Soon the festival was ready, they were nearly done with the preparations so I began looking around for Joy, that task seemed harder than I thought. I thought he would be visible from the crowd since his hair was so different compared to the rest of the people but I was wrong. I continued to wander around the place looking for Joy.
I eventually gave up and sat down on a table that happened to be outside of an bar, the second I sat down the man from behind the counter came to me.
"What can I get you, sir?"
The man asked me and stood there smiling.
"Nothing, I won't drink until the festival starts, sorry about that."
I said to the man and he quickly left. Eventually I saw a guy with white hair on the distance so I left to see them, to my surprise it was actually Joy, he wasn't waiting for me to arrive so he was surprised.
"Oh, so you didn't black out!"
He said, he was mocking me of the fact that I would have wanted to drink already but couldn't.
"C'mon now, one wouldn't hurt and you know that."
I said, Joy laughed and still declined the idea. After a small chat about the stalls we heard an announcement through the radio that was outside the bar, for some reason the radio was chained up.

"Attention all participants of the festival! The festival is ready and is starting very soon, every participant should head to the gates to be there early and ready!"
The announcer said and went silent, seconds after the radio continued to play music from it. After that we quickly gathered our stuff and ran towards the gate to be ready for the festival.
"When we get there, keep that sheriff badge hidden! We don't want the people to know that a sheriff has entered the game!"
I yelled to Joy, then he took the badge that was inside of his coat and put it into his backpack.
"Is it bad that there is a sheriff in the game?"
Joy asked me as we were still running.
"Those people don't appreciate sheriffs when they take part in festivals or any games, they come there and take the game down or either way just ruin the mood for everyone."
I answered, I wasn't really sure if that was the case but I have seen them taking down a game for it not accepting sheriffs into it. Joy shrugged it off and continued like it never happened.
We had arrived at the gates, they were filled with people of all kinds, tall and short, weak and strong. It means that this will actually be little challenging for both of us.
"Alright everyone! Those who are doing this with someone, come here to sign your partner! Those who are participating alone must still come here to sign who are participating, can't let anyone get through without a nickname!"
A man said through a megaphone that everyone heard it. Everyone got in lines to sign the participants, there was a different line for those people who had a partner so we had to go to that one, it felt like this was going to take for ages. We finally managed to sign up and get in, of course it wasn't going to start yet since everyone had to sign up, the lines were massive. At least they were serving some snacks to us so we wouldn't starve here, I'm also starting to think that this waiting is more brutal than the whole competition.
