67. The Tailors of Godspear City

It wasn't hard to find a tailor at all. But it was a bit harder to get a tailor that worked with qi-beast material. Maybe he would actually need to learn how to make his own pants, if he wants to keep his thing in his pants. It didn't help that his present combination of skills pretty much meant his thing has the ability to pierce through shit easily.

Yet, the heavenly energies guided his way, and he found himself in a clean, properly arranged shop. His instincts told him this was the place.

"I can do it for you." A tailor that looked very much like the secret master from before appeared. They looked like twins. "It'll take a few days, though. Working with spirit beast material does take more work. Do you have the money for it?"

Huang Lu checked his wallet, filled with mostly pilfered money. Thankfully the half star sect guys were really quite rich, so the tailor nodded. "Alright that's good enough. Come back in five days."

"Five?"

"Yeah."

"Shit. That takes a while."

"You can't rush art, and you can't rush pants meant to endure your constant abuse."

"You have any... uh...lesser pants? I mean."

"Disposable pants, you mean. Since you'll puncture a hole in them every time you think about girls."

Huang Lu frowned. "Does that happen often? To cultivators?"

"Not really. None of them have your kind of strength, or have so much of their power focused there." Huang Lu blushed a little. "Most cultivators have their power locked up in their core, yours seems a lot more free flowing."

Huang Lu nodded. This master tailor was clearly a cultivator, even if he seemed every bit mortal. Maybe there was some secret order of the Tailors that ran the supply of cultivation-friendly clothing apparels for the entire world. Not just that, there had to be cultivation-grade cobblers, bra-makers, dressmakers, jewelers as well, since, someone had to dress up all the young maidens and fairies of the world. Otherwise, their dresses would just disintegrate every time they used some kind of move.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Maybe that should be something he should aspire to do. All this fighting shit wasn't really interesting for him anyway, even if the heavens clearly enjoyed it.

"You want to learn how to make clothes, young man?" The tailor suddenly asked, as if reading his mind.

"Uh. Yeah. Yes I do."

The tailor smiled. "I see you have one of the pants made by my fellow brother."

"It's your brother?"

"Half-brother. We have half-brothers everywhere. My father, the Tailor-God, made love with so many women and gave birth to so many of us. We could tell, from the way the stitches were made."

Huang Lu stared at the man who said it with a straight face. "Was that... a joke?"

"Oh no. It's true. My father, the Tailor God, was a 10th realm cultivator, and a master of the scissors and the needle. Even today, he remains in the Highfollows Continent, making great work for the masters."

"Oh." Huang Lu wanted to verify, but he waited.

"To learn the craft of the seamster and the tailor is one of tremendous dedication. You need focus, and an appreciation of how clothes flow and fold on the body of both man and women. Come."

The tailor led him to the workshop underground, and he felt a bit of a spatial distortion. There were at least thirty others working on fabrics and cloth, and some practiced stitching.

"It is an art that takes an eternity to master, but something tells me the heavens will guide you."

Huang Lu briefly considered the imagery of a muscular man working with needles and cloth, and smiled. It appealed to him. There was nothing wrong in the honest work of making clothing for the people.

"As a fine specimen of physical beauty, I think you surely understand the importance of clothing. It's both what you protect, and what you reveal!"

Huang Lu nodded, again, that was profound! "Indeed, I really like this process of creation, rather than destruction!"

The tailor's eyes brightened, and tapped him on the shoulder. "EXACTLY! Cultivators are so consumed by combat and destruction, but where is the creation? In the crafts, we create! A beauty in creation!"

Huang Lu nodded furiously. He really liked this man's pitch.

"Come, come, do you have time?"

"I do." Huang Lu wasn't rushing anyway. "All the time in the world."

"Then watch us work on your pants, and I believe it would be a rewarding experience for you!"

"I would love to."
