The Sweet Death
Seeing through

Seeing through

Present

Akansha was told that the prince is the demon that had been residing in Ashleen's body. Akansha felt a lot at this moment but she did nothing. She had barely any idea of what was going on.

On the other hand, Vanshika was busy explaining everything to everyone in a meeting. She explained what she knew, what had actually happened, and why he was not in the underworld anymore. No one was listening to her as they were all completely bought into the concept of good and evil.

Vanshika sneered, "Why do you guys think you are still alive? This is not a place to play hero, 'your survival is in your hands' if you remember" She said with a mocking expression. She took out a diary from her hands. "Our plan was seen through last night. Why do you think you are not dead?"

Mr. White looked at her and laughed, "You think we'll trust you now? You are her sister, aren't you? Who knows when was this written?"

"You have magicians and sorcerers, ask them to check." Sebastian and Vanshika never released this piece of information that these two were sisters. The reason was the distrust, and that is what was happening.

He snapped her fingers and an old man walked forward. He took the diary in his hands the diary and started chanting in a low voice, soon the scene from last night appeared in front of them through a screen. Ashleen was sitting on the chair scribbling, she stopped "It should be the time" She said and raised her head. She tilted her head to the left and it seemed like she was looking at the sorcerer himself through the screen.

Everyone was confused. "You didn't expect this did you?" Ashleen in the picture smiled beautifully. Her eyes carried a trace of enormous sadness while her smile was proud. Even Vanshika was surprised by this.

Ashleen lowered her head and started saying details on how she concluded everything.

Head sorcerer and plenty of others realized how bad it was. If they were to stand against Ashleen one day, it would be hard to stand strong. Today is the last chance they need to get rid of her. Demon was no longer their priority. He can't get out of this place. He was never even a potential threat but the status system would have provided after the demon's death was their primary reason to join Vanshika.

But Ashleen can move on with time and now her skills were terrifying.

"Don't worry I am not coming back. I am not going to pose a threat to you guys, you see I am pretty lazy, and using my brain is not my thing in the first place." She laughed a little and continued "She's not lying when she says you might have died." As soon as she was done saying this everyone felt a very strong tremor under their feet, several people fell instantly while others thought of this moment as an opportunity to show off their skills by not falling. The tent was sent away flying and a deep crack appeared near them.

"Mr. Demon did this. If you think killing you all was any harder than crushing a few ants under his feet for him, then you are wrong. I believe this much of the evidence is enough for you to give up the fight. Mr. Demon owes me one and I used that to ask him not to kill you people. When you receive this message there is a huge probability that I am dying somewhere... I don't know if he'll keep his promise after I die. Wise people know what to do, other than that, feel free to die I am not going to advocate for you anymore anyways," a dark red aura appeared around her, she smirked as she continued with dark red eyes "I am hardly suppressing myself from killing you in the first place." A wicked smile appeared on her face before vanishing completely along with the aura. "You pieces of trash, grouping up doesn't help when you are utterly weak..." Ashleen smiled brightly again before the picture disappeared and everyone felt a deep scare.

...

Vanshika was back in her sister's room. She looked around the room. Everything was clean and spot on. "Seems like she didn't stay here for too long." She said to herself and continued walking around. If she stayed here continuously for more than three months this place was going to be a wreck. She smiled and opened the letter with a tight heart.

Hmm, I would have had a lot to tell if I was in front of you but see the only thing that's coming to my brain right now is, I don't like the guy with you. No no, I don't approve of him. How do you end up with all the rubbish guys? Tsk tsk.

Vanshika smiled as she remembered hearing those few words every other week back in the normal world.

Anyways, don't take this to your heart, see this as a drama. There was nothing you could have done. I believe there is someone stronger than all of us who planned this throughout. Since you are with the biggest brain here, I want you to take care of these people here. Akansha is a nice girl, she can provide you with all sorts of help if you need any. Healer lady I promise is a hidden gem, take care of her, and about the prince... idk just go with the flow at least he won't kill you, people.

