“SHIT!” I screamed out as the Eye of Cthulhu that was showing its sharp, teeth like rib cage, hit me whilst I was falling down the tree.

The knockback was insane as I flew back like a tumbleweed... Only I was heavier and faster. I bashed into a tree and a wheeze escaped my mouth before I fell down on the ground, because of the Pain Immunity skill I didn't feel any pain, but my body definitely did.

Damn, Gotta hand it to this tree, it didn't break down from my impact.

I stood up unsteadily only to see the same bloody and beaten down eye speeding towards me. wrecking the hell out of the leftover wooden platforms with it. It was like watching a large truck descending down towards you, wrecking everything in it’s path.

“Oh boy.” I said as I quickly took out the zombie arm and held it up in front of me before activating ‘Parry'. The eye’s bones hit my zombie arm and I couldn't stop the momentum before I was shot back and hit the same tree again... Only this time it shattered and I flew right through it.

I quickly stood up as I knew the eye was not going to stop its unending barrage of charges. At this rate I won’t even be able to attack him, and I'll only receive damage.

What do I do? I thought to myself.

“EVAN!” Tifa screamed out. I didn’t even know she was nearby. I turned around to see her running towards to me.

Honestly, I was genuinely surprised to see Tifa coming, so I quickly screamed out, “WAIT! DONT COME HERE, ITS TOO DANGEROUS!!!”

She didn't listen to me and threw a grenade onto the eye that was charging back at me.

The tiny grenade went through the open bones and inside the eyes tiny open mouth. I rolled out of the eye’s charge, and heard a large explosion from inside it as blood splattered out of it’s open maw.

Just as I got a bit happy, a giant mass charged at me from within the smoke.

“OOF” all the air escaped from my lungs as I was launched back again.

I hit another tree and this time its base got cracked and the whole tree fell down on me. Luckily, I quickly moved out of the way. I got up and coughed out some blood.

“Damn!” I said in between my coughs, “This is gonna be a real pain in the...... wait a minute.”

“EVAN! Are you okay!?” Tifa came up beside me, really worried. But I was too focused on an idea that popped into my mind.

“THATS IT!” Tifa was surprised by my sudden shout.

“What?” Tifa said confused as we both started running to avoid the eye’s constant charges.

“Alright, Tifa,” I said while we were running, “I'm gonna be quick about this. try to get the other Giant eye over here. I have a plan.”

She looked a bit surprised by what i said, but then looked towards the giant eye in the distance, who was currently having an intense battle with the elves, before she looked back at me and nodded.

She ran towards the elves quite easily, considering this beaten down eye was only interested in me. Alright, now I gotta avoid this bad boys’ charges. I thought to myself as I was hit again by another one of its charges and flew back from the knockback.

Before I landed down on the ground, I grappled onto a tree, I missed my shot and the grappling hook latched onto to the peak of the tree which was still fine. I looked down at the eye that stopped for a second. I clapped my hands to get its attention, “Alright you Lil puppy, let’s see how bad can you really be.”

It charged at me and I kept running from tree to tree like how Tifa and Sarah used to. It's a great thing that I have this grappling hook and its the only reason I can still avoid this giant mouth eye.

I kept running from the eye, with some quite close calls along the way, until I saw Tifa running at me with the other slow-moving giant eye which also had its teeth like bones sticking out.

Perfect.

This fast boy was still behind me trying to catch up and I had to execute my plan right then and there.

“TIFA! GET TO COVER!!!” I screamed out. I saw her nodding in the distance before heading off. I shot the slower moving eye a bunch of times with my shotguns so it would pay attention towards me.

Okay, let's see if this works. I jumped forward from the tree peak, I need to be high up for this to work

The slow-moving eye screamed out before it charged towards me. Behind me was the fast-moving eye that was also charging at me.

I hope to God this works.

I quickly grappled to the ground in the nick of time, before looking up at the two eyes who couldn’t turn away fast enough and collided with each other, the fast-moving eye was destroyed to smithereens and its blood and flesh flew everywhere. There was so much blood that, even I, who was on the ground, was almost completely doused in its blood.

A text came in my bottom left vision saying that the eye of Cthulhu had been defeated. I also saw a small goodie bag with the picture of the Eye of Cthulhu fall and land into my inventory.

“YEEESSSSSS!!!” I screamed out to myself, I was so happy for real physics to be working and not the game physics where they would phase into or out of each other.

Now to take care of the other one with the help of the Elves. Fortunately, its health was only at 12% and wouldn’t be that much of a problem with the other eye being dead.

Alright, let's do This!

I shoot it a few times before heading in range for the elven archers to finish the job.

“HEY QUEEN!!! GET YOUR ARCHERS READY!!!” I said that with intimidation activated in hopes that the intimidation would help me in making her hear my words.

Thankfully, it looks like she did hear me as all the Archers looked wired, and sprung, with their bow and arrows in hand.

I was patient this time, I didn’t want another eye that would charge at me at the speed of sound with no breaks, so I kept chipping away its health until it hit the 10% mark. As soon as It looked like it had 10% hp left, I screamed out.

“DO IIITTTT!!!!”

A huge volley of Arrows was shot and I grappled to safety, don’t wanna get hit in the crossfire. The Eye was not so fortunate as almost 50 or more Arrows landed straight onto it.

This time I didn't give it a chance and switched my guns to my bow, I then shot some fire arrows at it in the case that it survives, it would hopefully burn to death.

Fortunately, it was not needed for it got punked!

I'll spare all the gore and flesh falling out but I will say that if I wasn’t completely covered in blood and flesh before, then I sure as hell am now.

Another text saying the eye of Cthulhu had been defeated appeared in my vision before another goodie bag fell out of him. I went up close and the goodie bag got placed into my inventory.

