Amity hummed happily to herself as she leaned against her locker. She was doing what had become close to a morning ritual for her as she flicked through Penstagram. It had nothing to do with checking out anything new though. Instead, it was kind of like looking through a photo album, just not of her photos. Or, well, photos she'd taken. She was in all of the pictures after all.
In fact, not just her, but also Luz. It had started with a single account that liked to post pictures of the two of them which had been incredibly embarrassing to find out about when they first tagged her in a post. After all, what if Luz saw any of the times that Amity was just staring at her while she was doing something mundane? Nope. Wasn't allowed. In fact, she'd at first thought about typing up a challenge to a witch's duel to the account holder to make them get rid of it before remembering the all important fact that Luz's phone wasn't like all of theirs. It was from the human realm and while Gus had managed to rig some sort of card into it that would let her be called, they hadn't figured out a way to get her onto the aethernet which meant Amity was safe.
If, you know, Luz respected personal space. "Whatcha lookin' at?"
Amity dove face first into the ground before being reminded that their floors were tile and managing to slide another foot. She let out a small groan before rolling over to let Luz help her up. After all, if the idiot was going to make her hurt herself then Amity was going to get some hand holding out of it. "What have I told you about sneaking up on me?"
Luz giggled for a second as she scratched the back of her head. "Yeah, I know. 'If you do it again, my familiar is going to poke your eye o-' Ack!" Luz flailed backwards as she caught a glimpse of purple out of the corner of her eye and had to turn away before Amity's tiny abomination kept its mother's word.
Amity decided to save her crush's sight though with a snap before she held her hand out for the creature to jump onto. It then scurried back onto her shoulder where it normally stayed. "Okay, so now that we have that you can listen established, why didn't you learn?"
Luz frowned for a second before crossing her arms and pouting. "Because you never let me see your Penstagram! I still remember that absolutely adorable Azura as a kid picture you just scrolled past without a like and I need to make sure you stop committing such crimes!" She then paused just long enough to let Amity smile at the memory before adding, "Though it looked like you were looking at pictures of the two of us. Are those just saved po-"
"No! I mean, who would want to save posts of the two of us? I have our Grom photo. Who could need more..." Blight, your voice just got wistful and quiet. Fix. Fix! "I mean, uh, and I see you everyday so it's nothing new! I just, uh, look because... Because it's important for social standing!" Amity finally managed to look back at Luz after having turned away in a panic at first. "Yes! I need to know what people consider is interesting for me to do so I can continue doing things that make me look good and, uh, avoid embarrassments. That's totally it. No other reason."

Luz giggled before elbowing Amity in the side. "Hey, it's okay if you want to admit that you like my dumb pranks. I mean, you enjoying them is the point."
Amity's cheeks turned bright red before she squeeked out, "Specifically me?"
Luz's face lit up like a candle at the question before looking away. "Well, I mean, the pranks I do specifically on y- Say, how do you find those? Or do they just show up randomly?"
The two girls managed a nervous laugh between the two of them while neither dared look the other in the eye. Amity just had to ride this out until they could tuck it away like water under the bridge. "Oh, uh, there's a hextag called Lumity on Penstagram."
Why did you tell her that? Well, if she was here she might as well try to pretend she didn't care. "But, uh, you know, I think it's pretty dumb that they'd even call it that. I mean, why not just have it be AmityandLuz or something."
Luz knew why it was called that. Luz knew exactly why it was called that as her head steamed. But Amity wasn't a fanfiction person! In fact, she probably wasn't a part of any fandoms and so didn't even know what the term shipping meant! So it meant nothing to her. Please have it mean nothing to her. "Uh, you know, I don't know why either. Say, how about we forget about all of that dumb stuff and focus on the fact that I got another story done! This one is a Honur- Honey and Azura story! Totally that name and not any sort of nickname!"
Amity blinked a few times. She wasn't used to Luz yelling this much. At least, not when she wasn't celebrating something. It made her tilt for a second but before she could dismiss it, her crush stopped her. "Actually, uh, I just remembered that, uh, Professor... I gotta go."
And so Luz ran off and it felt off to Amity for some reason to see the other girl run away. She frowned for a second before her familiar rubbed the blossom and then waved at her. She smiled back at it before patting it on the head. "You're right, it's probably nothing. Besides, we have things to do too."
Ding.
Amity paused for a second to pull her phone back out and see that the main Lumity account had posted something new. Her cheeks then flared with renewed heat as she saw a picture of the moment Amity had panicked and begun launching herself to the floor. The caption said, like it did so many times before, 'Just Another Day of Gay Panic!'. It made Amity groan but at least no one ever brought these posts up to her. Maybe they knew they'd be attacked by a squad of abominations later if they did.
Meanwhile, the owner of said main account sighed as she saw a notification for Amity's like. Skara smiled at her enjoying the post before sighing. She had loved seeing Amity get sillier and getting to make a journal of her descent to being more mortal had lifted some of the pressure on her shoulders since she no longer felt like she was being held to such an impossible standard. It did suck a little that they no longer hung out but oh well. They were both happy after all and everyone seemed to relax more now that Amity wasn't there to remind them of their parents.
Now if only Boscha thought the same. She just got furious at Skara's alt though and, well, slowly got worse the more time that passed. Oh well. It wasn't like she owed the bully anything and her not showing up to the study sessions was probably another reason why everyone chilled out. At the very least, no one was getting bossed around.
Speaking of, she did glance at Boscha's icon on her phone scroll. They had a session tonight but... Well, she'd decide later whether or not to tell the bully. For now, she had to get to class.