Help me with one thing though, you know a letter without any name, can you give it to Anik when he returns? Oh, My dear sister, your sister's love life ended before starting Sob* Use your time wisely, though I still don't like the guy with you.

Bye Bye.

There were more letters, one named for Akansha, one for the Healer lady, one for Mr. Demon, and one more, safe with Vanshika.

...

Akansha and Mr. Demon had the same passive-aggressive reaction to the letter... Mr. Demon had an actively aggressive reaction though.

Akansha returned the letter to Vanshika when she gave it to her while the demon prince burned it in front of Vanshika. The healer lady took it with a smile and, "Your sister will be fine dear, you don't need to worry."

"Yes, Aunty..."

"You can stay in her room until she returns."

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

"Actually I need to get something done before resting." If Ashleen has made a mistake then, Vanshika is going to use it well.

The last letter, Vanshika took out of her pocket and stared at it. For that tyrant huh? What did you write in it? It is a pretty thick one. How many pages is it? Will he tell me what is going on? You are the nice judge of guys, right? Then the guy 'you' wrote this letter for would be very nice...

...

Ashleen removed her finger from Vanshika's forehead thinking she passed on the Demon prince's memories, without knowing what she did. In the few milliseconds from Vanshika stumbling and falling to opening her eyes a dark red aura formed around Ashleen as the demon helped her disappear from there.

A Few Hours After Sebastian Left The Monument

Three people came running out of the monument. A woman was carrying Ashleen on her back and another guy held the drugged wind master hostage to get out of there. Both of them were roughed up but didn't give up.

Fighting their fear and conscience they finally made it out in a few minutes. After they entered the denser part of the forest surrounding the monument, out of the masters reach, another person appeared beside them, he was pale looking with red lips. Wearing a black cape he looked like some prince.

He was the demon who has been using Ashleen as his host body. He flicked Ashleen's forehead, waking her up violently. She felt a sharp pain in her spine as she got down the stranger's back.

Prince raised his hand and the Wind Master was sent back to the monument. Masters are strong but only as a whole, if this prince was to fight all of them one on one, he can win in the end.

Her eyes were blurry and her ears were softly buzzing.

"...who?"

"Tenant,"

"I am the queen,"

"King maybe"

Ashleen was still in a daze. Demon King, queen, king, so we did what we were supposed to but when...how? Anik was...

"Anik? Where is he?" The back of her head gave a piercing pain as she spoke suddenly.

Demon King disappeared while the other two looked at each other silently.

She stood up, "Where is he??" She looked at the queen.

"He... he is still there..."

"Why didn't you bring him along? You could have if you wanted to." Ashleen was not loud anymore, she didn't look sad either. She just spoke calmly but her calm was deafening.

"His skill backlashed... He was beyond our saving." She said feeling guilty. Bringing one person back was pretty much a burden and risk. If they tried to save Anik too, their chance of getting out safely reduced by 50%.

"Ohh, why did you save me then?" Ashleen raised her head looking at them, she looked calm but her eyes said otherwise.

"You...you helped us..."

"He did too!" She said and smiled. "It's okay though... one shouldn't expect much from others. I'll go back, I am sorry I can't accompany you." The tiny bit of poison she absorbed from Anik under the Wind Master's guidance was acting up again. Wind Master helped her a bit before she was knocked out unconscious again suddenly. His motivations are unclear and Ashleen still isn't sure if he's trustworthy. He had no solutions to treat him instead most probably he was trying to use her as a guinea pig to find the cure for himself. Going back has a 99% chance of failure but that 1% is worth trying. She walked back in the direction they came from. Half limping, holding onto trees to support herself, this tiny bit of poison was so much trouble, working out the entire thing would be hard, but she kept walking until someone appeared in front of her.

It was the Demon Prince. Ashleen had the most disgusted look on her face as she tried to walk past him. She didn't expect a lot from others but he could have certainly done something. He looked at her and held her by the shoulder. She slapped it away and kept walking.

