{Mary}
Once Justin and I went outside, Justin snapped his fingers and we were in a realm that looked a lot like a garden. The same one that I had my evaluation fight with Grandma Sorceress.
"Alright, so tell me, what are the three rules of combat?" Justin said as he picked a nearby bench and sat down on it.
I rolled my eyes. "The first rule is stay grounded so you can center your attacks because your body is your weapon."
He nodded. "Good and rule number two?"
"Never give your enemy an opening," I said.
He nodded again. "Good and rule number three?"
"Keep fighting until your enemy is disabled or you can't fight anymore," I said.
Justin smiled. "Alright it seems you still remember what the rules are but can you put them into practice in your combat moves?"
"I think I can," I said. "I just have to practice more."
"Yup and there's going to be a lot more in teaching you how to control your powers than just combat training. You are a three in one deal miss Trinity!" Justin said.
I raised an eyebrow. "Trinity? Last time I checked, my name is Mary."
He nodded. "Yes I know but every Celestial being or any being that's as strong as a Celestial needs a nickname. Why? Because you're considered a Celestial and if someone knows their real names that gives a person or spirit power over them. And you are a three in one deal because you're a Gate Wielder, a Double Knighted Wolf and a hybrid."
I grit my teeth. "I am NOT a hybrid!"
"Oh that's right, I forgot you don't accept the fact that you're a hybrid yet," Justin said. "Don't worry you will sooner or later after you get your -ahem- chastity belt off you. Thankfully you'll have your mate to do that for you."
I felt my face go red and I looked away. Justin couldn't stop laughing at my reaction. When I looked back at him I snapped, "That is not funny!"
He stopped laughing after a moment. "Okay, okay jokes aside, in order for me to start training and figure out your skill set we'll have to have an evaluation fight of course."
I rolled my eyes. Of course he would want to do an evaluation fight! I wonder if this is going to be a trend with everyone who wants to help me train?
Well duh, they need to know where you're at in your skill level! Didn't you hear a word he just said? Danger scolded me.
I ignored her and waited for Justin to tell me to take my fighting stance.
He nodded and stood up facing me. "Alright then, let's begin."
I took my fighting stance and just like the other fights I've had so far Justin and I circled each other like two sharks sizing up their prey in the water. I made the first move this time by trying to land a punch to his face which he blocked with ease. He threw out a punch next and I blocked him.
As the fight dragged on it seemed like we were evenly matched or at least I thought we were. Somehow he managed to catch me off guard by landing a kick to my stomach and it sent me flying about ten feet up in the air! I landed on the ground face first.
"You seem to have forgotten rule number two," He said. "Never give your enemy an opening."
"I thought I was following that rule just fine!" I said as I got to my feet.
"Oh really? You gave me an opening by being too confident. Never, ever do that! That's ALWAYS a bad idea! That can make you lose a fight and the next time you lose a fight it might not be with just a kick to the stomach. You could wind up losing the fight by your enemy taking your life," Justin said.
But before I could answer he looked behind me and frowned. "What? What's wrong?"
He pointed. "There's a door behind you and it's opened!"
I looked behind me and my eyes went wide. "Shit!"
After I said that, I felt myself getting sucked into the door. Right after I got sucked into the door I thought I was going to outside of the realm but I got dumped right back where I started. When that happened and the door sucked me into it again and the same thing happened. That happened several times until Justin yelled, "Halt!"
I laid flat on my stomach on the ground panting and desperately trying to catch my breath.
"What. The hell?" I wheezed still trying to catch my breath.
"Stay still!" He commanded.
I looked up at him and glared at him. What the hell! I hate this!
Chill out Mary! He's trying to help! Danger snapped.
I paused. Justin finished whatever he was doing and released his hold on my powers. I sat up and looked at the door that was right in front of me, it was closed but it was trying so hard to open again. "What the hell is going on?"
"Your gate decided to go berserk on you again!" Justin said, "Thankfully Grandma Sorceress gave me a key to be able to try to control it. But there's no guarantee that'll help. I have an idea! Not sure if it'll work but it's worth a try. And it's going to hurt a bit though."
I blinked. "Okay?"
"Come here and sit down," He said. I sat down and I looked at his hand in curiosity when he took out a silver key. "Listen, silver tends to hurt werewolves and sometimes witches. Although I understand silver being able to hurt a werewolf, I don't why it would hurt a witch though."
