My jaw pretty much hit the floor when I saw on the news Prince Andrew Scott announcing to the whole world that my Luna, Trinity, is his daughter! I wasn't the only one whose jaw dropped. Basically everyone who was in the pack house watching the news was shocked.
I looked over at Mrs. Amoria and she looked like she was getting ready to faint. I rushed over to her. "Are you okay?"
She composed herself, "Yes I'm fine, I'm just shocked. Did you know about this?"
I shook my head. "No I didn't know. The last thing I know is that Tyler and Trinity went to go see Grandma Sorceress for some reason. That's all I know."
She nodded. "Okay then… Um I need to go talk to Tyler's-"
We jumped when my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and I grinned when I saw that it was Tyler calling me. I answered the call, "Tyler why the fuck were you hiding the fact that Trinity is a Princess from us?"
"I wasn't hiding it!" Tyler said, "I just found out yesterday when we met the guy! He put her in the hospital because he was testing her fighting skills. It wasn't until then that he was forced to shift into his human self by his mother that I found out!
"It was Trinity's idea for her Dad to hold a press conference about it. She figured that once it was announced the hunters would go after her in the Celestial Kingdom and leave the pack alone. Why do you think I told you to not let any reporters on pack grounds yesterday night? And to look out for drones?"
I paused. "Oh." Then I thought about it. "Oh! Well that explains why there were a couple of reporters outside the pack grounds already!"
"Yeah I had a feeling that might happen," Tyler said. "They saw Trinity and I with her father and grandparents at the mall the other day during a family outing." He laughed, "I still can't believe that Trinity's Dad and her Grandfather already made a bet concerning her."
"Oh really? What was the bet?" I asked.
"To see who could win a rock climbing race!" Tyler said, "Trinity's Dad won. Good thing he didn't challenge Trinity to race because he would've lost hands down!"
I chuckled because I remember one day Trinity, Tyler and I went to go train out by that small mountain that was just outside of pack grounds. Trinity was eager to climb up it and she didn't even wait until we got our safety gear on to start climbing. That woman has no fear when it comes down to falling off a cliff. She was already at the top of the mountain by the time Tyler and I got our safety gear on!
"Alright then, I'll keep you posted if anything happens while you're gone," I said.
"Thanks I'm not sure when we'll be back so you might have to be the stand in Alpha for a while," Tyler said. "Trinity's going to learn how to control her powers and I'm going to be learning how to strengthen mine."
I gasped, "Wow with that type of training once you get back our pack will be unstoppable!"
"No kidding!" Tyler said, "Listen I gotta go. I'll talk to you when I get a chance to."
"Alright then talk to you later!" I said. Tyler hung up the phone and then Mr and Mrs Amoria came back into the room.
"I can't believe our daughter-in-law is a Princess! Why did she hide that from us?" Mr. Amoria said.
"Actually," I said. "They didn't know this information until yesterday when they first met Trinity's Dad! So they were just as surprised as we are!"
"Oh!" Mr and Mrs Amoria said at the same time.
Mrs. Amoria clapped her hands excitedly. "This calls for a celebration as soon as Trinity and Tyler get back, we need to throw a huge party for them! Do you have any idea when they'll be coming back?"
I shook my head. "Nope, Tyler said he doesn't know when they'll be back so I'm going to assume it's going to be a while before they get back. I guess until they get back I'm in charge."
Mr. Amoria snorted. "Well duh, you are the beta and part of your responsibilities is managing the pack while the Alpha is away."
"Yeah I know," I said. I got everyone back to work or whatever they were doing after letting them take a moment or two to get over the shock of finding out Trinity is a Princess. But that didn't stop the news from being the talk of the pack.

{Trinity}
"So are you ready to go for a run?" Dad asked.
We were standing at the edge of the forest that surrounded the castle in the Celestial Kingdom. I was still reeling from the shock of finding out that I'm a Princess. I needed some fresh air to clear my head. I figured it would be to go for a run with my Dad. That way I could clear my mind and get to know Dad better.
I looked over at Dad and nodded. "Oh yeah, I'm ready and I'm pretty sure Danger's ready to come out. She's been pretty anxious since yesterday."
"Alright let's shift!" Dad said. He went around the corner so he could take his clothes off without me watching and I went a corner well away from him to do the same thing.
After I shifted I went around to see Dad's pure white wolf looking at me and I was pissed! You! You were the one who put me in the hospital when we first met!
Yeah sorry about that, I was just testing you! Well you're fine now so let's- Dad thought.
What? Trinity I think your Dad is a nutcase! Danger exclaimed. What father needs to test their daughter and put them in the hospital when they first meet?
I told him that was a bad idea! But noooo Andrew never listens to me on anything! I heard another voice say in the mindlink. Before you ask, my name is Nick and I'm your father's wolf! I agree with you Andrew's an idiot! And I must say Danger, you are beautiful!