"You can come back later, I need you yet."

"What else do you want?"

"Help me get rid of Vanshika and her partner."

"Why do you think I'll agree?" She said without looking at him.

It's best for him to be there for now and I'll tell you the way to cure him. He said using mayday trust.

"You don't have other choices."

"..."

"You think you'll walk in the monument and they'll welcome you?"

What is wrong? What are you doing? You are the one who knocked me unconscious, right? But how did you go in? I thought King and Queen were trustworthy.

They are.

Then?

It's not that simple. Less the people know about me and the masters working together, the better.

...What does that mean??

Masters and I are fighting together against Gayatri.

I thought she was dead. Didn't you say the one with us is an imposter?

She isn't dead, knowing too much will only harm you He said and turned off the mayday trust.

"..." "She's my sister, I believe you knew that."

"I did, I can promise not to kill her."

"You don't expect me to believe you, do you?"

"Of course not."

Ashleen sat down on the ground and sat there for a while, he was working with the masters. If only she and Anik knew about it this situation wouldn't have occurred. At least he should have warned us, but what if he's lying? Wind master had no cure how can he have one? And is it really safe there? But there is nothing else she can do either. She suddenly picked up a piece of wood and threw it at the prince's face. He didn't dodge and let it hit him and dark blue blood started flowing down his forehead. Ashleen wobbled and fell unconscious on the ground again. Her lips were turning slightly blue.

"Carry her." Said the prince while wiping the blood. His injury healed instantly.

Prince took a deep breath calming himself down and a dark red aura surrounded the four of them. Soon they were on the ground floor of the palace. Akansha was passing by when she saw the aura. She got all excited and hopped towards it. Both of them will be back, king and queen would also be here!

Her excitement wore off when she saw Ashleen. There were indeed new people and the queen and king were recognizable. Anik was not there and there was someone new. The new guy looked eerily familiar.

"What happened?!" She exclaimed running towards her. Ashleen opened her eyes slightly and looked at the person in front. She suddenly felt sad but without any words, she smiled shallowly.

"What happened to you?"

"I got into trouble, oh, by the way, these two are the new king queen. I'll leave the introductory part to you. And you get an announcement done regarding their return? I'll sleep for a while." She said and got down his back. Akansha quickly went to support her. Ashleen looked visibly sick. She was half the weight than when she left and her eyes were shallow. She had scars all over her body. Something terrible happened.

"Where are others?"

"Gayatri went back to her home and Anik... he got caught up with something. He'll be back soon."

"...Okay." Akansha knew she was lying, her skills were telling her she was lying but she didn't ask any further questions. Three guests were left there unattended as these two walked towards Ashleen's room.

Ashleen looked at Anik's room and walked into her own.

"You wait I'll call the healer lady."

"No need, don't send her here. You too, take care of the guests. I need some alone time. Don't let anyone come near my room."

Akansha wanted to refuse but looking at her, she didn't know what else to do.

"Call me if you need something," Said Akansha settling the covers over her. She looked at her and walked out of the room.

Ashleen laid down, she felt nothing. It was silent, just silent and cold. There was no warmth in the bed there was no warmth in her heart. The chandelier was still the same but it didn't look good anymore. She fell asleep soon. Near midnight she got up gasping for air. She looked around and a tear rolled down her left eye. She wiped it and got down from her bed. Her body was feeling better but she didn't feel better.

The demon prince entered her room an hour ago, she was aware but had no will to react to it.

He sat beside her and poured his demonic mana into her. Ashleen had a vague idea why he did that. This prince can't let others know he is out, at least not until Sebastian and Vanshika are out of the way. If suddenly there was no more demonic aura coming from Ashleen it would create suspicion. Along with the mana entered a lot of information. The demon has already given her a way to save Anik.

For now, Ashleen can't let out any of this information yet. Prince was hiding things from the king and queen. If this has too much of a risk factor then it is better to stay silent. She can cure Anik so it is better not to cause trouble for others.
