Chapter 7: Mary Accepts Her Mate

Chapter 7: Mary Accepts Her Mate

{Mary}

"Okay I need to sit down again," I said.

Yeah I know, Danger thought, This old lady's even got me in shock! And I'm hardly ever shocked by anything!

"I heard that!" Grandma Sorceress said after I sat down.

I raised an eyebrow. "Heard what?"

"I heard your wolf speaking to you and while it is true that I am an old lady I'm not offended by it," Grandma Sorceress said. "Honestly, I view that as a complement!"

Danger snorted. Well at least she's not offended. Most old people would be snapping at you going 'show so respect young lady! How dare you insult me!' At least she's not tying you to a tree just to beat the shit of you to make an example of you like your mother did!

Grandma Sorceress paused. "Wait… Your mother tied you to a tree just so she could beat the shit out of you? Did I hear your wolf correctly on that?"

I looked away and nodded. "Yes you heard her correctly…"

"What?!" Tyler gasped.

Grandma Sorceress put up a hand to silence him. "My dear child, what did you do to warrant such a punishment?"

"Um, I called her an evil old bastard hag," I replied. "But that was right after she called me her bastard child. I guess she didn't expect me to talk back to her. Honestly I was tired of being called that so I snapped. So I talked back to her and then got tied to a tree just so she could beat the shit out of me."

I looked back at Grandma Sorceress and practically shrank back in fear because of how angry she looked. Her eyes were pretty much popping out of her head. "That woman! How dare she harm someone as powerful as you! I have half a mind to go to that coven and kill her where she stands!"

"Whoa, whoa!" I said, "I know my mom is evil and all but I don't think that warrants the death penalty!"

She took a deep breath and let it out. "You're right you know what? I think she calls you her bastard child because she's jealous."

I tilted my head. "Jealous? Why would she be jealous of me? She's the High Priestess of the IronClad Coven for crying out loud!"

Grandma Sorceress shook her head and looked at me in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? A Gate Wielder along with a Double Knighted Wolf have enough power to take on two werewolf packs and the IronClad Coven! Normally a Gate Wielder and a Knighted Wolf let alone Double Knighted Wolf are two separate entities. You are a two in one deal!

"Now that I think about it, your mother did come to me to help control her powers two months before you were born. She thought her powers were out of control when the thing that was making her more powerful was you."

My jaw dropped so after hearing this I could taste the ground so to speak. I looked over at Tyler and he seemed to be just as shocked as I was.

She chuckled, "Let me take a picture of this, you two should see what your faces look like!"

She flicked her wand and a bright flash of light happened and another mirror appeared out of thin air and an image of what Tyler and I looked like and I started laughing when I saw the picture. "Yeah okay I get it, that's a nice little joke you just told me. Anyway, so how did mom deal with her pregnancy since I was the one causing her powers to go nuts?"

She shrugged. "Honestly, I have no idea what she did and I don't care. What matters to me is that you're still alive and you're standing right in front of me. I do wonder though, what is your wolf's name?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" I asked.

Grandma Sorceress nodded. "Yup!"

"Her name is Danger," I said.

Grandma Sorceress smiled. "Well that's an interesting name for a wolf. However did you come up with it?"

I shook my head. "I have no idea."

Grandma Sorceress nodded and looked over at Tyler and said, "Um Alpha Tyler you might want to breathe or you're going to pass out."

Tyler let out a breath. "I'm sorry I'm just in shock about what I just heard." He looked over and smiled at me. "And your wolf's name is beautiful!"

She nodded. "Yes indeed it is. Now Mary, there is so much more that I want and need to tell you. But this information alone is going to take a bit to digest. So I'm giving you two months to deal with it and then you'll come back to me to start your training, do you understand?"

I nodded. "Yes ma'am!"

"Oh and in order to figure out what day you need to come visit me take this," Grandma Sorceress said. She handed me what looked like a bracelet. It was a gold bracelet that was just a gold chain. There wasn't much to it other than that.

I raised an eyebrow. "Okay?"

"I know this bracelet doesn't look like much," She said, "but when it's for you to meet me again the bracelet will glow a blue bright light color and you will immediately be teleported here. You both might want to stand up and follow me because this room is going to disappear soon."

Tyler and I did as we were told and followed Grandma Sorceress out of the room and we heard the sound of a door slamming shut behind us. Once we got to the steel door at the entrance to this place she turned and hugged Tyler first and then hugged me next. "Remember you'll have two months to process this information and nothing more than that. I can't wait to see you again, until then take care!"

With that, we exited past the steel door and once it closed Tyler and I left the cave and headed back to Tyler's home.

{The Seventy-one Voices}

Little did Mary know that the seventy-one voices that she thought she had locked away in the back of her mind were scheming to get out of their prison. The ringleader of the voices was a spirit named Charlie. The voices that were actually spirits decided to have a meeting to discuss their plan to escape their prison.

Charlie sat down on a chair besides the other spirits that were deemed the council members that helped keep law and order amongst the spirits. The other spirits however weren't allowed to sit down; they had to stand to show respect towards the council.

Once the meeting was called to order the first thing that Charlie couldn't help but do was laugh her ass off. "Oh Mary, what are we going to do with you?"

Another council member by the name of Chad snickered. "Yeah so what do we do to escape? Because Mary's been able to hold us off for years now."