I barely heard what he said because I was more interested in the key he was holding. He cleared his throat, "You know the old saying 'curiosity kills the cat?' This isn't going to kill you but it will and I repeat it WILL hurt. Stop looking at the key, look at me and nod if you understand."
I looked at him and nodded. "Yes I understand. So what is the key for?"
"This key helps Gate Wielder's open and close their doors. That's because when a Gate Wielder starts out they don't have any control over their gates most of the time. Although I've never seen a Gate Wielder's powers beat the crap out of them!" Justin said. He continued, "It's going to hurt because you're a witch in general."
"Okay," I said. "I'm up for trying anything to help keep me from getting the crap beat out of me by my own powers."
He nodded. "Okay then." He took out a silver chain and put the key on it and handed it to me.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
I yelped in pain as soon as I put the necklace on because it burned my neck when I did. After a moment or two the burning sensation on my neck stopped and Justin looked at me with surprise. I tilted my head. "What is it?"
He pulled the collar of my shirt over and said, "Interesting! I've never seen silver embed itself underneath someone's skin before! It looks like you have a tattoo around your neck now. Even the key embedded itself in your skin!"
"Seriously?" I said.
He nodded. "Yup!" He pulled out a wand and flicked it with his right hand and out of thin air a mirror appeared. I went over and pulled the collar of my shirt down.
My eyes went wide when I saw what he was talking about. "Okay… That's weird!"
"No kidding, well hopefully this will help, I'm going to cross my fingers though just to be safe," Justin said. "Alright, that completes your training for today. At least I know what I'm working with. Let's go back before your mate thinks I kidnapped you."
I chuckled, "Yeah I still think he's being ridiculous about a guy I just met! But then again I guess you could say I'm being ridiculous about one of his pack members who wants to be my best friend right off the bat. I think she's trying to be friends with me to get to him."
Justin snorted. "Yeah you're both being ridiculous but you guys can't help it. It's the mate bond and I have a suspicion that you've already soul bonded with him. From what I know of a witch can soul bond with their mate before they even meet them. Which is why most if not all of arranged marriages amongst witches fail because one of the two or both of them find out who their mate is. Not to mention nine times out of ten with the two witches that have been arranged to marry they're not each other's mates."
"Okay." I said. "So I have the mate bond because Tyler's a werewolf and the soul bond because I'm a witch?"
He nodded. "Exactly! Now let's go back."

{Alpha Tyler}
I couldn't stop pacing back and forth in the living room of the guest house waiting for Mary to return. The main reason I was pacing was because I could feel Mary's emotions through the mate bond. Mostly because she was in pain and then pissed off earlier and I had no idea what was happening to her. But for some reason Jacob wasn't bothered by this at all.
Seriously Tyler calm down! She's fine I'm sure of it. Jacob thought.
Exactly how can you be so calm right now? I thought.
Because she's fine, she's being trained by Justin for combat training. So of course she's going to deal with being in pain, probably from getting her ass kicked or something like that. Jacob thought. Dude you are her mate and not her father! Act like her mate and not her dad and take a freaking chill pill. Or you can go hug a friend instead if you want? You could go find Theo because I'm pretty sure he's raiding your refrigerator right now.
Before I could react to that statement a bright light happened and Justin and Mary appeared right in front of me. Mary hugged me as soon as she saw me. I couldn't stop myself from checking to see if she had any serious injuries or anything like that. She raised an eyebrow when I did that. "What are you doing?"
"I'm a…" I said.
She laughed, "Let me guess you're trying to see if I need to go to the hospital or anything like that aren't you?"
"Ah…" I said and I looked away.
"Aww there's so much romance in this room right now I really want to cry!" Justin said sarcastically.
"Anyway, on a different note," said Mary, "look I got a new tattoo!"
I gasped. "You did what?!"
"Okay chill out it wasn't intentional it just happened," Mary said. She pulled the collar of her shirt down a little and revealed what looked like a tattoo that was a silver necklace with a key pendant on it.
I blinked. "That's weird."
Mary nodded. "Yeah I know."
I reached up to touch the tattoo and was surprised to find that it didn't affect me at all. So even though it used to be a silver necklace now that it's a tattoo it won't hurt me. "Yeah it's weird and interesting at the same time."
Justin nodded. "That is interesting because I've never seen that happen with any students that I've trained!"
