‘BANG’ The window was unlocked previously and now it opened because of the pressure, now it was banging with the storm.
“Window is being assaulted so badly, go help her.” She said getting up and sitting on the bed with her back supported by the headboard.
“You go, I am tired.” He said sitting on the space created by her while sitting up. The window was in his arm span but suddenly he wanted to act spoiled.
“It’s your responsibility as a gentleman to help a maiden in distress.”
“I am no gentleman.”
“ C’mon, you just need to stretch your arm a bit.” She said with a small frown.
“Is it like that?”
He moved over her and sat on the other side of the bed.
“You are closer now.”
“Dude?”
“You are closer to the window now.”
“Ahh whatever” She got up from the bed to close the window, but was suddenly pulled back by him.
“What now?”
“She’ll be the one closing it.”
“Who?”
“Kiddo, no more sneak peek.”
The door creaked open slowly at his remark and the kid from the orc area entered the room.
“He’s a she??”
“Yes, ‘she’ is a she.”
“But her hair, why are they so short? And her talking style and… why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“Was it necessary?”
“…”
“Close the window sis”
She smiled and closed the window. She looked at them one by one and got on the bed as well. Stepping on Ashleen's leg she quickly got between them.
“Hey, you wanna sleep?”
“Don’t even think about it.”
“Haha, alright alright, hey Anik I wanna eat potato fritters.” She said looking at the rain accompanied by the strong winds.
“With tea” added the kid.
“Hey! What’s your name?”
“My name?” she half smirking smiled, looking into Ashleen’s eyes as if staring into a void and said continuing. “It’s Gayatri.”
“Gayatri… I think I’ve heard this name before.”
“Yes, you have.”
Anik looked at the girl, Gayatri. She’s the one who has made the demon go insane. He had to suffer countless years in this place, unable to get out of the newcomer area. He was waiting for her to seek revenge, but in the book, she never appeared… how’s this possible?
Does that mean that in the comic Gayatri just died so pathetically?
Anik looked at Ashleen, trying to find any abnormalities in her behavior. But everything seemed just fine… except for her eye color.
“You are finally back.” Said the demon
“I am, thanks to this child.”
Child? Sounds funny. She doesn’t even look ten and she’s calling him child. He’s almost 20 this year and she’s calling him a child.
“What took you so long?”
“I retrieved my memories recently and came here as soon as I did.” She shrugged.
“So you didn’t even remember your psychotic self when I was waiting for you for these countless years?”
“Correct"
The demon laughed with a palm on the face. “I was wondering if you even got the chance to reincarnate… and you didn’t even remember.”
She lifted her head in anticipation.
“My revenge..."
“What the f- she’s just a kid yet, don’t even think about it.” Ashleen was the one who spoke this time as her eye color was black again.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Anik took Gayatri in his arms as if suggesting Demon stop. Ashleen misunderstood the situation. Judging how strong someone is based on their age is the biggest mistake one can make in this world. If Gayatri and Demon fought now, this entire kingdom would turn into ashes in a few seconds. Anik had no intention of ruining her innocent thinking yet so he played in her misunderstanding.
Demon: “You dare come in my way?”
Ashleen: “You dare touch her until she’s 18?”
Gayatri: “How are you even able to interrupt him? It’s not possible…”
Demon: “Don’t come in the way”
Gayatri: “It’s alright my mental age is over a thousand”
Ashleen: “Did I ask you kiddo?”
Anik: “Just listen to us, until you turn 18.”
Demon: “You darn bugs, I’ll kill you.” A dark red aura started forming around her.
Ashleen: “I am sorry sir, but it is my body.” And the aura dissipated instantly.
Demon: “You… how?”
Ashleen shrugged and looked at the kid. “You better wait, you both. I don’t care what your ‘mental’ age is, as long as you don’t turn 18, don’t ever think about it.”
Gayatri chuckled and looked at both of the ‘children’.
“Okay, I guess we have no other option but to listen to you.”
“Good girl.”
Demon: “I’ll make sure you regret it.” The demon had lived long enough to have control over his emotions, so he chose not to force his way to gain control over the body. But he was still wondering how her consciousness became so strong suddenly.
Ashleen: “Whatever.”
Anik froze, ‘I’ll make sure you regret it’ was what Ashleen or the demon through her said to Akansha when he found out that she was trying to find a way to eradicate him without harming Ashleen. It was around the time when all the kingdoms along with higher beings wanted to kill Ashleen to end get the demon out of her and kill this demon itself before he finds another host body. The demon killed Akansha a few days later brutally.
Anik: “What do you mean by that.” There was no reply at all. He tried his best to keep his composure but was soon noticed by Ashleen.
