Luna POV:
Mia and I were both out of breath as we were finally inside the Balathien Kingdom also known as the Human Kingdom that Evan went to. We both had run all the way here because it’s quite far away and we don’t have any mounts. It was a long and harsh journey where were also attacked a couple of times by slimes but they were nothing against Mia’s swordsmanship and my Ice magic.
Regardless, we were both exhausted, Mia collapsed on the hard ground as she tried to catch her breath while I took support on the wall of a random house.
“S-Sis.” Mia said in between her panting, “We really didn’t have to run all the way here.”
“The sooner,” I tried to talk, but I was too exhausted for it as well, “We come here, the better.”
We both stayed there, ignoring the eyes of passers-by as we did our best to relax.
“We,” I struggled to talk through the burning sensation in my throat, “We, need to go to the adventurer’s guild, after a little rest. Evan said, his second home. It is.”
I somewhat made coherent sentences but Mia nodded so at the very least she understood me.
I’m coming for you Evan, just you wait, I’ll catch you and that nympho together.
*Evan POV*
Well, this book about the legendary heroes was a waste of time. It’s just a fairy tail about a 4 heroes hanging around until they kill a dragon and then some stuff happens and it finished.
Good thing I just skimmed through it and did not waste hours reading this novel.
I’m guessing that I’ll find more stuff up on the next floor, but everyone is going to meet me in a couple of minutes so I’d rather use my time wisely and read any and all books on this floor. I stood up from the chair I was sitting on and started opening any and all books I saw.
I only opened a couple of books last time I came here but it was going to be different this time.
…is what I thought, but I only opened a couple of books before Lucy and Oswald walked in, the books I opened didn’t even gave me any skills either, they were just regular books.
“Shishou!” Said both of them in unison.
I closed the book in my hand and placed it back into the bookshelf before turning towards them. “You’re here, I’m guessing you two are ready?”
They both nodded excitedly and I was gonna walk outside with them, but suddenly, Ruby barged into the library, she was panting for breath as if she just ran a marathon, “Evan!”
Oh god, she’s hot.
“Woah, what’s wrong?”
She raised a finger, signifying to wait a minute as she catches her breath, moments later, she stands straight and faces me. “The health potions you talked about. I’m buying them.”
Oh, hell yea! She actually delivered! Now I won’t be money hungry for quite a while.
She ended up giving me a small bag of 15 gold coins. Which I put in my inventory, It was kind of hard to take out 30 health potions right then and there without any explanation, so I just told her that I’ll give the potions to Liza when she’ll check my house later. Ruby happily agreed but wrote the transactions down on a piece of paper which she took out of nowhere. There was no need for it since I wasn’t going to commit any kind of fraud but I gotta commend her carefulness at the very least.
Eliza put the signed paper in between her cleavage and continued “Also, this is a message from her highness herself, please wait here for a few more minutes. She’s preparing to come here as we speak.”
Honestly, I wasn’t listening, too busy staring at her breasts but I heard something about waiting for the Queen so I nodded in the end.
“Well, we can wait here for a while, can’t we?” I looked over to Lucy and Oswald and they both nodded without hesitation.
Ruby suddenly did something that made me jump, She quickly held my hand forcibly with both of her hands. “Thank you so much, Evan! You’re really the best.”
Oh no she’s making me act stupid again.
“We’ll I’ve always been known for being awesome! Haha.” While Ruby and I were having a moment, someone cleared their throat loudly as if trying to bring attention to themselves.
Everyone looked over to the person making the noise and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was Luna and Mia! My first thoughts were ‘What the hell are they doing here?’ followed by noticing the dangerous aura Luna was emitting.
Why do I feel like I’m in danger?
*Luna POV*
Mia and I quickly ran into the Library where Liza said Evan was.
I’m almost there!
I was really angry at Evan before for just leaving me to talk to a random girl I know nothing about. But the moment I realized I was going to see him, my heart felt light. The frustration from before was gone. And I was really glad to see Evan again.
We both saw an old lady at the counter inside the Library, when we asked her about Evan’s whereabouts, she pointed in a direction and we immediately ran there. I say that, but I’m the one pulling Mia’s hand so she doesn’t fall behind.
But then.
Just then.
I see Evan surrounded by two girls.
{Author Note: Poor Oswald, she didn’t even notice him.}
One of them was Lucy who I met before, the other was the Guild master whom we only saw for a brief second. She’s one of the few other people who, not only helped but probably saved Evan from a lot of trouble as well. My happy mood became salty again by seeing Evan surrounded by girls, but I believe they aren’t… A threat.