Why thank you! And it's nice to meet you! Danger thought.
Okay Trinity, I apologize for putting you in the hospital. Dad thought.
I stomped my paw on the ground in anger. Well sorry doesn't cut it right now! I'm going to kick your ass during training and that's not a threat, it's a promise!
Dad snorted. Okay sure, I'll give you a chance to do that but I doubt you'll succeed but sure let's go for a run!
You don't have to tell me twice! Danger thought. She shot off like a rocket and I laughed as Dad called after her in the mindlink. Dad calling after her just made her run faster.
Danger stopped running after a moment or two and turned around waiting for Dad to catch up to her. She taunted him. Aww, is the old fart having trouble keeping up with me? What's the matter, are you out of shape or something? If that's the case you really need to work out more!
I couldn't stop laughing when Danger said that. Nick, Dad's wolf got a real kick out of it too.
No, I'm not out of shape! Dad thought defensively. You just got a head start, that's all.
Alright then, fine, let's start a race fair and square! I'll wait for you to catch your breath first. Danger thought. Danger waited until she felt Dad was ready to race. Alright how about we do five laps around the castle forest starting from the gate where we're at right now.

Dad nodded and Danger thought, Ready… Set… Go!
Once again Danger shot off like a rocket running as fast as she could. This time, Dad seemed to be able to keep up with her. We did four laps around the forest without even breaking a sweat. Then we did five laps and ended the race in a tie. Normally Danger would've challenged Dad for a rematch but she seemed satisfied that the race came out in a tie.
Well that was fun! Hey, I want to show you two something. We passed it during our race. Dad thought.
I nodded. I followed Dad deep into the forest and we came to a stop at the most beautiful waterfall I had ever seen! Starting at the edge of the cliff it was on, the water fell freely into the river down below and I had no idea how far down the waterfall the river was. The crystal clear blue water that fell into the river fascinated me because the colors of a rainbow flashed faintly in it as the sunlight beamed down on it.
I noticed as I stared at the waterfall for the first time in a long while I felt at peace.
I know it's beautiful isn't it? Dad thought, snapping me out of my trance.
I nodded and thought, Mhm yes I actually feel some sort of peace at the moment. It's been a while since I've felt this way.
Well that's good, but it's not the waterfall that I wanted to show you, it's what's behind the waterfall that I wanted to show you. Dad thought. Follow me.
I followed him behind the waterfall and deeper into the darkness of a cave we entered. When we reached the destination my jaw dropped at what I saw. The place looked a lot like Grandma Sorceress's Realm but more of a garden that one might see straight out of a fairytale. The grass was well kept and there were all sorts of different flowers planted on the far right side of the garden and there were a couple of ivory vines that crawled up the wall of the garden on the left side of it.
Whoa! What is this place? I thought.
This place is the perfect place to start your training! The first thing we'll work on is getting you to be able to meditate enough to quiet your inner demons. Once you can calm down your inner demons that should help to start getting control over your powers. And from what I can sense your inner demons are out of control. It might also help your Gate Wielder Being to reveal themselves to you. Dad thought. Before we can do anything we need to shift into our human forms and don't worry there's a change of clothing for each of us right behind that tree over there. Just grab a change of clothing when you shift.
I nodded and did as I was told and after that Dad motioned for me to sit down at a nearby tree stump.
"Alright," said Dad, "Did you know you have seventy-five different beings inside of you right now?"
I paused. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"I know all about that Guardian Ritual that witches have to do when they become of age after casting their first spell," Dad explained. "You have seventy-one different spirits in you from that ritual. Part of being a Celestial is being able to sense how much magic a person has but only the Royals in the Celestial Kingdom have the gift to be able to discover where the source of the power is coming from. You are only supposed to have four beings inside of you."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Well the four beings that should be inside of your body are you, your shadow and I doubt your shadow has told you what her name is yet," Dad continued. "Your Gate Wielder Being should be there along with your wolf of course. Everyone else inside you isn't supposed to be there. They're squatters and they need to be kicked out."
I snorted and when I looked at him I smiled sadly. "I understand, I just know this isn't going to be easy for me. And to be honest I'm scared. What if I fail? What happens then?"
Dad reached over and put a hand on my shoulder and looked me square in the eye. "Don't do that! Don't you ever doubt yourself. I want to see the strong confident Trinity, the badass Trinity who kicks butts and has her enemies biting the dust! Those spirits will wish they could die once you get done with them!"
I laughed a bitter laugh because I wanted to believe Dad. I wanted to believe everything was going to be fine. From where I'm standing, getting rid of those spirits inside of me is going to be the hardest and most dangerous thing I've ever had to do.
Dad sighed, "You're still doubting yourself aren't you? It's going to be easier said than done but take the word and feeling of doubt out of your vocabulary. Starting today, I'm going to help you with meditating."
