a girl”
“Me neither, so see ya soon”

Another hour passed, when Kyle heard neuron, but this time it wasn`t a whisper, he heard him clearly from behind.
“Hey there, I caught up to you”
*How the fuck is that possible?*
When Kyle looked back he saw Neuron jumping from one stone to another quickly catching up to him.
“No, how the hell did you do that?”
“I`ll tell you at the tip, so yeah later” And while saying that he touched Kyle’s shoulder, while jumping away
*Boah, that damn Bastard, he had an ace upon his sleeve, maybe he cheated, yeah, he has to, no one can catch up so fast*
“Hey Neuron you cheater!” He whispered
“Hey I didn`t cheat”
“Yeah, and do you have proof?”
“Yes I have, but I´ll show it to you when we arrive at the top”

Half an hour later
“Kyle, ähm sorry”
“What?”
“Ähm, I know you won`t like to hear this, but öhm, I caused an avalanche”
“What the fuck are you saying” Then Kyle looked up and saw a big wall of snow heading his way “Oh neuron, I’m so going to get revenge for that”
“Sorry, and ähm don`t worry I got you save”
“You got me save, I`m gonna be buried by a fucking avalanche, because of some idiot who didn`t watch where he placed his feet you bloody mur….” Kyle couldn`t finish his insults towards Neuron, because the avalanche cut of his words.
Everything was white, he was being jarred around so he couldn`t tell anymore were up and down was, he tried to scream, but his mouth only was filled with snow, and thus no sound escaped, but the worst, was the deafening sound of being buried alive. But as quickly as it began it ended. Now there was Kyle alone in a snow prison, he tried to move but couldn`t, because the snow prevented him from doing so.

*Great, I`m so going to Kill Neuron* but while he thought about cruel ways to do it he was pulled out of the snow by a tremendous force. Before he even could process what happened he flew way past Neuron and then he crashed.

“Wow, you flew really nicely”
“Oh, neuron I`m so going to Kill you!”
While saying that he charged towards Neuron fury blinding him, but Neuron just jumped out of the way and towards the tip of the Mountain, which Kyle noticed was only 500m away

And while thinking that he charged towards the tip, but one thing was odd, Neuron didn`t use his jump skill as frequently as he did before, and thus Kyle managed to close up to him, but all was in vain, because Neuron arrived at the tip only seconds before Kyle.
