The horses really took their sweet time but they finally had arrived, we mounted our horses and packed our stuff on them, Ana was staring at my backpack and my horse for some reason.
"How the hell is your horse able to carry all that stuff?"
She asked and pointed at my massive backpack. I had strapped the backpack onto the horses back where it stood in place quite well.
"I picked a strong horse, that's all."
I said and checked if the backpack was strapped on firmly.
"I want one too! Where did you find it from?"
Ana asked, I ignored her and began slowly galloping to the nearest way out of the town, Joy understood and followed me.
"Hey! Don't leave without me!"
Ana yelled and followed us. Right after we got to the nearest way out we slowed down.
"So... Where do we go?"
Joy asked both of us, we had no clue where we would go to.
"It's better if we just wandered around from town to town doing our thing, whatever our thing is."
I answered and sped up, both seemed fine with the idea and they followed. I checked the laser gun and it had two bullets in it now, then I checked the hand cannon and it was also loaded.
"Wait, I didn't reload the hand cannon, was it one of you guys?"
I asked and lifted the gun up so they would see it, Joy shook his head and so did Ana.
"Maybe it was that doctor?"
Joy asked me, I turned to him and looked at him.
"Hm, weird. I certainly did not reload this myself though."
I said and took out a shell from the cylinder, it was actually the real bullet type, the gun could only accept the specially made bullets. I shook my head, then put the shell back in and holstered the hand cannon.
"I have heard there is suppose to be a town if we keep heading this way! It's a town called Van Sandel!"
Ana shouted from behind, she was also holding a massive map in her hands.
If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
"You couldn't have said that earlier?"
I shouted back. She put the map down and stared at me.
"I just took the map out you moron! It takes time to analyze a map!"
Ana shouted and rolled the map and stuffed it into her pocket. I took out my watch and checked the time, the pendant was tangled with the chain of the watch so I began untangling them from each other. I managed to untangle them from each other, I put the watch into my pocket and took a look at the pendant. It was a picture of Andy and Rebecca, but they had grown up a lot, I barely could recognize them. In the picture they were sitting on a small sofa, smiling and looking at the camera, the smile was not forced, I could tell that.
"You two have grown, like me... But where are you now?"
I thought as I stared at the picture. Joy realized that I was starting at the pendant.
"So those are the people you're after?"
Joy asked me and galloped next to my horse. I squeezed the pendant and put it into my pocket and nodded. Joy stood quiet and slowed down a little to be behind me.
"I understand if you don't want to talk about it! Just don't let your thoughts and feelings get a hold of you!"
Joy yelled from behind. I turned to him and smiled a little.
"You ain't a doctor, buddy. I think I'm doing fine."
I said and shook my head. The ride was annoying and boring for everyone so none of us were in a great mood.
We were also passing a few houses every now and then but none of them had anyone living in them, they were in good condition as well.
"Look! There is something in the distance!"
Ana said and pointed at a house, it was burning and the flames were spreading a lot. We began heading to the burning house as fast as we could.
After we got to the house we checked the nearby area for water but we were in the middle of nowhere so we had no luck. Outside the entrance to the house we could see something so we approached it, it was a boy that was looking at the burning house.
"Um... Hello?.."
I said to the boy and slowly approached him, I signaled the others to stay behind. The boy stood quiet and stared at the house.
"...I take it so that this was your house... I'm I right?"
I asked the boy. The boy turned to look at me.
"No. It was my parents house, and I burned it down."
The boy said and turned to stare the burning house. I was speechless by this act.
"Is there a reason you did so?"
I asked the boy and sat down next to him.
"They abandoned me for a gang. They valued the gang more than their own child."
The boy said, I turned to look at him again.
"Do you know what gang?"
I asked the boy.
"The Red Skulls gang, the gang which is filled with assholes."
The kid said and threw a rock at the house.
"...Do you know where they left to? We could go see them again?"
I asked the boy once again.
"They left to the Van Sandel town a few days ago, I don't want to see them again."
The boy said and got up. I also got up.
"Well, that's alright after what they did... Do you need a ride there though? We happen to be heading there."
I said to the boy and began heading for my horse.
"...Sure."
The boy said and followed me. The boy didn't quite seem stressed or depressed about the whole thing, which was quite weird. We got to the horse and I realized that my horse was packed with stuff.
"Oh, yeah..."
I said and scratched my head. I turned to look at Joy's horse and smiled.
"Joy, take this boy with you, he's coming with us to Van Sandel."
I said and gentle pushed the boy towards Joy's horse.
"Alright?"
Joy said, he seemed skeptical about the boy, I didn't see the boy as a threat so I was ready to take him with us. After the boy had gotten on Joy's horse, we began heading to our destination, before we got out of the houses sight the boy wouldn't take his eyes off of the house, if he wanted to stare at it I wasn't gonna stop him.
