“How many times it went wrong?”
“Twice” “One now and one in my future premonition”
“Is that another skill of yours?”
“Yea,”
Anik was thinking about it, the premonition was also a demon’s skill and she had no access to it. How could she use it?
We both were silent for a while. I caught a glimpse of my face in the mirror on the other side of my bed. My cheek looked swollen.
“WTF- You hit me! Don’t you know it’s illegal to hit a girl?”
“Don’t you know it’s illegal to strangle someone?”
“…”
“But just how many times did you hit? It looks terrible.” Now thinking about it my voice seemed muffled as well.
“And you said I have multiple personality disorder.” He said and smiled.
“YOU!... YOU smiled?? Did you smile? How cool. You… are so handsome, bro. Thank goodness you are alive. You know you died in my previous premonition. Man, it shook the earth below my fee…” shit Ashleen control… I tried to sneak a look at his expression. He was still smiling. Now this was suspicious. What was he smiling for? Anyways he’s not dead so all is well.
Anik felt weird, he was with his teenage crush. He grew a lot watching her. This comic was not a popular one and it was very long, updates were irregular, and irrespective of the story most of the people either dropped it or just forgot if it even existed.
“By the way… shouldn’t you treat your arm?” blood was still tripping down from his arm.
“Yeah, your nails were stronger and sharper than any normal blade.”
“My nails?” I looked at my nails. They looked perfectly normal. I am not the type to grow my nails. These are usually clean and cut.
“Yeah, you looked like a real demon just now.”
Other things aside this wound needs treatment. Loss of blood was too much to turn a blind eye to it
“Heale-“ I felt a pounding sensation in my head and pain in my abdomen before I could even finish calling her. I looked down to look at it to see my clothes soaked red again.
“Your wound reopened.” He said before he called the lady. I dragged myself to the bed hoping I won’t just crash on the ground.
“What the hell were you guys doing here??” said Akansha looking at us.
I didn’t know what to say so I just smiled. Before I could realize I passed out again. Already the third time since I arrived here.

I don’t know after how long I came to my senses but my wound was already feeling better by then. I slowly opened my eyes expecting that kid to be in front of me. Luckily he wasn’t there. I wanted to stretch so bad but of course, I don’t want this shitty wound to reopen. Hey wait a sec this ain’t my room. The ceiling looks different. Fortunately, no kid was being Spider-Man there. I rubbed my eyes and tried to sit up straight.
“Aeeshh! You gave me a heart attack.” That kid was glaring at me from the side of the bed.
“Who are you though?”
“He’s useful.” Said Anik.
“Man, I wasn’t asking if he’s useful or not I just meant who is he.”
Anik forgot for a second that she still was just Ashleen, in the comic she later turns completely into a demon and no longer cares about the people who were not useful or worthy of her time.
“Big bro saved me.” Said the little guy.
“Saved you?” I asked randomly while getting up. Just how long did I sleep? It didn’t hurt a lot while standing up. I looked at Anik standing a few feet from me.
“Yeah, I entered the orc’s area by mistake.”
“…Orc?”
“big bro ran so fast that I even got dizzy.”
“…Orc?”
“Are you glitching or something? Hey stay away from big bro I’ll not spare you if you hurt him again.”
“You…Anik, you went to the orc area?”
“You know about that?”
“Hey, kiddo can you go out?”
“Why should I listen to you?”
“Just get the hell out okay? Don’t test my patience.”
“go out, it’s alright”
“Take care bro this woman is crazy.”
“Close the door behind you”
…
“What’s the matter?”
“You went to orc’s area?”
“I didn’t know it was their area when I was about to come back I heard him shouting for help.”
“And you just became an incarnation of Jesus and went to help him?”
“…What’s wrong with you?”
“…Is there a way to share memories? …It’s suffocating” I felt tired and cold after thinking about it too much. Staying in the past is just not my thing I can’t do that anymore. If I am unable to explain it to him; I’ll just ignore the fact I have future premonition until I need it.
“We can do that. It’s possible between partners. You want my memories?”
… it’s possible?
“No”…” I want to show you mine” Why would Ashleen want to show me her memories. In the comic, she was very wary of every living creature, even the people who were her companions in the early stages. She never showed anyone her premonitions. Her fear of orcs is understandable though. She died so badly in her premonition, like being crushed to death… it feels like she was destined to become a demon since the first scenario.
“give me your hands and focus on the part you want to share.”
“erm.” I was barely holding my tears. This jerk went to die again.
I don’t know long it had been but when I opened my eyes I saw Anik wiping blood from his nose.
What is this? Why was I in her premonition and I was the one who died?? Does that mean that the future might change, right? Maybe I can stop her from becoming a demon after all. But her imagination, I read once that it was tormenting but reading and feeling it personally are completely two different things…
“That… your imagination is overbearing.”
“Imagination?”
“What was the part you wanted to show me?”
“Orc area…”
“You ended up showing everything that happened since your arrival here… and yeah I am not that kind of psychopath. It’s just my face and I think you should think again about who the main lead is” It was hard to believe that she thought he was the psychopath one. Back in the selection zone, I wanted to look strong because the system gives status to the people based on their confidence and calmness. He was just silent and she deduced so much, it’s really hard to believe she ended up turning into a ruthless demon… and he passed out.
“Huh?... healer lady!!”
She came in a minute.
“What are you kids up to? One gets up from the bed as if solely to make space for the other one to pass out.”
“Heh…”
He’s alright. He is showing symptoms similar to yours but don’t worry these are just mild ones. He’ll be up in an hour or so.
“Thanks, mam.”
