31. The First Day in The Brawl of the Rising Stars

[The Penguin Empress and the Dragon has judged and included you in the League of the Rising Stars. Try to stay on the league for as long as possible! And be prepared for battle!]

Huang Lu had just finished his hunt for a three-headed serpent, when he was suddenly teleported into an entirely different realm-

[Initiating the first round of big brawl!]

"Well met, new challenger." A truck blared, and Huang Lu instinctively dodged in fear of the blaring horns. He almost got isekai-ed by the battle truck!

The truck had big floodlights, and had eighteen wheels.

It's a big rig!

"What the fuck-" The truck turned around with a screeching halt, drifted. At that moment, he swore he heard a strange tune playing in the background.

At that moment, a giant brick flew across the skies and smashed into the truck. But the truck survived! The brick roared. "Do you yield your place, battle truck?!"

The battle truck's horn blared. "NEVER TO A BRICK!"

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Huang Lu didn't have time to make sense of what's happening, because he had to dodge a gorilla's punch. "Where the fuck did this monkey come from! And why does he have metal things on his arm?" Huang Lu blocked it and staggered backwards. How was the Gorilla able to punch with so much power!

"Did you think you were unique, cultivator?" Huang Lu ducked as a letter flew across the sky. "When you are not the only one that matter?"

That rhymed! Why did it rhyme? And was that a twig? No. Since when did twigs fly with such sharpness?

"Time and again we will brawl." Huang Lu saw a glowing, central platform. A courtly wizard battled a young boy who seemed exceptionally lucky. Or maybe he just knew how to stack his chips. The boy was losing, and the courtly wizard took the center stage. There were multiple other mages on the battlefield. One of them had a fancy badge, and another looked like he was some baddy's minion. Heavenly favor rained on those who stood in that glowing central platform.

"But only for the favor of them all." Huang Lu dodged the twig again. What the flying fuck...

"What the hell is this?"

A boat rowed up next to him. "Why, this is the Arena of the Rising. Here we earn our place, momentarily, to gain the favor of the heavenly spirits. I'm rowing out, but good luck, newbie." There was a potato on the boat. A giant potato. The Giant potato jumped.

Huang Lu felt like he drank too much and now he's seeing things. Why were the heavens so freaking erratic?

All he did was dodge, but he couldn't move ahead.

"How does one move forward?"

"When the Penguin Empress and the Dragon says so."

"...who's that?" Huang Lu asked.

"We don't know. We only know they run this this place."