"For now we wait because it's only a matter of time before she realizes that she can't hold us here forever." Charlie said.

"But what if that doesn't happen?" Chad said.

"If it doesn't happen we'll just have to force our way out. Until then we just need to wait," Charlie said, she turned to the others. "We will wait for a time when we can break out of here. Anyone who doesn't listen to my order will be banished to Hell. Do you understand?"

"Yes ma'am!" The other spirits said.

Charlie nodded. "Good this meeting is done for the time being. We'll discuss this matter again later."

With that the meeting was over.

Once we got back to the mansion that Tyler called the pack house where most of the werewolf pack lives I couldn't help but be on edge about the information that I just found out. I mean seriously Gate Wielder? Double Knighted Wolf? On top of that I have a mate who's an Alpha but maybe having a mate who's an Alpha wouldn't be that bad? I mean for some reason I already feel like I can trust him and during the ride back I couldn't help but think about the whole mate thing and that I should talk about it with Tyler and confirm it.

So right after we got back I pulled Tyler off to the side.

"What is it?" Tyler said.

"I was thinking about this whole mate thing," I said, "maybe it's time I confirm it for myself?"

"Okay, are you sure about that?" Tyler said.

I nodded. "Yes. The question is how do we l-"

Before I could finish my question Tyler reached over and kissed me. I couldn't stop myself from kissing him back. I felt warm and his touch felt like sparks but in a good way. I wanted to go further but I stopped myself and Tyler stopped too.

He smiled at me. "So, what did you think?"

I smiled. "You know what, that confirms it, you're my mate."

His smile turned into a grin. "So do you want to turn this into a relationship?"

I nodded. "Sure. Exactly how do we do that?"

"It's simple, all you gotta do is say your full name and say that you accept me." Tyler said. "And then I'll do the same thing."

"Okay," I said, "I, Mary Ava Dawn, accept you Alpha Tyler as my mate."

"I, Alpha Tyler of the Steel Armor pack, accept you Mary Ava Dawn as my mate," Tyler said.

He reached over to kiss me again but before he could we heard Lauren say, "Well it's about damn time you two got together!"

"And we got it on video!" Mrs. Amoria said.

"Seriously?" Tyler said.

"What," said Mrs. Amoria, "I couldn't help it! I had a feeling this was going to happen and it did. I'm so proud!"

"Okay it's not like I proposed marriage to her," Tyler said.

"Oh she's just happy you finally asked her out!" Lauren said.

Mrs. Amoria cleared her throat. "Well Lauren, why don't we leave these two lovebirds alone?"

Lauren and Mrs. Amoria then left us alone and Tyler smiled. "What do you want to do?"

"Honestly," I said, "I have no idea."

Later that night I had that dream or flashback again, the one about the burning school bus. This time when I woke up I saw a wolf sleeping at the edge of my bed. It was the same gray and white wolf that I saw the last time I had that flashback and couldn't get out of it.

I rubbed my eyes and pinched myself just to make sure that I wasn't seeing things. Then the wolf stirred and opened his eyes. Hey there, remember me? I'm Jacob, the wolf that helped you get out of that flashback. I'm Tyler's wolf. Don't be scared of me, you have nothing to be afraid of as long as I'm around!

Aww isn't that cute? Danger thought, We have a wolf bodyguard! Who'd thought that our mate could be so thoughtful?

I blinked. Uh… Okay? Where's Tyler?

I'm right here! It's the same thing that you do with your wolf. We reside in the same body. Tyler thought.

Oh I see. So are all werewolves like this? I thought.

Yup! Anyway, are you okay? You seemed kind of disturbed when you woke up. Tyler thought.

Well gee Tyler maybe she was disturbed that a wolf was sleeping at the edge of her bed? Jacob thought. I told you about that but I guess you can't help it when it comes down to our mate can you?

Yeah, yeah whatever. Tyler thought.

I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that Tyler's wolf was scolding him about sleeping at the edge of my bed in wolf form. Honestly now that I see that he's not a threat I thought it was kind of cute.

"Actually I think it's kind of cute," I said. I paused and then smiled. "You know something? I actually feel calm."

Jacob's ears perked up. Oh really? You actually feel calm now?

I nodded. "Yes I do. Normally either me or my friend Sharry would have to resort to extreme measures to get me to calm down. My last freak out was uh, let's just say it was bad."

Jacob tilted his head. I continued, "Yeah I picked up a chair and tossed it out the window! Good thing I was in my house when I did it."

Yikes! Let's hope you don't have a temper tantrum while you're staying here. Jacob thought.

Yeah that makes two of us. I thought, Who knows, maybe Grandma Sorceress's training will help me chill out on my anger a bit?

Maybe? And talking to me and Tyler will help you for sure! Jacob thought.

I smiled at Jacob and Tyler and I don't know what possessed me to do this but I reached over and scratched them behind the ear. They seemed to like it because they leaned into my hand when I did it. Then they looked up at me and licked my face.

"Gross!" I said as I wiped the slobber from my face.

Tyler chuckled. You mind if I sleep next to you like this? I don't know why but I feel better sleeping in my wolf form.

Sure why not, I feel calm and I don't feel the need to blow off some steam. I might actually be able to go back to sleep. I thought.

Tyler and Jacob nodded and they snuggled underneath the covers next to me and eventually I drifted off to sleep.
