I sat across from the government employee "So Why do you want this job" I responded with "I want to be an investigator because my family was murdered when I was 5, and I wish I could've known who had done it and seen them behind bars" he looked down at my file and said "You do have a history with being an alcoholic, but it does say you've been sober for 63 months" I nodded " my brother had died before that" the government employee said "beyond that, your record seems fine especially since you excelled in school and got a 3.4 GPA" I nodded again and said "My brother had pushed for me to get good grades" the government employee smiled "Mine also did" after that the government employee got up and said "We should be back with you in a few days and two weeks max.

"I left that building feeling good about my odds of getting the job, and that feeling stayed with me until a giant green portal opened in front of me, green electricity pulsed off of it and unfortunately for me it hit the edge of a building causing it to shatter and hit me," i said to the strange looking man, he then said "So you weren't meant to die from that so I'm giving you a choice, you can reincarnate back onto the earth or you could try to beat this cool and extremely challenging optical course and be sent to another realm," i thought for a second before asking a question "do I get anything special for going back down to earth" god or the angel? nodded "you'll get a gift chosen by me that will be given at the age of 15" I then said "and if I completed the optical course do I gain anything?" he nodded "near infinity power" I looked down the carudoor "ill choose earth" god, 'i decided it had to be god'. looked shocked "surprising most of the time with people who die weirdly and not by fate they decide to try the course and their souls get banished into the void" i looked at him wide eyed "seems a little cruel" he laughed "its very cruel and painful" 'and now i think this person isn't god but Satin' "well i guess send me back down to earth" he shook his head "got to wait along time because we need a suitable body for your soul" i sighed "and how long could that take" he looked over"you humans are so impatient"

and so for 46 years we sat there, eventually on what i assumed to be the 12th year god or satin summoned some stuff to keep us entertained so we watched most of what earth tv had to offer and read lots of books, but eventually he did notice a suitable host body for my soul and with a hand on my shoulder he said "Grow strong".

And a bright light came over me and suddenly i was alive again but earth wasn't how i remembered it, everything was sad and broken.

age 6? they had named me Orion Rivers. I was not ordinary at all since i was already smarter then my parents since i guess they were probably about as smart as a 7 or 8 year old but not the point especially when the world sat in ruins around us a we lived fearfully for our lives at every point because of what these people called gates which is what likely killed me, and what came out of them were these unstoppable beasts that could easily survive hydrogen and nuclear bombs. They rapidly evolved because in just 15 years they evolved to fly across thousands of miles not that i mattered since a gate had already opened in America before that 15-year mark and decimated the largest city.

i walked across the makeshift road to the tiny house of the village elder, she was around 74 and she knew of earths great past and how we once dominated the world as a species, but of course no one in the village believed her except me hence why the village kids called me a freak, i sat in front of Beatrice the village elder, she looked down and began to speak of phones of course no other kids even came near her since they all though she spoke of lies, after a little bit Beatrice said "you should probably go start your work" i nodded and walked over to my house and began to clean, i would have been assigned another job if my parents hadn't arranged for me just to clean the dishes of everyone, once I was done I went back outside, and one of the other kids pushed me into the mud, it covered all of my cloths and of course the kids who did it ran away quickly after since they knew my parents would get them in trouble, I got up and walked into out house and cleaned up a bit and changed cloths, my blood was pumping fast throughout my body as if ready to explode from every veign, I left the house since I had gotten a good look at the kids, on my way I picked up a rock or two inorder to throw them at the kids, I found them picking on an elf kid, despite the elfs coming from gates they were kind to humans and attempted to help us fight back but due to their low number they didn't help much in the end, I threw the first rock and it hit the kids in the back of the neck and I threw the second but missed, the kid noticed so I acted like I had another rock and did the throw motion but what I didn't expect to happen was a ball of highly condenced air to form into my hands and slam into the kids face ruptering both of his ear drums causing his ears to spurt blood, I knew if any adult found out about me I would be as good as dead since they didn't like awakened people, they blamed us for the fall of the golden age, I ran back home and found a book to read to try to act like I had been reading, after awhile my heart had stoped beating with the anticipation of someone finding me out, I then heard a knock on the door.
