Max flew through the night, his black wings cutting through the cold air as he put as much distance as possible between himself and the city, his direction vaguely heading towards Kain-city.
Although he didn't plan to head directly there. moreover from his current location he was at least 4 days away from Kain-city at his top speed, and he really needed a good rest.
Max's head throbbed with a killing headache, the result of using[World of Mirrors] and [Mirror Image] together.
The exhaustion from the long flight only made it worse, and by the time he spotted a mountain in the distance, he was barely holding on.
He landed roughly, his boots crunching against the rocky ground. The mountain was quiet, its peak shrouded in Mist.
Max didn't have the energy to check his surroundings or even think about his loot from the Atyai family. He simply waved a hand, summoning Lucy from his pet space.
"Take control of this mountain," he muttered, his voice hoarse. "And make me a place to rest."
Lucy materialized in a burst of green light, her tiny form hovering in the air. She didn't waste time, dissolving into the mountain and reshaping the terrain. Within half an hour, she took complete control, and a small cave had formed, its interior smooth and surprisingly cozy.
Max stumbled inside, pulling a bed from his space ring and collapsing onto it. He didn't even bother to let the crows out of the pet space. His last thought before passing out was asking Lucy to keep watch.
....
Max woke to the sound of birds chirping and the faint smell of coffee. He blinked, his headache gone and his energy restored. The cave was warm, sunlight streaming in through a small opening Lucy had created.
"Mimimi!" Lucy chirped, floating over to him with a steaming cup of coffee in her tiny hands.
Max took the cup, nodding in thanks. "Good job, Lu."
"huh?". But after a few seconds, Max registered what just happened, as he glanced at the coffee in his hand.
"you made this?"
Lucy nodded happily.
"okay, thx, but go back to the mountain and keep watch." said Max as he put the cup of coffee aside, deciding he no longer likes coffee at least not for today, please don't joke, for all he knows Lucy put both gunpowder and Rocket Fuel inside it thinking it will give him energy.
Max would be really mad if he tries something prepared by that air-head.
Ignoring the coffee, he stretched, feeling refreshed.
He pulled a bottle from his space ring, and After a few sips of milk, he decided it was time to check the loot from the Atyai family.
Max emptied the storage rings and necklaces he had taken, spreading their contents across the cave floor. The haul was impressive:
Three C-rank teleportation stones, each capable of teleporting the user over 1,000 kilometers after a short cooldown, with a limited number of uses. There was also a one time use B-rank scroll, which allowed teleportation to any location Max had been to before, though it required him to supply the energy.
There were other teleportation items, necklaces, rings, and such.. but Max ignored them because of their low rank, still he didn't discard them, planning to give them to Lucy to dismantle using Kraxtal weaving, hopefully it would help her understand their structure and maybe she can make something useful later on.

The Kraxtal weaving had this kind of use, but Max couldn't do it personally because his understanding of it is lower than Lucy's for now.
Next he found A small pile of space crystals, rare and valuable for crafting space rings and such equipments.
There were other materials but they weren't worth much.
Next came the equipment which honestly disappointed Max; Mostly useless D-rank and E-rank gear, though the old man's cane stood out as a C-rank item.
But It was designed for summoners, so Max couldn't use it effectively.
Next were the money, and a handful of credit cards.
Max broke the cards into pieces and tossed them aside, uninterested in leaving a paper trail.
There were also a collection of normal firearms, which Max deemed useless. He tossed them into a pile, he already had a bunch of those in his space ring, simply keeping them for fun, any more is just filling the space rings for no reason.
"Sigh! There were more at their estate, but breaking in was too risky... Ah whatever.... Lucy get rid of those for me."
'can I have it.'
"huh? Sure.". he didn't mind if she wanted to play with those things.
....
As Max sorted through the loot, she used her telekinesis to gather the discarded items.
At this point Max finally remembered to let the crows out of the pet space. They emerged in a flurry of black feathers, their eyes gleaming with mischief.
Craw! Craw! Delma, the shadow crow, cawed loudly, clearly annoyed at being cooped up for so long.
Max waved a hand dismissively. "Go play. Just don't cause too much trouble."
The crows didn't need to be told twice as they left the cave.
Outside They descended on the pile of discarded items, that Lucy had gathered, their Mafia like instincts kicking in.
Delma stood over the pile and started giving a speech.
Craw! Craw! Craw!.....
The other crows nodded, and started moving in coordination clearly excited.
Haiyer (Fire Crow) grabbed a gun with his talons, holding it awkwardly but with determination.
Raad (Lightning Crow) perched on a rock, acting as the referee.
Ramla (Sand Crow) stole a handful of credits, using them as betting chips.
Imlak (Wind Crow) flew in circles, clearly confused but having fun.
Mok (Psychic Crow) organized the bets, as the other crows gathered on him in excitement.
Craw! Craw! Craw! Craw!
Lucy joined in understanding what they were doing, so using her telekinesis to hold up targets, broken credit cards, scraps of paper, and even a few rocks.
The crows took turns shooting, their aim terrible but their enthusiasm unmatched.
Bang! Bang! Bang!...
....
But A lone traveler stumbled upon the scene, his eyes widening in confusion. The mountain was supposed to be uninhabited, yet here he was, staring at a group of crows shooting guns and gambling with blue credits.
"What the...?" he muttered, backing away slowly.
The crows noticed him immediately. Delma cawed loudly, and the others turned their heads in unison.
Craw! Craw!
Before the traveler could react, Lucy's telekinesis pinned him to the ground. The crows gathered around, their beaks clicking as they debated what to do with him. It's better for them to silence him, otherwise they might get punished if Max knew what they were doing, in all honesty they all knew they were going to get punished anyway, since either Lucy or themselves will inform Max later.
But getting punished after doing the deed is not like getting punished even before doing it.
Craw? Craw?
"Craw?" Mok tilted his head, suggesting they use him as a new target.
Craw! Craw! Craw!
The others agreed, and soon the traveler found himself standing in front of a makeshift firing range, his face pale with fear.
Bang! Band! Bang!.... apparently the guy wasn't too weak as he was able to resist the normal bullets with his body, but his Luck run out when it was Lucy's turn.
Max was busy calling Charles, asking for a list of goods available for purchase, when he heard a loud BOOM.
He rushed outside, only to find Lucy holding a makeshift cannon made from melted guns, her telekinesis stabilizing the massive weapon.
The crows were cheering wildly, their bets placed on whether Lucy could hit the traveler-turned-target, for the second time.
Max stared, completely baffled. "What the hell is going on here?"
The crows froze, their feathers ruffling guiltily. Lucy lowered the cannon, and simply pretended not to be here.
Max sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Alright, everyone. Punishment time. No guns, no gambling. Actually you're not allowed to leave the pet space before we reach Kain-city."
As for using random strangers as targets, he didn't care much, still Max approached the unlucky guy to check on him and decide what to do with him, only to find him completely unmoving already dead.
" seriously what did you do to deserve such bad luck!".exclaimed marks as he turned away.
...
The crows nodded reluctantly, their heads hanging low.
Max shook his head, muttering to himself as he walked back to the cave. "I left you alone for 3 minutes, seriously! ."