Then I remembered something where Justin would stay while he was here training Mary. I already thought about it, he was going to stay in the other bedroom in the same guest house as Mary. I didn't realize that her trainer was going to be a guy.
"Anyway, Justin, while you're here training Mary, you'll be staying in this guest house but in the other room," I said.
He raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Are you okay with that? Because I can stay somewhere else."
"To be honest I'm not okay with it but to be honest, I'll be over here most of the time so you won't be able to make any passes at her without me knowing about it!" I answered.
Justin gave me an amused look. "Wow, I knew Alpha's were possessive of their mates but gee trust issues much?" He pointed at Mary. "What if she makes a pass at me?"
Mary snorted. "Yeah no thanks. You're not my type."
Justin shrugged. "Alright then, Tyler you have nothing to worry about. Not to mention Mary's kind of possessive of you so yeah."
I paused. "Huh?"
Mary rolled her eyes. "Remember what I told you about Sasha?"
I couldn't help but grin when I remembered that Mary's jealous of Sasha. "Oh yeah I remember!"
I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. When I let her go Justin rolled his eyes and said with an annoyed tone of voice, "Would you two get a room! Yeah romance is nice and all but since you're having another guest in the guest house maybe any romance like that should be kept behind closed doors? That's just a suggestion."
"Hey guys!" I heard Sasha say. It was as if she knew it was her cue to pop up. I turned around and tried hard not to roll my eyes at her. I bit my tongue when I saw her with a huge tray of food in her hands. I bit my tongue because I didn't want to snap at her when it looked like she was trying to be hospitable when I knew otherwise. "I brought food!"
She smiled at Mary and Mary shifted on her feet and looked away. She pouted, "Aw come on Mary, I'm not that bad! I thought we were going to be friends. And don't worry I won't do what I did the other day."
Mary gave Sasha a wary look. "Uh-huh sure you won't. Okay fine since I just met you I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Just don't touch me like that again and I don't care if it's acceptable or not don't do it because I don't like it. Are we clear on that?"
Sasha nodded. "Crystal! I won't do it again, scouts honor!"
Sasha went over to the kitchen table and then she smiled when she noticed Justin. "I'm sorry I didn't see you there. My name is Sasha."
Justin smiled. "My name's Justin and I'm Mary's trainer."
Sasha and Justin shook hands and that's when I had an idea. I pulled Justin off the side. He looked at me. "What?"
"Sasha might be looking friendly now but she's been a real pain in the ass lately," I said.
"How so?" Justin asked.
"She's jealous of Mary so she's been trying to come in between us…" I said.
"I'd love to help but that's going to be hard because I can sense that Sasha has a mate," Justin said. "However, the mate bond is so very faint with her it might as well be as if she doesn't have a mate at all. Let me guess, you want me to find a way to distract and date her?"
"Well distract her at least," I said. "If you two wind up dating that's a bonus."
"Yeah, the dating part probably won't happen not as long as her mate is still alive and she hasn't rejected him yet," Justin said. "But when I'm not training Mary I can try to get her to pay attention to me instead of you."
"If you can do that, that would be great," I said. "But Sasha's stubborn though, so it's going to take some work on your part."
"Well if she doesn't want me then she doesn't want me. That's just all there is to it," Justin said. "I'll try but I won't guarantee that it'll work. I'll at least see that she hangs out with me regularly instead of bugging you two."
I nodded. "Thanks."
"No problem. Now why don't we go eat the food Sasha brought before it's gone," Justin said.
When we sat down at the table the food was still there and Mary was eating a handful of it on her plate.
You know you forgot to mention that Sasha's gay again! Jacob thought.
I didn't respond because I was too busy glaring at Sasha who was returning the favor by glaring at me. Mary looked back and forth between me and Sasha and frowned. "What's wrong with you two?"
I shook my head. "It's nothing."
Sasha rolled her eyes. "Uh-huh, it's nothing all right!"
I looked at her and gave her the stink eye. "Yeah it's nothing and it will stay nothing!"
"Alright calm down you two," said Mary. "This is a kitchen not an area for a battle royal! Although you guys do have a training area for that. It's just not here."
Sasha chuckled and we sat there eating our food in silence. After we ate Mary got up to leave and Sasha followed her over to the living room. I promptly followed them and sat in between them on the couch. I put my right arm over Mary's shoulder and glared at Sasha. Yeah Sasha's not going to get a chance to make a pass at Mary right now if I have something to say about it. Nope, it's not happening!