I combed my bloodied hair back with my bloodied hand, I heard Cheers from the Elven army as they had already started celebrating.

“All in a day’s work.” I told myself as I stood there in a bloody mess.

This actually would have been really easy if that other eye didn't come.

“Evan!” I was hugged from my behind by Tifa and my mind instantly went to the naughty side.

Holy Cow! I have never been hugged like this by a girl before!

“I’m really glad that everything was fine in the end!” She said as she slowly let go of me. I looked at her and most of the blood on me got onto her shirt and face. She looked embarrassed before she wiped some blood off her face.

I looked at her and subtly pointed at the aftermath of the battle. There were trees broken everywhere, blood everywhere. I think some of the elven soldiers took losses as well.

“Seriously? Have you looked around yet?” I said jokingly.

She chuckled at my words. “Well, we expected way more losses, but with you here I think that number went down by 90%”

“That much?” I said with much doubt. She nodded and I shrugged my arms. “Well, what can you do in the end. let’s go and report to the queen.”

Tifa nodded and started following me.

I followed the elven troops who were also heading back. I looked back at the destruction and all the platforms and preparation I had made was completely destroyed, all the trees were destroyed from different heights, It’s as if a large tornado struck down there and completely obliterated everything before moving on.

I ignored the destruction and followed the troops, After about a minute we reached the Elven Village I saw that they had also taken a lot of beating. Most of the houses were destroyed, there were some soldiers helping others who were in bad shapes, I saw some civilians also out and about, trying to help the fallen as much as they could. The huge tree in the middle of the village had a huge hole in it and some of the other tree houses were also destroyed.

The elven army stopped marching and turned around before saluting me. I then saw the queen come out to greet me from behind the soldiers. She looked beaten and was very unsteady.

Oh, I didn't notice, but Sarah was also behind the queen and there was a little girl behind her that kind of looked like Luna, wait, isn’t she another one from the silver daemon tribe? I thought everyone was killed?

Tifa looked at them and waved at me before she ran up to them and stood beside the queen. The queen nodded happily before saying.

“Reid of the Silver Daemons Tribe. On Behalf of all the Elves I, Queen Elizabeth, thank for your selfless act of Saving us from a complete Wipeout.” The queen said loudly as all the soldiers cheered loudly.

So, the queen's name is Elizabeth huh?

Just then, they all Bowed down to me, even the queen. Well the Silver daemon didn’t but it didn’t really matter since I froze up. What else am I supposed to do? There are like 100 people bowing down to me.

I NEVER HAD ANYONE BOW DOWN TO ME BEFORE! THIS IS HOW YOU GET STAGE FRIGHT!

After a second, they stood up.

“As you can see, we can’t really reward you with our situation, but please accept our gratitude.” Queen Elizabeth said with a bittersweet smile. I guess she forgot about how she tried to kill me about an hour ago. But still.

I fumbled with my words a little bit, “Oh, Um, Yea. The pleasure's all mine.”

I was still scratching my head to what I should do now but the little Silver daemon girl started walking up to me. “Reid? Is that really you?” She asked me from afar as I started having a sense of déjà vu.

Okay, now how do I avoid this?

“It really is you!” She started crying and started running towards me.

Why is it that I always get stuck in these hard places?

She came to me and I got on my knees so she could hug me and not my crotch. She hugged me and started crying a lot.

“It really is you!” She repeated as she sobbed into my shoulder.

“Yea, Umm.” I’m still thinking about how I should do this.

She suddenly let go as if she remembered something “Oh Yes! Luna! Is Luna safe!?”

“Umm, yea. She's perfectly fine and at a safe place.” I said as I thought that maybe I shouldn’t tell her that I’m not Reid. That reminds me, didn’t I actually come here to search for Luna’s parents?

“Really!? Thank goodness” She seems to be relieved as she started wiping her tears.

..... If I don't say it now I’ll receive tons of problems later. I thought to myself as I started feeling guilty. She’s looking for Reid, I’m not Reid, I just have his body. I don’t know what the right move here is, but I know that giving her a false sense of hope is not a good idea.

“Um, actually, things did happen.” I kept thinking how I should break the news to her as I was slowly feeling even more guilty. I looked behind her and most of the elven soldiers scattered around, trying to help their fallen brethren, Only the queen, Tifa and Sarah was waiting for me.

“huh?” She looked at me confused.

“I have Amnesia now and the guy you’re looking for is dead, I'm just taking his body.” No way in hell I'm saying that.

“Umm, so, some things happened, and I, umm, I got amnesia now.” I tried my hardest but for some reason it’s always tough breaking the news to someone who’s already crying, especially a child. “So, I have no clue who you are.”

She seems taken back by my comment. But she did not lose hope. She looked like she was about to cry, but she shook her head and wiped her tears away.

“Don’t worry.” She said with a small smile. “I've heard that you can recover from amnesia if you give it enough time. So, after some time you’ll remember everything again!”

She smiled at me, and I was taken back by how strong she is compared to a certain someone who I had to let go back at the Adventurer guild.

“Well, let’s hope so?” I said to the girl who was giving me a reassuring smile.

She nodded and smiled again “Then let's meet one more time.” She said. “I'm Mia, Princess Luna’s Maid, caretaker, and a great friend. Also, you’re my childhood Friend.”

She knew me from birth? Damn, if I acted suspiciously, I was gonna be found out immediately. Good thing I told her about it rather than keeping the news to myself.

“Okay then.” I nodded “I'm Evan until I get my memories back.”

She chuckled a bit “Alright Evan! Let's get along like we used too.” She said before she hugged me again.

I nodded.

Ugh, now it’s getting harder and harder to leave this world. Heck, can I even do that?
