Skills

It means I need to figure out my skills and try to complete this scenario… I can’t just try I need to complete this scenario to survive. But aren’t I way too calm? To think about it there is a battle going on for my life. Who knows? I shrugged and looked at my skills window.

Imagination. Future premonition.. Close combat… Unlimited mana…. Is it that energy like mana… Hella cool I am super strong. But what the hell are these imagination and premonition? Seeing the future I guess, but I wasn’t able to see the incoming arrow a minute ago so can I see the result?? I tried to focus but nothing happened. And what worries me, for now, is my weakness bar. 18 hours of sleep per day?? Someone might as well kill me in my deep sleep. Where is Anik though? He still hasn’t arrived? In my heart, I had a bit of hope that he might come and just end it. After all, he gave the main lead vibes.

“Where is the guy I was paired with?”

“I don’t know he still hasn’t arrived.”

If I can’t use my future-seeing skill then imagination… how am I supposed to use it? Focus? Getting the enemy unable to make a move would be nice of a strategy I'd say.

My thoughts were interrupted by sudden screams and shrieks. The enemy troop was in the air. and my side was attacking with everything they got. An arrow shot by that girl pierced the thigh of an old-looking uncle who seemed to be the leader. That guy’s face distorted with the pain.

“HEYYYYY! Guys, why are we attacking? All we gotta do is survive and none of us died, see, look around yourself.”

There were no deaths on our side and… a sudden pain in my left shoulder made me go blank for a while. It was an arrow, and the head guy was the one who shot it. When I came back to it, the fight started again, so fiercely at it. The enemy troop was back on the ground and they were attacking heartlessly. I tried to grasp the situation hoping there were no deaths, while putting pressure on my shoulder with my right hand. I saw the head guy looking suspicious. The head-looking guy was looking here and there as if searching for something. His eyes locked on a spot. It was where that girl was standing, the one who shot at him. And the head seemed perfectly fine. Their group must have a healer. A guy came running to me at the same time.

“I am on your team, I am a healer. Let me…”

“No stay away.” No matter where I was trusting people this closely was always hard. I thought it would be different here but this place has proven me wrong twice already. Firstly that brain-reading guy then these guys continued attacking when they should have nobly accepted their defeat… Accepted defeat? Ashleen what were you even thinking about although the place has changed but how can I expect people to become good? It was the part they were hiding that appeared here. It can be more cruel than I can ever imagine. Imagine… imagine it is. I felt myself losing my mind. I don’t know if it was because of blood loss or anger but… Imagine, right? My brain started running rampant, completely out of rational control.

I looked for the head person again. His sword was about to slice that girl's neck away. But before it could even reach its expected target, his arms started twisting. He screamed with the pain. It felt so good to listen, like a drug. I wanted more of it. the more I looked at him the more his arms twisted. The supposed healer who wanted to ‘heal me’ screamed with fear and ran towards the head guy. I caught a glimpse of myself in the broken window of a nearby building. My blue dress was stained red with my blood and my pupils turned black with blood flowing from them as well. Ha! Imagine you say right.

“You wanted to heal me huh? Why are you running to him then? Weren’t you on my side?”

He gritted his teeth listening to me. His expression made it clear what he wanted to heal… next moment his head went flying in the air. I felt dizzy but there is no way I’ll let any of them survive. I looked at the leader again. Even before I had a chance to think I felt something piercing my abdomen. The head guy smirked slyly. He was the only one standing upright even after having his arm twisted. Everyone else was shivering with fear sitting on the ground, including the people on my side. I looked back to look for the person who did this, to find a familiar face. “You…why?” It was the girl I was trying to save. An arrow came from nowhere pierced her heart and she died on the spot. It was the system that killed her. The warning sign was still flickering on her head. She died?? But why? She didn’t deserve it. Looking at myself in the mirror I knew I looked like a demon. I even acted as a demon. It was natural for her to do this. I don’t know what was going on. I had no intention to know either. My legs went numb and I sat down with a thump. Only if there was someone to explain… What if Anik was here? Could this have turned out any different?

All the pain started acting all of a sudden and my vision started blurring. I tried to grasp the situation as much as possible. My team lost a member but the rest were all intact. The enemy team was wounded and they had no healer anymore. Healer… what happened to him? The bloody aura from my eyes was fading away and I felt to be coming back to my senses and losing my consciousness at the same pace. It won’t be a problem to save me anymore though. People on my side are now enough to complete the scenario.

But something seemed off, no one was trying to save me. They were not even in their right minds anymore. All of them were still sitting on the ground, staring at me and the dead girl with blank eyes. The enemy troop was already getting themselves together. It is clear from their reaction that they are not new here. If I had even a little bit of energy left I would have already run away. I tried getting up, all in vain. With the last left ounce of energy, I turned around to look at the head guy and then I finally went blank.

The moment I opened my eyes, I was on someone’s back. And that someone was running so unstably that all the wounds on my body were hurting like hell.

“Slow down a bit,” I said subconsciously.

“Miss you better look behind before saying something.”

There was no need to look. I heard that head guy shouting at Anik to stop.

“Hey don’t try to do something stupid and don’t use your imagination skill until you can control it well.”

“Hmm…” I wasn’t going to use it anyway… I killed someone… and that girl died too because of me… tears started rolling down my cheeks as I thought about it. I don’t know what occurred to me and how I ended up being so brutal… When I tried to lift my arm to wipe my tears I felt a sharp pain in my arm it made me feel nauseous and I felt my consciousness trembling.

“Don’t move. We haven’t found the healer yet.”

“Ermm”

“…are you okay?”

“Pfft…Ouch!” “You worrying about me… everything is too fast-paced to understand…” I wanted to laugh like always but I realized today that you need energy even to speak leave alone laughing. Oh wait I had unlimited mana; is there a way to activate it? I was thinking about it when a cloud started forming around me. It had fluctuating colors. It turned blue then red then blue again then blood red then soothing blue again… I felt like my energy coming back. But the moment of joy was too small to enjoy, soon I felt all the energy draining out again.

“You had any mana left to transfer?” And Anik seemed to running at double the speed from earlier and he was more stable as well. It made the enemy troop panic but it was too late for them to react anymore. We were already out of their sight.

“Transfer?”

“You just transferred mana to me… you are hopeless.” He said while putting me down on the ground with my back supported by the wall. He stood up and looked at me. His green suit now was red in places.

"What am I supposed to do with you?"