Mia quickly tried to calm me down, I guess she was worried by seeing my foul mood, “S-Sis, w-wait, please calm down! If you do something bad here it will only hurt brother more!”
I couldn’t help but sigh, “It’s alright, they’re just allies, people I can trust for now. I only need to make sure Evan doesn’t get more allies like Tania or even I might’ve snapped.”
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
“Thank god.” Mia said as she was relieved, looks like she was worried that I might’ve made another scenem but it was alright. I’m still a princess, I’ve learned etiquette from my childhood, there’s no way I would’ve snapped.
And then it happened.
I was going to join their conversation, but I saw the Guild master go smile like a maiden in love as she grabbed Evan’s hands and started jumping around like she just got proposed by the man she loves. Evan didn’t look better either, he was smiling like pervert thinking of something dirty.
I said I wouldn’t snap.
I really said that.
But.
There’s no way I wouldn’t snap after seeing that.
*Evan POV*
Why do I hear boss music?
“Would you like to explain yourself, Evan?” Luna’s face was calm but her words carried storms, I got chills just listening to her voice it was as if I’m a cornered thief and the entire S.W.A.T is in front of me. And it wasn’t just me, seems like everyone else near me was also feeling the same thing.
Wait… I didn’t do anything to be guilty about it, so why do I feel scared? Pain-Immunity nullifies any discomforting feelings I feel, which Includes fear itself, but it always gives a heads up, telling me if it’s nullifying anything such as the fear I’m feeling right now.
…I have a theory that Luna may possess the Intimidation skill that I also have.
“Huh? Wait. hold on, what are you doing here in the first place?” I did my best to speak coherent words but my thoughts were all over the place. Why is she here? Why is she mad? Why is demanding answers from me as if I’m a villain?
“I’m really sorry for disturbing you, brother!” Mia peeked from behind Luna, “But sis was really worried about you! She was worried you got tangled with people like Tania!”
Mia, you absolute angel. Thank you for saving my life, I now know exactly what I must do now to not only calm Luna but make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.
“Sorry, I guess I owe you two an explanation for everything right?” I shrugged my shoulders and finally decided to explain everything that had happened.
I honestly didn’t want to because of two reasons, one being that I was only going out for a short period of time, and two, If I did tell them why I was going and where, they’d wanna come with me as well and there’s a chance that they’d get involved in something bad, like captured while I wasn’t looking so my enemies, aka the cultists, would get leverage on me. But it seems like Luna was also thinking of something similar like that, so I had no choice but to explain everything.
I told her everything that happened, my meeting with Ruby, Daisy, Lucy, and Oswald. Along with all the groceries that I got for everyone. Luna was pissed off at first, but the more I explained the more she calmed down.
“So, you didn’t come out here to meet a girl secretly?”
You know, your mother was saying the same thing. And I’m pretty sure I know what it means, but this isn’t some secret code word that Silver daemons use or something is it?
I asked her what it really meant and she stared at me for a moment until she sighed, “That’s right I forgot that you had amnesia.”
I tilted my head in confusion until she said something I never would have imagined no matter how smart I was.
“It means… to elope.”
…
I stared at her but Luna started acting bashful and looking away, her pale cheeks started becoming red as if she was filled with shame. It wasn’t just her, Mia behind her also started blushing. I looked over to Lucy and Oswald so that may they may help me in figuring out what the hell is going on but Lucy and Oswald just sat down with Ruby who was exhausted.
Oswald noticed me, “Ah, Shishou, we’ll stay here so you can talk with your family without reserve.”
So, you guys decided to run away and leave me alone huh?… Bitch.
Luna looked like she didn’t want to continue so I did in her place, “First of all, I’m really sorry for making you think that… and second of all, why do you two look so embarrassed?”
Luna made a face that asked why I even had the audacity to ask about it, “B-Because that’s just wrong you know!”
That didn’t really explain much but Mia, once again, came to my rescue, “Brother, you might not realize it right now but… secretly meeting a girl or a boy is a very shameful thing to do.” Luna nodded fiercely.
Luna held her hands in front of her angrily, “Turning your back on your family who do everything for you to just meet someone behind their back for… for… for!” Oh? She’s having trouble saying it, “… For l-lust is just shameful!”
…huh?
