Chapter 174 Exploding the mine.

Chapter 174 Exploding the mine.

As night descended upon the city, the dim light of the coffee shop cast long shadows across the empty streets. Max remained seated by the window, his eyes half-lidded as he sipped the last of his lukewarm coffee. The shop was quiet now, save for the occasional clatter of a dish in the kitchen. The hum of the mine's machinery continued in the distance, a dull reminder of his purpose here.

Max leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes, his hand resting lightly on the silver mirror card, and space rings hidden in his pocket. With a thought, he activated [World of Mirrors]. The familiar sensation washed over him.

Silently, Max shifted his focus to the image he had crafted earlier. In the darkened hotel room, the distorted figure stirred to life, its movements smooth but unnervingly unnatural. Max's consciousness slipped into the image fully, leaving his real body motionless, leaning against his chair.

Through the perspective of the image, Max moved with deliberate caution. He stepped into the mirror world through the small mirror leaning against the hotel room wall.

The silvery fog surrounded him as he scanned the floating mirrors within the radius. Most reflected mundane parts of the city; an alleyway here, a shop there, but one stood out. A dimly lit restroom above the mine, for the workers there apparently.

Max moved toward it, his form rippling like liquid as he passed through the mirror and into the restroom. Emerging silently, he found himself standing over a grimy sink, the faint hum of distant machinery vibrating through the walls. He slipped out of the restroom and into the mine, his form melding into the shadows.

The mine's labyrinthine tunnels stretched before him, dimly lit by flickering bulbs. Max began descending, carefully placing silver mirror cards in hidden crevices along the way.

He had a single space ring filled with small mirrors, and mirror cards, so he didn't need to worry about them running out.

...

At one point, Max's progress was interrupted by the faint whirring sound of a patrolling drone. The mechanical eye swept the area, its sensors probing the shadows.

Max moved quickly, diving into the mirror world through one of the cards he had just placed. The silver fog surrounded him again as he waited, watching the drone through the floating mirror. Once it passed, he stepped back into reality, resuming his descent.

Deeper into the mine, the air grew thicker, the sounds of machinery louder. Max's distorted image moved with uncanny grace, avoiding the workers and guards patrolling the area. He continued planting the mirror cards, each one a adding one more entry point.

Still his progress came to a hold as he found himself at the mid section of the mine with a strange gate in front of him.

It was similar to the scanners used in airports, and although Max wasn't sure of its function he didn't dare risk passing through.

Thinking quickly he pulled a small mirror, and broke it into fragments, and threw the smaller one through the gate as he held his breath.....

Nothing happened, Max wanted to sigh in relief but he didn't have a mouth currently, so instead he kept his work as he entered the mirror world through a card in his hand, and soon enough he appeared on the other side of the gate from the fragment.

...

He kept moving, and as he neared the mine's lowest levels, a guard turned the corner unexpectedly, his flashlight sweeping the area. The beam nearly caught the edge of Max's form, forcing him to act swiftly, or not act as he froze next to the black wall, his form blending as a strange rock.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"huh? Was that wall always like that?" spoke the guard in confusion as he approached Max.

As he got closer he noticed that something was wrong but it was too late.

The moment the guard walked close enough. Without hesitation, Max extended a silver card to him, pulling the stunned guard into the mirror world.

The man vanished with a faint shimmer, his muffled shout cut short as he was absorbed into the mirror.

Inside the mirror world, the guard stumbled on the floating rock, his wide eyes darting around in confusion. Max paid him no mind, focusing instead on his task. The guard would remain trapped for now.

....

After a painstakingly slow and methodical journey, Max finally reached the bottom of the mine. The cavernous space was vast, filled with machinery and glowing crystals embedded in the walls. He placed the final mirror card in a hidden crevice, ensuring it was secure.

Satisfied, Max walked into the mirror world, and closed his eyes, his consciousness pulling back to his real body in the coffee shop. His distorted image froze in place, in front of the stunned guard. As Max reopened his eyes, he smirked faintly, the faint hum of the mine in the distance signaling that everything was in place.

As the moon hung high in the night sky, Max exited the coffee shop, his hands tucked casually into his coat pockets. The streets were deserted, a chilling silence blanketing the city. His boots tapped lightly against the cobblestones as he walked toward a secluded alleyway, the distant hum of the mine still echoing faintly in the background. He stopped at an unlit corner, ensuring no one was around, and pulled a small mirror.

With a flick of his wrist, the mirror shimmered, its surface rippling like liquid. Max stepped forward and disappeared into the mirror world.

Inside the silver fog, the trapped guard was still stumbling around on the floating rock, his earlier defiance now replaced with nervous pacing. Max appeared before him, his expression calm but with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

The guard's mouth opened, likely to plead or curse, but Max didn't give him the chance. A single, casual slap echoed through the void, and the man crumpled to the ground unconscious.

Slap!

Max ignored the guard turning his attention to the arsenal in his possession.

He reached into his coat, pulling out several space rings. Each glinted faintly with stored potential, holding the tools he needed for this destructive task. From one ring, he pulled a colossal cannon, The weapon was imposing, the very air around it vibrating with suppressed power.

The cannon required time to fire, ten minutes in total. Max set it on the ground, positioning it carefully to aim through the last mirror card he'd placed in the mine. He adjusted the trajectory with precision, his hands steady.

As the cannon began its slow charge, the faint hum of its activation filled the mirror world. Max spent the remaining minutes locating the various floating mirrors that corresponded to the cards he'd planted in the mine.

When only two minutes remained before the cannon fired, Max began dropping the explosives directly from the space ring into the real world through the cards. One by one, they landed in the mine and the surrounding area, the rest room, and every place along the way. The tunnels quickly filled with the scattered containers.

.... At first no one noticed, but after 30 seconds some people, and drones came into contact with the containers that kept popping up, and contacted their management to report the situation.

It took almost a minute for the management to fully receive the information and understand the situation, but there were no time to respond.

....

The final thirty seconds ticked down. By now, the mine's guards and workers were panicking because the mine was literally blocked by this strange containers, they triggered alarms, and chaos was beginning to spread. People shouted orders, machinery powered down, and lights flashed frantically.

But it was too late.

The cannon fired with a deafening roar, its energy blasting through the last mirror card Max had planted. The beam of concentrated green light erupted into the mine's deepest level, setting off a chain reaction as the explosives ignited in tandem.

BOOOOOOM

The ground trembled violently, the explosion spreading upward and outward in waves of molten fury. Red flames and blinding green light consumed the mine, ripping through rock and steel with unrelenting force.

.....

Max had already left the mirror world with the cannon and was standing on a distant hill overlooking the city. From his vantage point, he watched as the ground beneath the mine erupted in a massive inferno, the flames licking the sky like a vengeful spirit. The explosion illuminated the night, casting an eerie glow across the landscape.

K-Boom

The explosion has turned the mine into a pit of molten magma, as flames continued pouring upwards like a jet, and in the flames there was a hint of black and golden.

"AI how's the calculation."

[Based on the data given and the set in parameters adding the intensity of the explosion, the rainbow stones should've evaporated into Pure Energy by a percentage of 100%.]

Max smirked, he was afraid that the luck stored in would be released, that way although it wouldn't be as useful as the stone, considering the future applications the stone could have, but the luck would have been still useful enough to the will of the world, now it's pure energy which the will of the world didn't lack.

Without a word, he turned and walked away, the green light of the explosion fading into the distance as he disappeared into the shadows, his destination Kain-city.
