I woke up in the middle of the night and got up, the streets were just as busy as they were in the day, I looked over and saw that Lyra was still sleeping, so I walked out of the room and into the hallway, I quietly closed the door and walked to street level and I kept the rabbit tooth hidden within my hand, I walked throughout the streets looking at everything that moved and slowly walked into a back alley because the streets were too crowded, I heard footsteps behind me but I didn't turn around since I needed to see if I was being followed before I just attacked, and sure enough as I took many turns they followed me, I turned around and two big bulky people were following me, I pulled out my rabbit tooth and held it in such a stance that I could try to pierce the people's stomachs, they looked over and pointed at me and laughed "Hey kid if you give us everything you have we will leave you alone" I shook my head and rushed forward to stab the one to the left since he looked bigger, and right as my weapon was going to stab him in the stomach he grabbed me by the face and threw me to the ground and they began to kick and punch me, and right as I was sure that I would die a man who had a black hood over his head stabed one of the men in the throat and then sent a small ball of something at the other one, the small ball exploded and the man didn't exist anymore as if he had never existed there wasn't a trace of blood, the unknown man extended a hand to me and said "you're lucky I found you when I did" I grabbed his hand and saw under his hood, he had black hair with a straned of red in the front his eyes were a crimson red "thank you, and whats your name?" he helped me stand up straight, and upon looking at his face he looked to be about 15 or 16 "Im Ezra Wood" I extended my hand for a handshake "Im Orion Rivers" we shook hands and then i said "Well its nice to meet you Ezra woods" he looked around "would be best if we leave this area" i nodded and then said "I currently have a room at the inn we can talk at" he nodded and we walked back to the inn, "Also i have an elf friend who is currently staying with me, so she might be asleep" he nodded again and we entered into the room, I also shook Lyra awake and then said "So this man just saved my life and seems kind of nice, but keep your guard up" she nodded and then said "Hello Im Lyra Frost and you are" he extended his hand and said "Im Ezra wood" Lyra didn't shake his hand but instead said "Thank you for Saving Orion from whatever danger he was in" Ezra nodded and then i said " SO I would like to ask that you join us on our journey to a special Awakend camp" he laughed "you haven't been out of the safe camps have you" I shook my head "No I haven't just recently I was banished" he looked out the window "well then ill join you for awhile then, but I wont teach you anything" I nodded and said "Well were currently moving from town to town to try to find a suitable place before winter comes" he nodded and said "Seems you understand some of the possible dangers of the outside worlds but not all of them" I sat down and said "me and Lyra have been surviving alone with little knowledge of the outside world" he nodded "as many Awakend do, but I wonder why she jounryed with you when most camps are fine with Elves" Lyra looked up and said "Because Orion was the only one to show me any kindness in the camp" he looked over at her "Strange the camp I came from showed extrem amounts of kindness to Elfs" she looked down again "well I cant use normal magic like they can" he nodded "I've heard of people like that, but generally their magic is stronger then the normal People" I looked to Lyra and said "She wasn't even wanted by her parents since they believed her to be magic less" he nodded "yea my parents didn't want me when they figured out my abilitys" he said the last part slightly saddened sounding, a tiny ball of purple was in his hands and he formed it into a coin like object and it rolled across each of his knuckles and then when it got to his thumb he tossed it to his other hand, I then said "What even is that" I pointed to the purple coin he then held the coin up in the light " I'm not really sure what this is, but is drains my mana to extreme amounts even though I'm a red core" i was confused "Whats a mana core?" Ezra looked at me dumbfounded "How have you been awakend but not know what a mana core" I shrugged "One day I was just able to use some magic" he looked me up and down before he said "For most of us awakend it takes years to form a mana core and you just did it by accident, its either that or you're just using the natural mana in your body" I looked over at him and said " I truly don't know" then Ezra said "I could test if you've formed a mana core, I'll just need to place my hand near your solar plexus" I nodded.
