Everyone who wanted to participate had signed up and the gates were closed so more people couldn't join, the festival has officially started.
"Okay everyone! Tag along with your partner and get ready! The first competition will be powerlifting, get ready because it won't be done the same way it was done last year!"
The announcer said. I wasn't really sure what he meant by that but I got ready, Joy was also getting ready. There were wooden gates in front of us that opened. behind the gates were logs, different kinds of logs. Some were bigger and some were smaller but those had spikes on them. There was a bumpy road that was muddy and sandy and all the way in the back was a finish line.
"Choose a log you are going to carry with your partner, you can't change it once you choose one!"
The announcer said. Joy was looking around all confused not sure what to do, I wasn't sure either. Everyone began looking around the logs, of course people avoided the spiky logs even though they were lighter than the others. We took an almost normal looking log, the log was very thick but slightly shorter than the others. A few people even took the spiky ones, there was also one person carrying a whole spiky log all by themself.
"Okay! Pick up your logs and hold them as you wish. After picking up the logs, they cannot be put down or they cannot touch the ground in anyway! Or else you are disqualified from the competition!"
The announcer yelled and began counting down to send us on our way. Joy and I had lifted the log so it was on both of our shoulders so it was easier to carry. I spotted that there were other obstacles on the road to the victory line.

"And also! The audience is provided with different items to make this as hard as possible!"
The announcer yelled and took out some items for example. There were spiky metal balls, tomatoes and all kinds of small objects. Joy looked a little stressed out but I encouraged him a little bit.
"Everyone ready? 3...2...1... Get goinggg!!"
The announcer yelled and after that everyone was running and the audience was throwing stuff at us. Some of the people already dropped their log because the audience managed to hit them in the right spot and either way just by being clumsy. Joy and I were doing good so far and a dozen of others were also doing great. The route was approximately two kilometers long and there were hundreds of participators and the first fifty would be qualified to attend the next competition.
"There is also a thirty minute time limit in this competition! Those who don't finish in that time will be disqualified from the competition so be cautious!"
The announcer yelled. Joy looked confused and turned to look at the announcer.
"Hey announcer! Are the participators allowed to sabotage others?"
Joy yelled and waved his hand at the announcer.
"Oh great point! Other participators are allowed to sabotage each other by pushing them, no weapons allowed or you will be disqualified!"
The announcer yelled and laughed.
After people heard that they are allowed to sabotage each other people began falling like flies, they even tried to push us but we managed to push them away. We didn't try to push anyone just in case we won't make enemies. The further we got in the route the worse the conditions got, the ground got far more muddy and there were small man made hills we had to climb. Everything got harder for everyone and we were making more mistakes than before, those being almost dropping the log and falling over.