“Hey Gayatri, what are others doing?” Ashleen was trying to find an excuse to get her out of the room. But instead, Gayatri’s eyes turned silver as she spoke, Akansha is enjoying the rain and her partner is staring at her”. Ashleen chuckled “And?”
“And healer aunt is still helping people take care of their wounds downstairs.”
“What about the people of our kingdom?”
“They… kids are taking shower in rain, adults are talking how this is the first rain in last 500 years…”
“First rain in last hundred years??”
“Yea, this place has been under the curse”
“Then why now?”
“The curse was related to the orc leader.”
“Orcs can put a curse?”
"He traded his soul to be able to do that."
“But why?”
“The queen at that time killed orcs to save her people.”
“But I did that too…”
“You left no one capable of an avenge”
“Huh?”
“You even killed the kids”
Gloom took over Ashleen’s face but she quickly recovered.
“So the queen didn’t kill the kids?”
“She killed everybody except the kids; going against what the king said.”
“Where are they now?”
“I don’t know, most probably dead.”
“Most probably?”
“No one saw their dead bodies.”
“WOAHHH… no bodies mean they are alive.”
“Why are you saying so?”
“Haven’t you ever seen a movie or drama?? If you haven’t found a body that means the person is not dead… but wait how long has this been?”
“About 500 years”
“Ohh… they might have died from aging”
“You don’t age here.” Said Anik finally breaking his silence; his voice reminded Ashleen that she was trying to find a way to get Gayatri out of the room.
“Hey Gayatri, wanna take a bath in the rain?”
“No thanks… that’s childish…”
“Ah c’mon you are a kid after all”
“I am not!”
“You are”
“NO!” her eyes turned silver and her aura started spreading as if to scare her.
“See told ya you are a kid, what you are doing is so childish.”
Aura dissipated quickly as she glared at Ashleen.
“Don’t get so cocky, you’ll regret it.”
Another ‘regret it’ Anik’s heart sank completely. Two biggest representatives of chaos have given her warning and yet she…
Ashleen grabbed her legs and pulled her towards herself.
“I’ll regret it?”
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”
“You’ll see soon who’s gonna regret it” Ashleen has always been good with kids, there’s no way she can’t handle her. She was not tall but still, she easily got control over her and started tickling her. Nothing compares to tickling when it comes to kids.
“YOU!” Gayatri couldn’t control her laughter and burst out laughing.
“Stop!”
“Who’s gonna regret it?”
“I said stop!”
“Please? Don’t you know how to talk to elders?”
“I am the older…” she couldn’t even complete her sentence and tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Say please, then I’ll leave you,” she said while giving her time to breathe.
“YOU LITTLE!”
“Huh?” she tickled lightly again.
“Stop… please”
“Now that’s more like a… how old are you?
“10569”
“…” She tickled again
“11! I am 11!”
“That’s more like an 11-year-old she said and let go of her.”
Gayatri quickly got down from the bed and ran away shouting “You’ll regret it”
Anik almost had a heart attack listening to this. Ashleen chuckled and looked at Anik. She quickly activated ‘mayday trust’.
Can Demon know we are talking through this?
I don’t think so…
What’s wrong?
I think this demon might create trouble later.
Why do you think so?
It said you’ll regret it later.
And you believed? She wanted to laugh but after seeing his serious face she asked again… do you know something that I don’t? Don't lie I am telling ya.
Honestly, I don’t think I can tell you.
Why?
…
Okay okay don’t tell me if you don’t want to, I’ll trust you for now.
Anik’s eyes widened; she’ll trust me? But why? In the comic, she trusted no one except Vanshika, not even Akansha. Why would she trust him?
I won’t let you down.
Don’t be so sure, no one knows what the future holds.
She said and deactivated ‘mayday trust’. Supported her back with a headboard and looked outside the window.
“Hey, what do you think where the queen is?”
Anik found out about the queen just after Gayatri mentioned it. There was no mention of the queen in the comic.
“I have no idea.”
“Hmm,” she kept staring out the window for a long time.
“I wanna find her and the king.”
“Huh?”
“I want to bring them back”
“But then they’ll be the new rulers.”
Ashleen’s eyes widened with excitement as she heard this. She looked at Anik and sat cross-legged, facing him.
“Then I’ll give them this place and I’ll go traveling and exploring and have a lot of fun. You don’t need to eat or drink anyways.”
“Your sleeping curse is not completely gone. What if someone killed you while you are sleeping.”
In her mind, Ashleen had planned that she’ll be traveling with Anik but his sudden question made her realize the reality. Why would he go with her?
“Umm… I’ll see what to do about that later,” she said and turned her head back to the window.
Anik looked at her and smiled. He understood what she was thinking instantly when he saw her expression shift. Silly girl, he thought; why would I stay here if you are gone?
