I looked up at the sky as the stars started to become invisible from the sun, I laid there until I heard a distant howl of a beast, I got up and shook Lyra awake and we packed up what little we had, I sadly had to carry the still slightly wet rabbit hide the sunrise was behind us as we moved forward, we found an old road from the golden age "We would probably find a settlement if we follow the road" Lyra looked over at me and then responded with "Why would we find any near the road" I looked forward and said "Most of the old structures were built next to roads just like these" I walked onto the road and saw the remains of crushed cars "But we are out in the open so we need to tread carefully" she nodded and walked onto the street with me we walked close enough to the edge of the road that we could easily jump back into the forest if we needed to do so, and then Lyra said "So why exactly did you leave the village without any arguments" I shrugged "why would I stay in a town where I cant truly use my ability to their fullest" she frowned "whats the real reason Orion, I've known you for years and not once have you used your ability for the betterment of that town" I looked up at the sky "in truth I was going to be kicked out when I turned 13 so I decided to at least teach the bullies a lesson before I left" she frowned "Why Did You Never Tell me this" i shruged "never needed to since my plan only involved me, but like I said yesterday the plan should still work with you" she sighed "you just seem kinda distant right now" I shruged "don't know, but we need to focus on surviving" she nodded and we continued on the road.
we stopped and found a car that had been run off of the road and used it as a makeshift shelter since the seats were somehow still intact "This should work fine as a shelter as long as we cover it slightly with twigs and sticks" she nodded. I went and found some suitable sticks, when I got back to the camp area I saw that Lyra had already started a fire since the air was getting colder, I got my bag out and grabbed the rest of the Rabit from it and ate it, I then laid on the seat of the car which wasn't very comfortable, especially since they were weathered, I looked out through the sticks. I thought I saw movement but I didn't hear anything and then Lyra said "I'm sorry if I've messed up your plan" I looked over and shushed her. Then I pointed towards the area i thought I had seen movement, but she nodded and I laid there looking for hours to the point where I didn't even remember falling asleep, but nonetheless I packed up camp and woke up Lyra, and set out on the road.

But I couldn't shake this feeling that I was being watched by something, but we stayed on the road and eventually came upon a settlement that kept its gates opened, i looked over to Lyra and said "This should be a traders camp so we should be able to get some money and food, and weapons" she nodded and we walked into the outpost, i saw multiple different types of people walking around, i saw large amounts of steam coming from a place so i walked in and saw it was a blacksmiths shop, so i walked up to the counter and said "How much do you sell weapons for?" he then said "10 Gold and most of the parts to make the sword" i looked at him confused "what do you mean parts don't you use metals" he shook his head "We stoped using metal when we figured it was too hard to infuse it with mana so we just use the stuff we get from animals" i pulled out the rabits teath "And could this become a lightweight weapon" he nodded "wont be of much use against bigger creatures but for general use then yes it should do fine" i then said "So how do we get gold" the blacksmith rubbed his eyes "Look kid why are you in my shop, get out" i rolled my eyes and left "this will be an issue" i said to Lyra, we walked to the nearby inn and i sold two of the bigger teath from the rabbit and that gave us enough money to get a room, unfortunately it only had one bed, but the nice thing was we would both get meals, we sat at a table "you can have the bed" i said, she shook her head "no this was your plan so you should have the bed especially since your injured" i shook my head "we could both sleep on the bed if we use something to divide us" she nodded slightly "ok then" we didn't say much to each other after that until we got to the room "the beds a little bit smaller then i thought it would be" i looked for something to separate us but couldn't find anything "do you have anything to separate us?" she shook her head "you should take the bed then" i shook my head "I'm fine with sleeping on the floor" she shook her head "no we can just sleep next to each other then as long as we face separate ways" this doesn't feel right a 30 year old man sleeping in a bed with a 14 year old girl, i shook my head "no Just take the bed ill be fine on the floor, I've been training my self for much harder climates then a wooden floor" she sighed in defeat and laid onto the bed and then she said "Do you know how long it will take us to get to this Awakend camp?" i looked over at her and said "about a year or two" she sighed and rolled to face the opposite wall, and i looked over at the window and slowly drifted of to sleep.