I’m not even gonna begin to tackle what’s right or wrong in that sentence, but they were both looking really uncomfortable so I’m just gonna stop right here. I’ll just guess that this is a Silver daemon thingy and move on with it. “Gotcha, I’ll make sure you guys won’t have to worry about me from here on out.”
They were both blushing but they still nodded happily, I looked over to Lucy and the others and all three of them were looking at us. These bastards were really having fun watching us, weren’t they?
Anyway, we didn’t really have to wait that much when a Guard came in here minutes later to tell us that the Queen had arrived.
“Evan, her highness is waiting for you outside.” There was something familiar about that voice like I’ve heard it somewhere before.
I turned to look at the guard who had his face hidden by the Silver armor helmet, “…I know that voice.”
The guard nodded and slowly removed his helmet revealing a dashing and handsome of someone I very well knew of.
“TRISH!” I screamed out happily with my hands spread out like I was about to give him a hug while he smiled.
“It’s been a while, Evan-” Before he said anything else, I jumped towards him and gave him a big hug.
No homo though.
“H-Hey! What the hell are you doing!” He tried pushing me away but I ain’t letting go, there’s no way I’m letting you go! You are one of my only guy friends my age and isn’t related to me! Lark doesn’t count since he’s much older than me and Oswald’s my student, I’m almost always surrounded by girls too! I want some bromance too you know!
… hey aren’t I living the dream though? Surrounded by girls? Too bad none of them like me as a guy.
He was really struggling to push me away so I let go of him, “Awww, someone no like huggy wuggy?”
“Seriously! I really can’t understand you sometimes!” Despite his anger, he wasn’t lashing out like before, I doubt his hatred for other races will go away overnight, but not attacking or yelling at me on sight is definitely a good step … Which reminds me.
“Didn’t you get on a 3-day holiday or something? Why are you working again?” He looked annoyed and everyone beside me was confused but he explained himself.
Apparently, this is all volunteer work on his part, and also a way for him to redeem himself even if it’s a little.
“Welp, I guess it’s time to stop doodadeling and start working! Everyone! With Trish!” Trish put his helmet back on as he guided as to her majesty.
We went outside and there was a large carriage in front of us, the carriage was high profile, colored, and decorated nicely as if it was made for Kings, well in this case, for a Queen. It was pulled by four white horses and surrounded by guards on horses who did their best to push the common folk away. The carriage looked big enough that about 6 to 8 people could sit in it comfortably so I didn’t have to worry about it getting cramped in there.
Trish opened the door to the carriage and motioned us to get in. Surprisingly, Ruby was also following us, seems like she a good friend of Daisy. Once we got in, I saw Daisy sitting there with etiquette, despite how much of a brat she looked like, she sure knows how to act like a royalty.
“It’s nice to meet you Evan, and his friends as well.” There were two long seats in the carriage, one next to the front side of the carriage and one on the back, Daisy was sitting on the back one and Trish and Ruby immediately sat next to her, almost as if they’re both protecting her. I don’t know if they heard anything about what I did to her earlier but let’s make sure not to mention about it.
“I thought you’d come with some old advisors as well or something?” I asked since I remembered her talking about asking for advice from her advisors or something before.
“As much as I want to bring them with me, Trust amongst people is low right now due to the Cultists attack, I’ve only decided to bring the most trustworthy people with me on this journey.” She pointed at the people sitting beside her.
I nodded and in the end Luna, Mia and Oswald sat at the front seat with me and Lucy sat next to Ruby. I told them where my house was so the rest of the journey was quite uneventful. I talked a bit about Elizabeth the Elven Queen, obviously I left out the part about her and Tifa but I made an excuse about her feeling down and some stuff similar, it didn’t take long but we finally arrived back at my house.
“Evan, you’re… living extravagantly?” Daisy said as she looked at my mansion.
“Welcome to my house. It’s not registered yet but I don’t know much about house registration.” Ruby started whispering in Daisy’s ear, probably telling her about the house registration stuff I talked to her about before.
I told daisy to leave all the Guards outside because otherwise they’d just dirty the floor inside which Mia would have to clean up again. After a little bit of a debate, it was decided that only Trish and Ruby would go with Daisy.
“Remember Daisy, you’re on your own after you meet the Elven Queen, I can help you a bit from the sidelines, but I’m neutral in your confrontation to unite the races.”
I looked over at Daisy and she seemed tense, she nodded but if you’d look carefully, you could tell that she was nervous.
“Well, this is your first battle to unite the races, let’s see if you have the power to hold our ideals.” After finishing what I wanted to say, I opened the doors to her first battle.
The battle of words.