He moved from the tree stump and sat down on the ground cross legged and motioned for me to do the same.
I looked at him. "So exactly how do I start learning how to meditate?"
Dad smiled. "It starts with summoning a bubble, like this…" He cupped his hands and uncuffed them and a bubble floated up in between them. It looked like a bubble that you might see when you play with one of those bubble wand toys. "Now the bubble doesn't have to be huge. It just has to be big enough to put your worries into it that way when you pop the bubble everything bad thought you have for the moment disappears."
I blinked. "Huh, okay then."
"So focus your powers on the palm of your hands. Not too much and not too little, just right in between," Dad said. "Don't rush it though because believe it or not this step to learning how to meditate is actually the hardest step for a lot of people. Sometimes it takes months for people to learn this. But finding the right balance of power to form your bubble is the first step to calming your inner demons."
I nodded. "Okay." I focused on the palm of my hands figuring out how to put my magic there. When I didn't feel anything I frowned. "Exactly how do I know when I have power in the palms of my hands?"
"You should start to feel a slight warming sensation as if you're holding a heating pad in your hands. And along with that a slight breeze as if there's a small thunderstorm in your hands," Dad answered.
I tried again and nothing happened. At this moment I was starting to feel frustrated that I couldn't get this. Dad laughed, "I told you this step is the hardest to learn and since you have trouble just sitting still this step might take a while for you to learn."
"But I don't have a lot of time to learn this!" I cried, "There's the hunter's coming after and then there's-"
"Things will happen in due time daughter," Dad said, cutting me off. "Until then, you have plenty of time to learn this. I know you don't think that you do but you have help this time. You have the Royal Family and the Steel Armor pack backing you up. You also have me and your husband Tyler. You have help and you don't have to fight this alone."
"Yeah I know I have help, it feels weird having help like this," I said. "I'm used to doing everything alone and I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me."
"You know being an Alpha of a pack and being a person of royalty automatically will put you in harm's way. I'm pretty sure Tyler knows this and I know this as well. It comes with the territory. Let me ask you this, you didn't have a problem killing those hunters that were sent after last time right?" Dad said.
I shook my head. "Nope! And I still didn't have a problem with it."
"Well they got harmed because of you. If you hadn't run away from home then those hunters would still be alive today," Dad stated.
"I never thought of it that way before, but when I say I don't want anyone to hurt because of me I'm talking about my family and my loved ones," I said. "I guess I should've made that clear."
"It's okay," Dad said. "The hunters knew they could lose their lives going into the job anyway. Being a hunter is a dangerous job. I had a friend who was a hunter and I warned him about taking that job and how dangerous it can be."
"What happened to him?" I asked.
"He died on the job, he was sent out to hunt a Demon that had been attacking people on the northern border of the Celestial Kingdom," Dad said.
I put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay like you just said, your friend knew how dangerous the job was going into it."
Dad sighed, "Yeah I know. Anyway, enough about that. It's probably getting late outside. So we should probably get going. Let's change out of our clothes and shift into our wolves and run home."
Once we shifter into our wolf forms I thought through the mindlink, Dad wanna have another race? After we get outside the cave so we don't slip and fall of course.
Dad chuckled, Sure, why not? We're still doing father and daughter bonding time. I wouldn't mind if the race ended in a tie again!
Yeah right, like I'm going to let that happen this time! Danger declared. Keep dreaming old fart! I'm going to win! Danger gave Dad a lopsided smile. I laughed at her. She sure doesn't like losing any type of completion even if it's just for fun.
I should remind you that this is just a race Danger. It's just fun, not for real. I thought.
It doesn't matter, I'm not going to lose! Danger declared again.
I tried not to laugh because once we got out of the cave Danger readied her stance to race. I nodded when I saw Dad do the same.
Alright then, ready… Set… Go! I thought. Danger didn't hesitate, she shot off like a rocket just like she did with the last race.
I couldn't stop myself from laughing when Danger started taunting Dad. You can't catch me, ha, ha, ha, ha!
I even heard Nick, Dad's wolf laughing his ass off through the mindlink at Danger's taunting. Before I knew Danger dashed through the castle gate and was standing right at the entrance to the castle when Dad ran up to us panting trying to catch his breath.
Once Dad caught his breath he caught me and Danger by surprise by tackling us and we pretty rolled down to the front steps by the entrance.
Hey, no fair! You surprised us! Danger thought after she got to her feet.
Second rule of combat: don't give your enemy an opening! Dad teased, Looks like you broke that rule!
Yeah I don't think that counts because we're engaging in combat!! I thought.
Yeah you're right, it's a little something called teasing, Dad thought, Alright let me mindlink one of the guards to bring us a change of clothing.
A minute later one of the guards Dad mindlinked came running up to us with a change of clothing for each of us. Once he handed us the clothing he gave us a short bow and left. After that we changed into our clean clothes and went our separate ways.
